Michigan Consumer Confidence In Line With Expectations As Inflation Expectations Rise Again
UMichigan consumer confidence came on top of expectations, at 74.5, a slight increase from the prior read of 74.2. Market snoozes as expected as nothing trades on news right now. The notable observation is that while the conditions component of 85.3 actually declined from prior (85.7) and missed expectations of 86, inflation expectations rose once again, with 1 year inflation rising from 2.9% to 3.0%, and the 5 year up from 2.7% to 2.8%. Perhaps cotton prices doubling in 2010 may actually not have a deflationary impact.

There is no inflation if you have no money to buy anything. Poor people have it made
lucky foodstamp bastards... they always get all the luck...
The heifer in front of me at the supermarket was buying 30 pounds of T-Bone with her card. I shit you not.
I have to figure out how to get on the gravy train.
And just that inflations stays low for another decade or so - our white witch Blythe did it again ... how predictable these witches are ... http://marketcyclesresearch.blogspot.com/2010/12/rinse-and-repeat.html
cotton picking doubles in 2011, bitchez†
Inflation will come by taxes and lower supply because of destocking.
Today I've seen this funny thing:
https://www.bullionuk.com/uploads/content/banners/christmas_banner.png.txt
Taxes on silver go up from 17,5% to 20%!!
It's like they just want to push up prices :)
Good thing they don't control the air supply or we could have a problem.
Ever hear of the EPA?

Leffe Blond
Duvel
Westmalle Brown

Stella is conveying the effects of inflation. Have you ever noticed the bottles are 11.2 ounces?

I have that entire movie memorized. Growing up, if my dad went to rent a movie, he was coming home with Spaceballs, The Three Amigos, or Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Every time.
Spaceballs :)
NOW THAT WAS A MOVIE!!!
A CLASSIC LIKE THEY CAN'T MAKE ANYMORE!!
That movie really had it all... romance, action, a bit of humor...
I've heard the cast now works at the SEC and FED headquarters!!
I made a visit to my local tire shop yesterday to repair a flat. The owner I have known for years and he gives me a good deal on my new tires. He informed me that his suppliers are all raising their prices... Some of the name brands going up 18% to some of the off brands around 7%, of course this will be passed on to the consumer, but it doesn't matter there is no inflation, there is no inflation, there is no inflation....
LOL
There are several types of inflation. There is the type the average citizen consumer experiences on a daily basis in his or her pocket book. This is INFLATION of the first kind and the most common type.
There is the type the US Government measures. This is Inflation of the second kind and not really expereinced by human beings.
Then there is the type the government did measure at one time but no longer does because it would present an inconvenient "truth" the government would then need to admit actually exists and deal with. This is inflation of the third kind and only experienced in the mind of the sociopath.
During POMO season, which is pretty much year round these days, exactly what ever trades (strickly) on news?
Prices now set by National Security Letter.
Don't tell anyone.
Consumer confidence + Michigan = oxymoronic, especially if you live here.
I'd bet they are just polling college students at keg parties.
