Libya: Government Bombs Civilians, Top Sunni Cleric Puts Out a Death Warrant on Gadhafi, Son Warns of Foreign Occupation, Native Tribes Revolt

The news out of Libya is dramatic.
Dictator Moammar Gadhafi is bombing his own people with military jets.
Two senior officers in the Libyan air force have defected to Malta:
A top Sunni cleric says the army should kill Gadhafi.
Gadhafi’s son is warning: “Stop the protest or face civil war & colonialism”. He states that the U.S. and Europe will occupy Libya if the protests are not reined in.
Libya's own diplomat accuses Gadhafi of 'crimes against humanity' and 'crimes of war'. Military officials are reportedly calling for Gadhafi's removal. And diplomats and the justice minister have resigned. See this.
And Al Jazaeera reports:
Unconfirmed reports suggest the Migraha tribe has now abandoned Gaddafi. This follows the Tuareg and Warfela tribes who came out in support of the protests yesterday.

Reminds me of the story of the old farmer whose car broke down on election day. He tried to hitchhike to town to vote but every time he got picked up, when he told them he was going to vote Republican, they threw him out.

This is going to be a real shit storm.
Where's the evidence? All there is so far are some emotional rages by supposed Libyan citizens. No independent confirmation. In this age, where faked "news" can be distrubuted to billions of people via the internet, you can start rebellions just on rumours. Remember those alleged attrocities by Saddam's troops against those poor Kuweiti babies they showed via TV to enrage the world and to make Saddam the poster-child of the Evil? It turned out, it was all faked and fabricated.
Not to say that this is the same here with Libya, but before condemning anyone, taking sides or whatever you better check for the facts or else you may find yourself marching to the tune of someone else's drum.

I was surprised to see that it is not uncommon in the Islamic world to marry your 2nd cousin (60% in some countries)...
