More Middle-East Escalation: Israeli Planes Under Fire Over Lebanon
From Reuters:
Israeli military aircraft came under anti-aircraft fire over Lebanon on Tuesday but there were no casualties, an Israeli security source said.
The source said the fire was aimed at Israeli planes on reconnaissance flights over southern Lebanon. An Israeli military spokesman had no immediate comment.
Tension has risen in the region since nine people were killed aboard a Turkish-backed aid ship heading for the Gaza Strip when Israeli commandos seized the vessel in Mediterranean waters on Monday.

The BBC is reporting "Meanwhile, in Nazareth, Israeli Arab MP Haneen Zuabi - who was on the flotilla - told a press conference that Israeli forces began firing while still in the helicopters hovering over the ships.
"We are calling for an international committee to investigate this tragedy," she said."
If true, then Israelis were firing before boarding ship and "being attacked".
None of us know the real story yet.
My bet is a shooting war is about to break out, and the flotilla facts will be left in the realm of conjecture.
The flotilla was carrying an amount of aid equivalent to about one quarter of that which flows into Gaza every day. So much for the humanitarian urgency for running the gauntlet eh?

A word on the legal position, which is very plain. To attack a foreign flagged vessel in international waters is illegal. It is not piracy, as the Israeli vessels carried a military commission. It is rather an act of illegal warfare. Because the incident took place on the high seas does not mean however that international law is the only applicable law. The Law of the Sea is quite plain that, when an incident takes place on a ship on the high seas (outside anybody's territorial waters) the applicable law is that of the flag state of the ship on which the incident occurred. In legal terms, the US ship was US territory.
9 US citizens have been, therefore, kidnapped after their ship was seized after being boarded through an act of war.
