The thought of competing HFT engines trying to head fake each other is both hilarious and pathetic.

Within that link Megan wrote: "But financial meltdowns don't offer villains, for the simple reason that no one person or even one group is powerful enough to take down a whole system."

good news from pay czar Feinberg according to the banks for whom he will be authorizing compensation:
"he (Feinberg) is not beating the populist drums"
Now I'm curious...what, in your opinion, is coming???
speaking of compensation.
I am a free market kinda guy. so I say pay Hall his 100 million.
Then cut his balls off and hang them around his neck as a good luck charm.
Only fair.
There is no free market and there never was. Pay is not set by the market. Pay in wall street is set by a cabal of incestuous fiends and that's the reason we need a Pay Czar. If we have a free market system where greed has not gone into overdrive, there would be no reason for a pay czar.
The US government owns Citigroup. The US government owns Phibro. The US government owns Phibro's trading strategies and data. The US government should publish all that data on the internet.
See, you put the Government in charge of something, and look what happens?

welcome to the NYSE . press 1 to give goldman your money. press 2 to give credit suisse your money.
LOL
Very funny.
Wonder if the Anonymous folks could be assigned numbers? Or maybe just call that log-in name "Sybil" (as in Shirley Ardell Mason)? Sure is hard to get a good flame going for Anonymous without irritating a whole lot of folks!
Hey who you callin'
and we are not a number we are a free man/woman

No outage. Just no one buying anymore.
That is, except for competing HFT prop desks trying to get a leg up on each other with fresh Fed ammo from the treasury auctions.
The thought of competing HFT engines trying to head fake each other is both hilarious and pathetic.
Your tax dollars at work!
They are trying to pull their frontrunning Algo's off the exchange but they are having problems now....they know what is coming but they are just trying to fix it so when the regulators come there will be "No issues" ....watch...
The roach motel...they will never be able to remove it...Assigning Madoff regulators to make sure it works just fine..lol
Now I'm curious...what, in your opinion, is coming???
The plague...lol
I'm inclined to wonder if this has anything to do with the open door code access the NYSE provided on its system until recently.
I've heard reliable reports that the White House has suffered severe DOS attacks recently, though. Or at least say they have . . .
