So the Hedge Funds were not investing in gold, silver, and oil then?  Except for the Russians ;)

Open Question....Where does the PPT get their funds from?  Obvious answer is 'they print them', but that would be illegal, and since the PPT is a "working group" they should have to only use certain available funds, right?  So whose funds do they use officially?

They don't need funding... they use surrogates (squid anyone)... with free funds at the Fed discount window ("Hey, that ain't workin'... you get your money for nothin' and your chicks for free").

BTW...

Hedge Funds are no longer really Hedge Funds (the original concept was to lower risk in an investment vehicle by shorting weaker stocks to hedge against market downturns) as they have "evolved" (more like decayed) over the years to circumvent investment fund requirements, providing (only) the wealthy yet another venue to suck money from the the serfs! They should be dissolved, or regulated, with full disclosure and transparency ("But what about the liquidity they provide?"... sorry, of course you are right Mr. Liesman... how foolish of me)!

Raising the Discount Rate will do absolutely Nothing, economically.

Except boost Pepto Dismal sales given Bennie the Red's stomach problems having to answer more asinine questions of Maxine Waters.

Oh and BTW, those numbers are BEFORE FEES.  LOL  More Pepto Dismal, please.  Those number stink.

Lately it has been tough to be a fundamentally oriented investor or even a rational trader.  It is very annoying to short a medical device company, have one's thesis proved correct, and then have the stock respond to the disastrous news by dipping briefly and then rocketing upward.  But this nonsense cannot continue forever.
