Mubarak Speaks, Dissolves One Crony Government, New Crony Government To Be Named Tomorrow
The Egyptian president (?) is speaking liverecorded (unclear from where). Somewhere, the Bernank is rehearsing the very same speech. Long, meandering speech, whose conclusion is that government is at fault. The government will be sacked and be replaced with new government tomorrow. Long Riot futures.

I respectfully disagree. He's been in power for 30 years. He has tried to appease the masses with his lies previously. This population knows him well. Andthey know that the gov't is set up in away where control is centralized to one person.........Mubarak. I will be surprised if they stand down. Just my opinion.
Behold, this is how a world of 6.8 billion people whose lives completely depend on something that is becoming scarce looks.
It's going to get much, much worse.
So should the US mail the next $1 billion check directly to Mubarak? Looks like he's the only official member of government at this point.
muBARAK OBAMA! wow is that a coincidence?
No. Fallen angels, both. Lucifer, Mulucifer the other name.
+1000--someone just put a bullet in his head and be done with it-at least that way he wont be able to live lavishly in london.
I see Mubarak as more a French Riveria exile sort of guy. Too cold in London for an Egyptian.
Hillary is like... thank fuck.. hopefully they buy this.
The funny thing I thought when I watched the stream is Mubarak sounded exactly like my ex during my divorce. All the problems were known, and nothing was done until it was to late to correct them. I hope the Egyptian people dig deep for the courage to fight for their independence.
It was the end of the Commonwealth.
"Nothing in common, certainly not wealth".
Why, in the hell, didn't wear his General uniform with the arm cords, battle patches, and matching beret? Combine that with shooting a shotgun aimlessly into the air and this might have been accepted better by the masses.
These guys will never learn...shame.
V.P. Joe Biden says Mubarak is not a dictator but yet he can change the entire government. If you can change an entire government singlehandedly and you’re not a dictator, what is the definition, right?
Well...I'm not sure about all that. But he only got 2 out of 5 stars on presentation. He definitely could have upped the level of soap opera drama that I've become accustomed to out of the middle east. I mean...seriously...not even one mustard gas attack on the citizenry? This is bush league stuff.
I need a little more pizzazz and flamboyance in my third world dictators.
Since you're not a paying customer, what you need isn't of concern to anyone.
deduction pwnt.
Egypt is structured like an American corporation. Mubarak just happens to own all the class A voting shares.
He is not a dictator. More of a CEO. The only reason he is not at Davos is that he has to shoot - correction - fire a lot of people in the next few days.
+ 1935
Right. Just keep moving.
Obama to speak about this in a few minutes...about 6:30pm according to FOX
Well that's a fuckin relief!
lmao - first time you said something that makes sense.
If Fox says it, it surely must be true. I wonder if they will air that union- loving socialist commie. I sure hope not. I'll have to turn off Fox and that hasn't happened in 10 years.
The nation that worries me is Pakistan. They have high inflation, bankrupt, and is only kept together is loans from us,IMF,and World Bank. If Pakistan collapses that will open another can of worms and is a nightmare just as bad as the house of saud being overthrowned. Anyway where is the neo cons, have they made an excuse to invade Egypt yet?
Remember what you were doing when WWIII started.
does anyone think that Obama is in the least bit prepared to handle whats coming
Obango seem more worried about cell phones and internet. Can't have those iPhones and Blackberry's go unused.
Those protesters are protesting what? Mubarak, the gov, poverty? Technically Mubarak is not a dictator. His party won the majority in election and that why they are in power. Those protesters are the mintority evident by thier numbers and include the usual communists, islamists and arab nationalists. Egypt's problem is not Mubarak, it poverty. 90 million people with no middle class to speak of, high un-employment and lately high inflation. If Mubarak steps down it will be symbolic since the next person that will follow him is the speaker of the house. Either that or a millitary coup that brings a millitary dictatorship to power, ala Saddam Hussein's Iraq in the 70s.
Mubarak forgot the bread and circuses. Bad move on his part.
America was all for democracy except in the extreme 80% of cases where it is clear that democracy might not serve US (World Elite) financial interests.
Then America shifts it's stance to make it clear we are for democracy so long as the outcome is democratically in our favor...otherwise we're for and support despots, tryranny, national oppression so long as we get cheap oil.
Ah, yes, that basic human right of "free trade."
mubarak feels free to trade human rights?
Israelis must be fretting even more than usual these days with all the events is Egypt, Lebanon, etc. America better DUMP ISRAEL before it's too late!
anybody who believes in this one world fantasy island government needs a brain.
Ohhh... lets get all somber for Mubarak, another disposed murderous puppet.
You are getting scammed every day.
It's a damn joke!
food stamps and all the springer they can watch for free!
Maybe the puppet in chief who can't find his US birth certificate will split too.
Double
Once again our corporate nation is just hedging their bets. They claim to be pro democracy but they only now see this as a problem
Since citizens are taking back a nation from their foster children and cannot play the terrorism card. So they support Egypt and it's dictators for decades but now only once they are assured they will take power will the US pretend they have not been protectorates.
Only because they do not have a cause to engage our military because of our wars elsewhere that Americans cannot tolerate do our cowardice politicians pretend this is acceptable for them.
Meanwhile if a city rebelled against it's leadership domestically they would be slappe with the domestic tea party anarchist label so fast the Internet would be shut down a well.
This nation is a hypocrisy. Our leaders stand salivating for their burning Reichstag so they can begin the consolidation
Steve Martin for president of Egypt.

I'm thinking the new government should leverage all this great media they're getting.
They should increase fees for oil through the Canal by an amount that will equal a 1 cent increase in the price of a gallon of gas to the US consumer. We'll view it as the Egyptian Freedom tax and they'll get paid.
Most people would consider that fair, if it's marketed reasonably well.

President Mu-Barack Obama:
Do not ask for whom the bell tolls....
The F-16 and M1 tank lobby wants Mubarak in power. The Israeli lobby want Mubarak in - they don't want sophisticated US weapons turned against them by whoever might end up running the place, the State Department wants Mubarak in because he is a known quantity, and they do not want to admit to diplomatically supporting a unpopular thug for 35 years (although this seems to be De rigueur with them), and Obama cant get past a mush-wit damned-if-we-do and damned-if-we-dont attitude, which is typical with him. The 800 pound gorilla in the room is Saudi Arabia...if they saw a US administration backing a populace, and not a friendly (bought) gov, they would go ape-shit. The Saudi people in general, hate the royal family.
A quote from one of the protesters:
<<Rachmi Haidi, a 60-year-old Egyptian school principal told Haaretz "What is happening now is the result of Mubarak and his gang plundering the nation for 30 years. They represent the interests of the United States and Israel, not Egypt." >>
I can see where they would believe that, but ultimately, Mubarak represents his own interest, the US being a tool to achieve that. And...Mubarak is a tool of the US. That is nut-cutting self interest, typically human and typically nationalistic.
In fact, I am sure Bandar has been on the Horn to Clinton and Obama telling them please do not abandon Mubarak, it will light a fire in Saudi Arabia, and in the region.
Kill mubarak.
Kill mubarak's people.
Free Egypt.
Push Back, all scumbags should get kicked off the planet...
what did timmay say "Old Testiment Justice"? sounds bout right to me.
"Dissolves One Crony Govt, New Crony Govt To Be Named Tomorrow"Democracy in a nutshell, next system please, let's try no Govt and see how that works out
if hes stil in seat of power come monday and controlling army , hes there for the long haul. if they can kick him out in next day or 2 there is a chance for democracy.
i recall a lot of bitching about elections and no opposistion being allowed to stand,.
there wont ever be an opposistion if any head that popsup gets a hammer on it while TPTB are stillin control. the fever of friday will have waned and an op lost.
the bozman jusat has to sit it out and let their enthusiasm wane, the people need to keep the pressure up for him to flee, if he stays he STAYS
