Could someone just pop round and check on the PPT?

I keep getting images like the opening scenes in the movie Three Days of The Condor, where Robert Redford pops out for lunch and when he comes back, the whole office as been shot to pieces.

Close, but no banana.  That's sour grapes on his part, not seller's remorse.  The only gold he ever owned was the pyrite sample he got at a roadside gift shop on a trip to Florida with his parents back in 1982.  Yip can't get a grand together if he sold his bicycle and all the furniture.  (Oops, the furniture belongs to his mom... can't sell that without being evicted from the basement.)  Wish we knew where he lived so we could go roll his yard!  That would piss off his mom.

The only thing sadder than oblivious gold-bugs are internet experts that spend their time penning missives in the comment section of articles on gold exclaiming how stupid people are for being correct and riding a decade long bull market

I've heard "gold is done" at 500 at 700 at 900 and every up day since then.  As long as I keep hearing it I'll know the top is far away.

When fiscally and monetarily expansionist sovereign states are under seige people look to gold as an alternative currency, always have and probably always will; you may not like that people still treat gold as such but that doesn't change the fact that they do.

GCM0 is testing 1200 today, so why don't you step up and write some calls.  The gold-bugs may not be the sharpest tools in the shed but atleast they put their money where their mouth is.

First and foremost, sometimes it is nice to have Hairy/Bater/Yipper around to show the foolishness of the argument.  Not today.  This is some serious 'ish.  JPM, are you done shorting silver?  Because in a month, when the US is forced to throw doelarrs at their problems, oil is going sky high.  Silver tracks oil.  This is why it is down.  Buy some if you think, as I do, that all FIAT currentseas are in the fire.  Watch paper burn.  To add, peak oil is on the cusp of plateau.  Any conversation that can be had regarding economics via buys and sells will be down the toilet.  Without energy, there will be no growth.  There will be negative growth.  So what to have?  Monie is always important, but what is monie?

Gold is REAL monie.  Pronounced Re' AL.  I can call you Betty....

Serious question for any takers.  Many of us who frequent ZH have been disgusted by the meltup and some of us, myself included unfortunately, have lost big betting against the market.  Comments have continually implied that the fed and its agents have propped the market up and would do so as long as possible.  Do you really believe that we have reached this point?  Would you go short now?  Along the same lines, many of us agree that the PM markets are manipulated.  Do you think the ability to manipulate them has now been broken?  Do you now believe that prices are going higher regardless of who may wish that they don't?  I don't have any answer to these questions so I am only looking for honest responses.  I'm kicking myself that I closed my short positions and took a big loss as I would now be in the money...

Thata a great question. I think - if you believe that the PPT can control all markets - then you should only trade if you know what the PPT wants to achieve.

I think this is a debilitating belief to have as a trader.

I think fundamentals/psychology/hedge fund behavior is what drives the markets. Sure there may be periodic interventions but intervention cannot be successful if you are pissing against the wind!

Nah, just Goldman Sucks collecting it's SEC fine from all the suckers. Soon as they and the SEC can agree how much is appropriate the markets will be back in meltup mode and Hairy Canker Sore will be back with much valuable advice on resistance levels in the S&P 500. Between Cramester and Canker you should be able to make a bundle.

That's pretty neat-o - the Dow plunges over 500 points, then turns around and comes right back! Nice trick.

I left the remains of my living room(having trashed and re-trashed it too many times to mention over the last few weeks having shorted the QQQQ's)to consume approximately a gallon of Ruddles Best Bitter at my local hostelry and I come back to what I think is a bad candle on my chart, then I select another chart and there is a similar spike on the screen.I repair to the west wing of Pipsqueak Towers and interrupt the busy conversation of my butler and maids discussing short term targets of AAPL and the viability of having a third investment property and they are clueless.I can only assume my theory that that the PPT have been wiped out by persons intent on destroying the American dream is correct.

In short I have onlyone question for TD:

Just one more question.........

Could I just say my wife is your biggest fan,but one thing is bothering me,where were you between the hours of 14.30 and 15.00?

MAY 1st:

"The weekly DOW chart shows an expanding wedge indicating a significant move is probable... this remains an overbought bear market rally and the uptrend could falter at any time.
