London Rioters Attack Ritz Hotel, Fail To Dent Reinforced Glass
Just your typical London protest. The Telegraph has recorded the attempted break and entry into a bank, which however proves too much for scattered "anarchists" courtesy of reinforced glass. The same can not be said for the Ritz hotel unfortunately.
And the latest timeline from The Telegraph:
19.15 Scotland Yard says: "Although the TUC march has passed
peacefully there remain pockets of disruption by breakaway groups in the
West End."
19.00 A Large bonfire lit by protesters in the eastern end of Jermyn
Street appears to be getting out of control, says reporter David Barrett,
with buildings now looking at risk.
18.55 Projectiles known as "Thunderflashes" - fireworks
containing coins - are understood to have been thrown at police in
Piccadilly Circus. Some riot police appear to be removing reflective bibs,
to reduce the risk of being set alight.
18.30 Amid clashes between police and protestors, a police
officer appears badly hurt, reports Michael Howie from Piccadilly. Half a
dozen police medics treat him before he is dispatched to an ambulance,
wearing a neck brace.
Meanwhile, protesters are being allowed out of the kettle, but those who do
not want to move on are involved in clashes near Piccadilly Circus.

17:59 Daniel Hannan, Telegraph blogger and MEP, questions the
negativity of the protest, in the post: 'March
for the Alternative'? WHAT alternative?
17.35 Lloyds TSB bank on Piccadilly is under attack from protesters, at
least one large plate glass window has been smashed, with banner poles now
being used as weapons, while red paint bombs have been thrown. Nearby a
protester is being treated for a head wound by police medics.

17.30 Reporter Michael Howie is among a crowd of thousands of people
contained within the police kettle surrounding Fortnum & Mason. He sends
this report:
"Skirmishes have broken out as police block off the exits to
Piccadilly, with protesters charging either end. Shop windows have been
smashed as terrified demonstrators and shoppers got caught up in the
violence
One father sheltered her distraught little girl in a doorway as missiles
were flung at riot police who hit back, striking some with their shield.
Peter and Elizabeth Davies, both 73, from Guernsey, were desperate to
escape the clashes.
'I came here to see my mother in a nursing home and we just wanted to find
a nice place to eat," said Mr Davies, taking refuge with his wife in a
close.
'It's terrifying,' said Mrs Davies. 'I've never seen anything like it
before.'"

Protesters
attack Topshop in Oxford Street

17.10 In Oxford Circus, many shops are now closed, though shoppers
continue to stroll among activists, with the main troublemakers dressed in
black, says reporter Ben Leach:
"Many of the shops around Oxford Circus are now closed as hundreds of
activists continue to protest outside Topshop. Dozens of police officers are
lining the entrance and seven riot vans are parked nearby.
Banners reading 'Keep warm, burn out the rich' are draped from traffic
lights, and flags depicting Che Guevara are being carried by the remaining
hardcore of protesters.
Shoppers continue to stroll through the area, which is filled mainly with
activists, most of whom seem to be either teenagers or in their twenties or
early thirties. The main trouble makers are dressed head to toe in black,
some wearing face masks, scarves to cover their faces and helmets."

I found Financial Times article to be much more informative, as details that the rioters were away fro the main demonstration and the most of the arrested are from the group UK Uncut, not from nor connected to the Unions who organised the event. Does this clarify ?

Meanwhile in Japan:
From AP: "Emergency workers struggling to pump contaminated water from Japan's stricken nuclear complex fled one of the troubled reactors Sunday after reporting a huge spike in radioactivity, with levels 10 million times higher than normal in the reactor's cooling system, officials said."
The youth of England realize that their futures look bleak. The youth of America will realize it when their baby boomer parents loose their jobs, BMWs, and 401Ks. Once baby boomers can't / won't give their kids instant gratification then we will see an ugly uprising.
Global Rev is spreading across the planet. Starting in the PIIGs, moving to the Middle East, started and squashed in China, now back to the developed economies in the west. We have only had a little dust up here in the US. When will it really hit? Banks have gotten everyone in debt, most notably the governments around the world. Economic opportunity lost through globalism, that boost corporate profits at the expense of the working person. None can hide from income confiscation to support crony capitalism and socialist programs that were bankrupt from the beginning. The planet is now at the endgame. But hay don't worry Bernanke says he is a success because he has inflated stock prices, while taking no credit for the rise in food and energy prices. No matter what he says, the person on the street knows the truth.

Banks know their buildings must be made riot-proof.
Let 'em fight. Gimme, gimme, gimme. As if they have some kind of inborn right to any wealth created by others. When the cupboard is bare and they riot for their handouts, let the Tax Enforcement brigade turn on the Tax Eaters.
It all serves to get everyone arguing about the wrong thing. The banksters and their kept politicians are having a good laugh. They like nothing more than a violent example of the peons enforcing servitude on each other, reinforcing the insane meme as they do so. Both sides suck the same object for their sustenance.
How long until both sides realize the object they suck off won't spurt enough to feed them if the servants don't produce enough? When they do, there is only one Final Solution -- make them produce, directly, with a whip and a gun. Good luck to them with that option. It can't work.
The dominant social theme is that we need a huge government to rule over us, tax us, and use the proceeds to feed others who will serve as political and enforcement support. A collective parasite, it has weakened the host to the point where it is simply not worth it or possible to play the old game of producing and having the products of your work used as a weapon against you. The tapeworm is running out of nutrients, and is not happy. Too bad. This fight is over dwindling resources, between the political reinforcement arm and the violence enforcement arm. Guess which side always runs out of resources last?
Sure, maybe some people think they are harmless and blameless as they work in their anonymous bureaucratic sinecure jobs. They think they are caught in the middle, and are worried about being made victims in the turmoil. It is they and their neighbors that think paying for services at the point of a gun, the social acceptance of living off spoils taken by force, that is the root of the problem. Said another way, those who accept it, cause it. Things will never, ever get better until it is NOT OK with the people at large. Turning beggars into thieves, then giving thieves social status superior to producers has guaranteed the downfall of civilised society.
Keep starving the beast! Make it plain that predation on the productive will never again be tolerated. The tapeworm has only one set of tactics, and that toolset does not include a relaxation of the chokehold on the productive. It's all downhill from here. Capital and brains flee from the reach of these mouth-breathing enforcers. Whatever stays behind is devoured in a feeding frenzy, until finally the Tax Eaters turn on each other. Freedom will not return (or rather, be born) until they are stripped of their ability to steal, until beggars are pitied (or not) and thieves hated for what they are.
Nothing some handcuffs wouldn't fix!
Down with tyranical royal weddings! Nothing to see here, move along.
Sunday NYT nary a word in the Headline page about London. MMMMMMMMM????????/
