Loughner Mug Shot Released

Tyler Durden's picture

From ABC15:

The suspect in a deadly Tucson shooting is being held without bail
and has been assigned a lawyer who defended Oklahoma City bombing
conspirator Timothy McVeigh.

Jared Loughner entered the courtroom
Monday handcuffed and wearing a tan inmate uniform. His head is shaved
and he has a cut on his right temple.

Loughner made his initial
court appearance in federal court at 2 p.m. at the Sandra Day O’Connor
U.S. Courthouse, while state charges have yet to be filed.

The court set Loughner’s preliminary hearing for Jan. 24.

ABC15’s Corey Rangel was at the courthouse this afternoon. Stay with ABC15 throughout the day for updates.

Loughner
described as a social outcast with wild beliefs steeped in mistrust
faces a federal court hearing on charges he tried to assassinate Rep.
Gabrielle Giffords in the Tucson shooting rampage that left six people
dead and wounded 14 others.

His expression was impassive as he
walked in, looked straight at the crowd at the back of the room packed
with reporters, then turned around to speak to his attorney, Judy
Clarke. He responded "yes" when asked if he understood his rights.

FWIW - I listened to a prominent AZ attorney explain the "insanity " plea as it relates to AZ.  Apparently AZ only has "guilty by reason insanity" which means that if this guy pleads crazy he will be remanded to the nuthouse until such time, if ever, he is considered sane.  At which time he will be transferred to the big house where he will serve out the rest of his life in prison.  The report suggested that the Fed's may opt to have the state prosecute so as to prevent the alternative which is "not guilty by reason of insanity."

Also, the shape of the guys head suggests that he was removed from his mothers vaginal canal with some type of salad tongs.

I'm thinking 100 dead this year alone in like manner,  most events never making the MSM. 300 next year. 1,000 the year after. But the media propaganda machine will be totally blacked out on these killings, we'll learn about them second-hand from the BBC and Pravda, and YouTube.

But about then it's on like Donkey Kong. Good people will stand up and put a stake in the ground and hold the line. The luzers and crypto-Fascists will swing. It will be too late to save the country from anarchy and civil war, but it will happen eventually. Someday, some historian will care that we finally did the right thing.

...most events never making the MSM.

These don't either...

American drones carried out a record number of 124 attacks in the tribal areas of Pakistan in the 12 months of 2010, more than double the number of predator strikes conducted in the 12 months of 2009, killing 1184 people, compared with 2009’s death toll of 760 in 53 such attacks.

According to figures compiled by the Pakistani authorities, on average, the US drone attacks targeting the tribal belt of Pakistan, killed 98 people every month, 23 people every week and three people every day in 2010. These attacks recorded an overall 134 percent increase in 2010 compared with the 2009’s figures, jumping from 53 strikes in 2009 to 124 attacks in 2010.

Similarly, an overall 56 percent increase was recorded in the number of people killed by the drones, compared with the 2009’s figures -going up from 760 deaths in 2009 to 1184 in 2010. The monthly increase in the drone-related killing ratio in 2010 (compared with the 2009) comes to 55 while the monthly increase in the ratio of drone strikes (compared with 2009) comes to an unprecedented 150 percent.

While there was 53 percent weekly increase in 2010 in the number of people killed in US drones compared with 2009, an unprecedented 130 percent weekly increase was recorded in the number of attacks in 2010, compared with the 2009.

The figures show that on average, ten more persons were killed by the American drones every month and two more persons were perished in such strikes every week, compared with 2009’s figures. Similarly, 71 more drone attacks were carried out in Pakistan in 2010 compared with 2009’s figure of 53. And 424 more persons lost their lives in these attacks compared with the 2009’s total figure of 760.

As always, most of those killed by the US drones were innocent civilians.

Ahhh...these ambulance-chasing attorneys volunteer for this. This one is high-profile, and was probably chosen to show some semblance of a fair trial. The "accomplice" turned out just to be the cab driver who drove him to the scene. Wrong place, wrong time.

By cracking open the Pandora's Box of conspiracy you set the stage for the next loonie who will come along to "avenge" this loonie. But I guess that's just the row we have to hoe now.

OTOH, it's a way to get rid of all the armed loonies. I guess I'll have go buy that Glock 21 I've been lusting after so I can deal with them on their own level.

Is this different from any other mall, campus, school or office shooting?

Sadly this happens too often in America.

If the gun can be traced back to a proper sale at a gun store, the gun shop owner should be put on trial as well.

Just what exactly drives a person to randomly shoot and kill other people like they're just props or some type of video game?

There is a correlation between increased levels of visual violence and how a person can then become desensitized towards violence in general. Would be interesting to know if this shooter played violent video games. I'm not buying the plea for criminal insanity. That defines about every criminal. Sure, the shooter is mad and insane to commit this crime. But that cannot be a defense for him to get off the hook.

It was an isolated occurrence imo. There is no vast conspiracy of any group out there to kill politicians. He was a loner and he acted probably alone. The 2nd guy could have been someone driving the shooter without having further insight into what the shooter was up to. That is if there even was a 2nd guy.

Just my 2 cents.
