>>''Babies can easily absorb radioactive iodine in their thyroid glands,''
For a nation of elderly Japanese this will likely infuriate them.
Please... Priced in. Like Greece/Italy/Ireland default, QE2, Housing Subsidy.
One of the oldest excuses on Wall Street.
Time to raise the allowable limits!
Hey, does anyone want to buy my IYR shorts...cheap?
There is nothing like a good radioactive rain to start your moning off!
This should propel the Nikkei another 1000 points upward, at least.
Expecting lots of reports from the banking cartel that this is a non-event and even if they see any risk it's already priced in. And of course there will be explanations how this is actually bullish for the planet earth.
How do you know if you've lost or won the game when they keep moving the goal post and hiding the score board?
Ahhhhhhhhh, now I get it.
Don't forget to donate generously to your busy ZH team. Without them and this site, we'd be really fucking bored and uninformed.
Ps- I'm spontaneously doing a short "campaign drive". Hope you'll kick in a few bucks, say $20 or so.
Absolutely Cindy - Well said!
Did my part.
you guys have dispelled the myth..." you only get what you pay for....there is hardly anything else i pay for these days that i feel ...let me rephrase, the things i buy today seem to be of the same quality of the item i am using to trade with.....
that makes the value of what you do is priceless against the frn's...i hope you guys are humbly aware of the impact you have had...im in thanks
how about if we are going to donate we get a free pass from these fuckin math problems...
"How do you know if you've lost or won the game when they keep moving the goal post and hiding the score board?"
I thought you were on to something last night with your theory of "velocity of lies, omissions, and obfuscations".
I still do.
Which ZH story/article comment thread are you referring to? Like a baby with diarrhea, I'm dropping bombs all over the place. :>)
I don't remember which thread it was exactly. It was a passing comment you made to the effect that: more spin = worsening situation. I thought it insightful and universally applicable in these times. Others have said similar things, notably TruthisSunshine.
I just remembered it when I read your comment above and the phrase "velocity of lies, omissions, and obfuscations seemed like a good way to summarize the principle. Sorry to confuse. Unintentional.
Sometimes my best writing occurs when I'm asleep at the keyboard. :>)
I am in the middle of an article about this nuclear insanity, but I want the background radiation here on ZH to come down a bit before I consider posting it. Emotions on ZH are still way too high for clear thought......which means many people (including myself) are reacting rather than thinking. The more we recognize the spin the greater our anger. Never open your mouth when you're furious and right now I am furious. I sense many others are furious as well.
I look forward to reading your article. I am new as a commenter here, but I've followed the dialog for quite some time. Your comments often seem insightful to me.
Emotions are pretty intense at the moment all over, I agree. My own tend to run from rage to cynicism to despair and back again lately.
I don't blame you for wanting to wait for calmer waters. Doesn't seem to be much danger of missing the iron while its hot, so why not?
The iron is always hot at ZH. lol...

Okay what you've just written above nails it! - this is how i feel EVERY DAY. "never open your mouth when you are furious" - sounds very Sun Tzu - ish. This is something I will practice.
To be honest I am still commenting in the comment section. But the comment section is precisely that, a place to leave reactions to the articles.
However, I have decided to hold off posting actual articles until my blood pressure returns to near normal. I have tried to take a longer, bigger picture point of view with my articles since I became a contributor a year and a half ago and I don't wish to change. As hooky as it may sound, I feel a responsibility to the reader to give them my best thinking in my articles......or at least what I consider my best thinking. Shooting from the hip doesn't qualify. That's why my articles are far and few between. I let most of me hang out in the comment section unlike most of the other contributors.
time to calculate the thrid derivative, the speed of speed?
I believe the third derivative would be the speed of aceleration, ne? Mr. Tippy long time no see?
Yes, it is called 'jerk', that head-snapping kind of thing as opposed to the steady push of accelaration. The 4th, 5th and 6th derivatives are called snap, crackle, and pop.
No, you jerk!
Is it just me or is reactor#3 melting....
It doesn't look all that tall anymore.
And trav7777 how 'bout that grey smoke? Is that just some harmless swamp gas discolored from light refracting off of Venus? I need to know as to prepare for the HAARP activated NWO flock as my spidey senses suspect they are Oscar Mike as we speak.
Been thinking the same thing, the steel superstructure was relatively intact after the inital explosion. But each picture I see after that, the structure appears to be slumping in on itself.
That's why they call it a melt down. Five years from now all you will see is a small stain on the ground.
Evil things melt when you pour water on them. I saw it on TV.
we (NWO) have been using the remote control pigeons to peck at and carry off small pieces of the structure when the cameras are not aimed at the complex. Eventually, we can say "what reactor 3, do you see a reactor 3?" All the bits and pieces are being distributed to the front lawns of those super-sleuths on ZH who figured out our plan to use HAAAARP on the full moon and move Mars into Uranus.

Someone somewhere is having a good time....
Amen Theta - IF your not in Japan & happen to work for a bank or a government the world is a happy place
Yes those fat-cat thousandaire teachers and policemen have the life... oh wait they are getting laid off.
I think we need to stop with the distractions, the banks have raped the world economy and are getting the sheep to blame it on 1st-grade teachers.
I read something from someone I don't respect who made an astonishingly accurate point.
Republicans (and politicians in general) are like your meth-head roommate. While you're pointing out the obvious, that getting a job and paying the rent and paying off debt are the issues that need to be attended to, they're laying on the couch with their entire attention focused on the sounds of the imaginary police scanner coming in through the air conditioner.
Yea, you know somewhere there are mega-douchebags high fiving each other and snapping towels into each others asses.
They are in TOTAL control and they know it. If today's asinine jack job doesn't prove it then I don't know what will.
S&P 1300? Check.
DOW 1,200? Check.
REITs and Financials jacked? Roger that.
See you tomorrow Fred. OK, see you tomorrow Ralph.
Boiler, your incisive wit is welcome relief.
Perhaps you has a freudian slip on the DOWn... 1,200?
one can only hope.
Go long hair dye. Lotta white hairs developing.
The correct play here is to go long wigs since people will be losing their hair.
Perruques will soon be in fashion if the aristocracy gets its way. I can hardly wait to see libertarians strutting around in leotards with codpieces.
Well they suck at nuclear plants but they sure know how to move goal posts!
Yes next move for the Jap Govt will be to raise the human tolerance temperature allowance to something close to the surface of the Sun
if all else fails, cover it up!
remember the USS Liberty
The stock market seems to only care about Citi's reverse stock split and whopping $0.01 dividend.
Japan is old news, and so is, apparently, the huge drop in February home sales.
Huh. Says over there >>>> (RAN Squawk): General Motors (GM) halting some production in Buffalo on Japan parts slowdown
Doesn't seem that old....of course this is bullish since it slows down GM's trollopy channel stuffing habit....
Hehe... my post was 100% sarcasm. It's amazing how in just one weekend Japan isn't a problem anymore, neither is housing, Portugal, Greece, etc., etc.
As long as Apple can keep pumping out iPad 2s for the next 2-3 weeks (until they run out of parts), to the moon baby.
VIDEO: 'Japan govt not in control, IAEA can do nothing, people right to panic'
This video wasn't loaded in Japan, because, well, you know - that would be illegal (as Japan has blocked youtube broadcasts of anything nuclear, as there is no catastrophe brewing and all is well).
This video is from March 16. I'm not picking a fight, but things have changed since this time. Perhaps I am missing your point.
Right, the video is from 5 days ago.
Everything the interviewed individual stated is being confirmed as credible by events we've witnessed up to and including radiation levels in sea water and rain reported just now.
the guy is a talking head with his own agenda...he's not technically conversant in any of the issues.
he's talking about negligence over a 50 year old reactor design originally built 40 years ago. As if we can backdate today's technical understanding to the 1950s
