... Supposedly this is a real one. Considering the administration's photoshop skills are rather rudimentary we hope readers will determine if this is a fake within minutes.

Layering: Obama's New COLB Raises More Questions than it Answers

Today, Obama released another copy of his COLB (certification of live birth) -- more here. It looks like another exhaustive digital forensic examination is in order.

And so the question is, why release such an obvious forgery?

Over at Free Republic:

I thought there was something wrong with my computer when I tried to import the .gov's PDF file into Photoshop. But now that I see what you got when you put it in Word, it's the same thing that Photoshop does to it when I import it! It's DEFINITELY a Layered image that has been cobbled together!

Now, why would only the signatures (and just a partial of Stanley Ann Dunham's) come up? It certainly looks as if someone took Obama's Birth Certificate and then cut&pasted it together!

Keeping in mind that PDF's are made Adobe's creation, here's what I get when I import it into Adobe's Photoshop program:

This is so maddening to listen to the media on this recent revelation... it's such an obvious fake.
 
Look at the attached JPG... (which shows what you will see when opening the PDF in Illustrator and how to get there)... but to recap... if you open the PDF in Illustrator (instead of Photoshop) - Select the entire document and go to the Object menu and choose Clipping Mask > Release. Repeat as necessary until all clipping masks are released. Also open the Layer and turn off the visibility of each clipping group and you can see all the numerous places in which information was added (edited) into the form.
 
Lastly, look at the attached 1961 sample image found on the Internet of a legitimate 1961 Hawaii Birth Certificate (which someone posted to show what a real certificate would look like from that year in Hawaii)... look at the marks on this Internet version and you can see this was the template for Obama's BC handiwork. The handwriting is exactly the same between posted Internet image and Obama's fake version -- the placement of boxes and marks are in the exact same position, dates are where the modified clipping masks occur to adjust dates to fit for Obama, but the handwriting of dates match (except for the clipping mask changes). Even the Cert. number is only off by the last two digits (which...you guessed it... happens to be a clipping mask layer).

UPDATE Doug Welch tells me, "it is not a forgery. It is scanned using OCR that adds layers to a scanned document. Anyone that works with OCR scanners knows this."

If it was scanned using OCR then the layers would have searchable text.  They do not.  The different objects are images and not text.  Doug should maybe get a little better acquainted with OCR technology.

Saddam was an icon for very few people.  He was unlikely to be made into a martyr by anyone, including ObL, who had Saddam om his "to do" list.

ObL is a different animal entirely.  Saddam had unleashed his "Mother of all Battles" and promptly got his butt kicked.  That did not enhance his reputation.  ObL, on the other hand, was the philosophical leader of a worldwide movement, and had given the approval nod for 911.  He had followers.  He could be a martyr, or a rallying point if his death was not handled discreetly.  The way the death was handled, and the scant information and documentation released (to date) surrounding it, keeps those whom the US might want to keep offguard offguard.

The USG doesn't give a shit if the moonbats on ZH aren't satisfied, as they are not the targetted audience, and nothing would satisfy them anyway.  Already the conspiratorialists are hard at work fabricating the next cottage industry.  Knock yourselves out.
