"This Is Not A Program to Salvage the [Greek] Economy, It's a Program for Pillage Before Bankruptcy"
The best quote on the Greek parliament's vote of confidence for Prime Minister George Papandreou - and thus his austerity plan:
"This
is not a program to salvage the economy, it's a program for pillage
before bankruptcy," said Alexis Tsipras, head of the small opposition
Left Coalition.
It's not just Greece.
As PhD economist Michael Hudson said in 2009::
- The giant financial institutions have already killed their host - the real American economy
- Since
they realize that the American economy is dead, they are trying to
suck as much blood out of America as possible while the corpse is
still warm
- Because the American economy is dead, their plan is to soon jump to another host. They will ship all of their money overseas

True true again.
Yet if you are to look at it impartially, the plan is quite brilliant.
So since the big-picture/macro-world is FUBAR’d, all we can do is make our little-lives/micro-world the best it can be.
Wake up those you can, those who are willing to go to some dark places. For the majority, those you cannot, remember to treat them with compassion, kindness and respect.

We all live in a global pillage now.
And I thought they said village,
note to self, get q-tips.
I'm thinking Brazil will be the next host. Some of them have moved there already.
spooz,
do your homework bro, do you not know due to a 45% increase in the Brazilian currency, they are buying up Miami.
Soon you can go to South America, and never leave the states.
Already can go to Kooba in Mihami.
With the value of the Ju S dolla we can buy up?.......Outdoor toilets?
GW, this is the kind of things you do well.
although citing PhD economists around these here parts doesn't carry much water.

"although citing PhD economists around these here parts doesn't carry much water."
Indeed. Thank goodness for Robert Reich ;-)
Here he explains it all for us plebes...the reason that the government is mired in debt is not because the government spends too much, oh no no no...why its because it taxes too little. He does not say that if we increased taxes on the rich to 70% or even 90% it would balance the budget...because even he knows he could not get away with that bold of a lie.
At the end, he explains (as only a classic asshat moonbat PHD can) that the reason the middle class is suffering is because we don't have enough credit...that is to say...debt.

Well done Robert...please remain seated in the faculty lounge with Summers, Romer, Ghoulishby, Orzag and the rest.
...and the people refuse to look at themselves or contemplate what they would actually have to do to make real change...

Hear-Hear GW the soothsayer!
I have news, they left the mother ship for greener pastures long ago. What you see in the US is a mopping up operation.
First they went and carved up the former Soviet block. Now they are sucking Europe dry.
Hong Kong and Singapore are infested with them. They are still in the planning stages though. They are trying to figure out how not to get slammed into a Chinese prison.
Putting those folks in a Chinese prison would be a service to the world.
Chinese prisons are too good for em, send them to Mexican prisons.
William - your pictorial summations are brilliant and much appreciated.
One more before bed and probably the last thing I have to say on this site…
…I started commenting on Zero Hedge because I wanted my ideas to be challenged, because I do want the good guys to win.
So let me say in response to the only person here I know who lives in HK, but also a message to all, alive in “this year of our lord 2011”: at the end of the day, I just wanna kick it in Neptunes.
Teach your children well. Mankind is progressing and good things are happening. Let’s all try make those things even better.
Not quite sure what you are trying to say relating to this Greek's situation.
Short, sweet and to the point.
If there are people out there who fancy themselves good guys, then they should ______ about this.
