Number 2 Reactor Explodes, Damaging Core Containment Structure

George Washington's picture

Washington’s Blog

There has now been an explosion at Fukushima reactor number 2 (reactors number 1 and 3 experienced explosions previously).

NHK reports:

The
sound of a blast was heard Tuesday morning at the troubled No. 2
reactor of the quake-hit Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant, the
government said.

The incident occurred at 6:10 a.m. and is
feared to have damaged the reactor's pressure-suppression system, the
Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency said, citing a report from the
plant's operator Tokyo Electric Power Co.

MSN notes:

Chief
Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano told reporters that "damage appears on
the suppression pool" -- the bottom part of the container, which
contains water used to cool down the reactor and control air pressure
inside.

"But we have not recorded any sudden jump in radiation indicators," Edano said without elaborating.

If
confirmed, it will be the first direct damage to the reactor since a
massive earthquake and tsunami battered Japan's northeast coast on
Friday, knocking out nuclear plants in Fukushima, north of Tokyo.

Kyodo News is reporting higher radiation levels North of Tokyo after the blast.

Nominally, it was about just enforcing existing law, which would have stopped Loughner.    He sounds very reasonable reading off the TOTUS in in his particular way.   Those speeches are engineered to get him elected, not to state actual policy.

With such talk, Obama is tacking to the center rehtorically, but meanwhile out of public view his appoitnments and appointees take action against human freedom, such as advancing UN "human rights" treaties that would supercede the 2nd amendment, appointing a statist brady bunch prick to ATF, appointing Eric (Americans don't need guns") Holder....and, oh, I almost forgot super retard Janet Napolitano.    These folks hate most of the Declaration of Independence and the Federalist Papers.    What they do is about what King George was up to back when.

Well fuck, now I feel better.  Eighteen, once we have tighter gun control, then everybody'll just hold hands and sing Kumbaya.

Nineteen, why can't we all be friends and treat the pirates in the Indian Ocean and the folks engaged in civil war in the MENA countries with qualified counseling and anti-depressants.  Like we treat our own so successfully.

Anyone who believes these explosions were caused by hydrogen is a fucking idiot. (At the time I'm posting, I'm happy to report that a search on the term "hydrogen" on this page turns up zero results.)

I say this as one who has worked in a reactor plant, having been trained specially in reactor plant water chemistry. Yes, hydrogen gas is generated in water near the ionizing radiation of the reactor fuel. No, it could never generate one-billionth of the quantity of hydrogen gas required to explode with this much power.

This is a September 11–style false flag attack on Japan.

The false flag the MSM will spin is that this was Mother Nature and inadequate engineering specifications. In fact, neither are to blame.

I too love a good conspiracy theory, and 'keep lists' of people who uh 'need to be spoken to' about things like 911. But this was no HAARP attack. I don't even care if someone works out the last space shuttle's orbital path and finds it was directly overhead the epicenter at the exact moment... because the net result was Japan moved 8 meters to the East. Ergo there was a lot of stalled crustal slip, and it slipped.

Yeah, the timing may have been influenced by extra strong Lunar tides or whaever. So what, was going to happen eventually.

I knew the Japanese and Chinese don't always see eye to eye. But this seems like a heck of a lot of trouble to go to, to get 8 meters further away.

This conspiracy theory is too much for even me to put any stock in, but it can be argued that the Evil Empire Powers That Be Elites use energy to control the world's population (that part I believe).  The EE needs to eliminate nuclear power from the menu because it's getting too widespread a technology and they're losing their control over it.  If there were some way to get the world's population to just use the EE's fossil fuel (or abiotic if you prefer), then they could maintain their control over energy.

Just a theory 'cause you asked.

Why the same reason they do everything BigJim, to de-populate the globe.

Do you think it is purely coincidental that the two major energy sources (oil, nuclear) are being undermined at the same time? Add to that, a spike in the cost of food and you have a recipe for "disaster", or solution depending on how you look at it.

The name of the game is de-population. Does 500 million sound about right?

Just wait till the "threat from outside our world" or whatever they had Ronald Reagan seed into the collective psyche, takes place, my bet is it won't be long before they decide the time is right for that and they will take advantage of any opportunity (don't waste a good catastrophe?) if indeed they did not cause this, which they may have, but I believe there is something up with the sun, causing earthquakes, etc, and that we are headed toward a pole shift and new ice age as well...

I recall during Three Mile Island there was a heated argument between two nuclear experts, one stated a hydrogen bubble was going to explode, the second argued the first expert was using the wrong equation and there was no hydrogen buble. The second expert was correct, there was no hydrogen bubble. There is a documentary on this with inteviews of those experts and other involved.

But, how could this be a fasle flag attack? Since earthquakes can not be predicted, how would the NWO plan the reactors to explode using the 9.0 earthquake as the excuse? Stuxnet, is that you?

No way can HAARP cause earthqaukes. Read up a little on the energy needed for a small 3.0 or a 4.0 earthquake and there is no way humans can trigger a major eathquake, not on the scale that we have seen. There is good coorellation between underground injection of chemical and biological agents under high pressure causing earthquakes in Colorado, and drilling/fracturing of rock for geothermals wells cuasing earthquakes in...Nowray if I recall correcting, and some shallow smaller earthquakes form hydraulic fracturing for gas wells in the Southern US, but no way to create an 7 or an 8.

Besides, once the stress has been released, it will take a long time to build up again, then you would have no earthquakes during that time.

Think plate tectonics as the stressor and the recent x-class flare/CME as the trigger.

Those protons (Hydrogen nuclei) IMMEDIATELY find electrons making monotomic Hydrogen (which blows up just fine).  The Monotomic Hydrogen atoms QUICKLY find unpaired mates and make H2.

If you were trained in Nuclear chemistry in ANY form (1st year colledge chemistry even) you would know this.

Guy Fawkes Mulder's picture

Those protons (Hydrogen nuclei) IMMEDIATELY find electrons making monotomic Hydrogen (which blows up just fine).  The Monotomic Hydrogen atoms QUICKLY find unpaired mates and make H2.

I said that there was no way such a quantity of hydrogen could be formed. Not even one-billionth enough. I was thinking of the reactor #3 explosion. Sorry for not being specific on that.

The shortened equation we were taught (shortened from about 10 equations the PhDs' decided was accurate enough for themselves) was that H20 splits into H2 and O2 by gamma radiation. And by testing the water chemistry you could test the hydrogen content. The amount of dissolved H2 in the water from normal reactor operations was superlatively minsicule in comparison with the amount of H2 it would take to blow up reactor #3. The Hindenburg didn't have enough hydrogen to do that.

We also had so much protection against any sorts of disasters that could potentially release the fuel into the environment that it numbed our brains. We had a gravity-driven supply of water filled with neutron-absorbing supplements that would poison the reacitvity of the fuel beyond all hope of it ever going critical again (criticality is a man-made and man-maintained pefect level of reactivity that produces a constant heat output) or supercritical again. We had this on sea-going vessels and on land-based reactors.

I admit that I'm not enough of an expert on physics to prove that it had to be a bomb or something sinister like that that caused the explosion. It's possible and perhaps likely that it was various gases under extreme pressures that caused the explosion I saw in this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_N-wNFSGyQ

I never said that Hydrogen couldn't be formed.

Go fuck yourself, tough guy.

put down your crackpipe and put yor tin foil hat back on...yer scarrin' me man.

This is a point well-taken by me. I take no offense at it.

I didn't know about Zero Hedge before one year ago. I have never taken an investment position on anyone's advice, including my own, because I've never taken an investment position on anything. At least not on anything more serious than letting the "money" I earned as an enlisted Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant mechanical operator (with "ELT" primary nuclear plant / secondary steam plant water chemistry training) accumulate in my Navy Federal Credit Union account to the tune of a whopping ~$11k bucks or so. After being prematurely terminated from my Navy contact for refusing to quit abusing alcohol, I let that account drop to zero.

As the money finally closed in on zero, I was forced to face my suicideality (that's a word) in a shit-or-get-off-the-pot moment on my twenty-seventh birthday. Failing to live up to my own standards, I chose to muddle along in life. Muddling along, I still had the problem to deal with of a monstrous society all around me that I hated but that seemed to be "right" insofar as I was certainly "wrong". But that changed when I realized that we were both wrong. Society was wrong, big-time, even though I was also "wrong".

Having been moved to tears years earlier by Oliver Stone's JFK when I was twenty-one or so, I decided at twenty-seven to investigate the whole JFK matter thoroughly, and figure out if Oliver Stone was blowing smoke up my ass with a bellows (search on the term "metaphor" in this link for a funny one-liner on Oliver Stone and smoke and a bellows), or if JFK was really whacked dead in a no-shit coup d'etat.

I realized, based on the facts, that he really was whacked by the "powers that were" back then. I soon realized the "powers that be" today are no less malignant now than they were back then, and are descend from them directly.

In one night, I became convinced of "New World Order" conspiracy after watching an Alex Jones movie. I became convinced of NWO not because Alex Jones is a genius and a bastion of truth, but because even after all his hyperbole, there is the basic undeniable truth to the New World Order -- a truth that is sequestered by the cultural leadership of the mainstream media channels.

Humans, on the whole, are a slave race, and it only takes "chiefs", "kings", "lieutenants", "CEOs", "capos", "dons", "officers" and "leaders" to take command of the biggest compartment they can manage for human society to organically form the "New World Order" without anyone intending it to happen. The leaders near the top of the compartments-built-on-compartments understand the awesome power they command, simply by controlling the compartmentalized lieutenants under them. The conspiracy to guide all men, all nations, all financial institutions, all corporations toward a "new world order" one-world pyramid power structure is not a hokey, nutty fantasy. It is a natural consequence of what men do for money and power. The lower men buy into the system to have money. The higher men buy into the system to have power and money. The highest men realize this, and have generally always realized this throughout history. The highest men are conspirators in the truest sense of the word. From monuments, art, and modern corporate logos, I infer that these highest conspirators are Zionists.

(But "Zionist" is just a code-word here that I use in place of another, more offensive word -- that word is not "Jew", but it is "atheist", "nihilist", "Satanist", "Luciferian", "Mason" who wants to take over the whole world in all its parts. Not the least of which is the ancient "Holy Land" of Sumeria, Egypt, Israel et al. They want to take over the whole world, all of it. But for some reason they are obsessed with this holy land.)

(Sorry if this means in the mind of the average reader that I've been smoking crack and lost my brain, but I swear at the least that I am a perceptive, circumspect, intelligent individual and if anyone were with me in person I could substantiate my position at length, so far as that person were constitutionally capable of hearing me. I won't substantiate it at length here because, of course, I'm already arguing a case that is entirely too long and too wordy.)

Ever since I've snapped suddenly into awareness of the NWO "conspiracy" (it's only a conspiracy at the top of the pyramid, while everyone else is merely in it to pay their rent or mortgage, or because they are deceived into a belief that the system is something other than what it really is), I've been spending time and energy towards learning the truth about how things really work. I've been applying a similar amount of energy sifting through conspiracy facts, theories, videos, books, essays, etc. as a good trader spends his energy staying sharp in the investing game. Lots of bunk tips and theories out there, but you have to sift through a lot of junk to find the true stuff.

So I've been reading ZH for just about exactly a year. I joined ZH three months ago (or whatever amount of time that it says when you click on my account) as this "GFM" persona because I felt at last like I could contribute things on par with everyone else, even though doing so seemed to me to be folly. It seemed so, because I felt like the world at that time was already so close to the brink of collapse that it would be a waste of effort for me to even try to build a reputation as a personality here.

As it was for doomers before me, I have spent my days over these past three months defying my own predictions, by waking each day to a day not very dissimilar from the one before it. The "sea change", the "fourth turning", the "paradigm shift", the "shit hitting the fan" seems closer than ever, but it sure hasn't officially happened yet.

...

Now to come around to explaining myself to all the disbelievers...

Well, I'm sure I can't explain myself to your satisfication. I can't justify myself tonight.

Does a psychotic, genocidal, elitist, Zionist "New World Order" cabal of conspiracists have the power to cause earthquakes?

Yes, probably.

Is the name of their earthquake machine "HAARP"?

Maybe yes, maybe no. I'll be damned if I could prove it.

Are they precipitating the big human die-off? Yes.

Did I overstep my own certainties today? Did I claim more was true than I could prove? Did I claim more was true than is actually true? Yes, probably. No not "probably": most certainly. I highly fucking doubt that I made no errors in what I have posted here on ZH today. Don't fight the tape and don't fight the junks.

There's no convincing anyone else of what I am convinced of, unless they are primed and ready to believe it. Whether what I believe is true or false, matters little in the minds of the men who read me. They will believe me or disbelieve me as they are bound to by their constitutions, and the "true", the "false", the facts, and the fiction are merely coincidental.

I've been trying to find a way to explain things such that most people can understand me. I'm going to try harder now. Or maybe I'll stop trying altogether. The more you fight the New World Order, the more powerful it seems. The more it seems like you should just join it and quit bitching.

I get my will to oppose simply from the fact that the NWO is predicated upon lies, hypocrisy, and ultimately suicide, and from the fact that I value truth more than power or money.

I meant to look into the Japanese reactor explosions tonight, to see how wrong I was or to perhaps glean something that proved me right. Instead I drank two quarts of beer, watched some shitty HAARP videos (I've yet to see good evidence of HAARP's earthquake-causing powers), and then wrote this up.

I have been following the news via Twitter.

The collapse just keeps happening.

Welcome to the new dark ages.

Awesome post, GFM.  This is one of the best things I've read in the comments section here in a long time.

Update: While I originally posted this comment about 11 hours ago, I just experienced another day of the same ol', same ol' here on ZH: Tyler's ahead-of-the-curve news coverage and brilliant writing, some witty and insightful moments from the commenters, and, of course, the mental and spiritual abortions that post under the IDs of "mynhair" and "william the bastard".

However this comment has stuck with me throughout the day and will stick with me longer.  GFM, you nailed it.  You articulated something that some on this site understand; yet, it is so difficult to explain without sounding "crazy".  But whether it is here on ZH or out in the "real world", it seems that most won't Get It because they can't Get It - either because they can't face how hardcore reality is or because they think this system will be good to them in the end (quick tip: it won't).

Once again, awesome work.  And I second the comment above that you should turn this into a thesis.

Number Two lost *all* coolant for over two hours per the reports I've seen on the BBC, meaning core temperatures in the vessel reached 1200C+ fast.  Last ditch efforts to pump seawater into the thing were stymied for many hours due to immediate pressure buildup (when seawater hits 1200C) caused by the failure of the blowoff valves that would have vented the dry (radioactive) steam / hydrogen / oxygen / etc., since the pumps could not overcome the backpressure, leaving the core dry even longer.  That there's been an explosion means the blowoff gas valves opened and the hydrogen probably ignited within the building.  The core itself is probably already critical... as are cores one and three to some lessor degree. Fascinating, man's hubris...

LMFAO. Do you even know what "critical" means? No.

Fascinating, your ignorance.
