One Angry Rant: "Land Of The Stupid, Home Of The Freaking Screwed"
Zero Hedge is not a political blog. We take every opportunity to expose the hypocrisy and corruption on both sides of the aisle. Granted over the past 2 years we have seen quite a bit more of it from one side, but that has been primarily due to that one side being in control, and as always happens to whoever is in charge, screwing things up. For the most part, we try to be at least modestly picky about how we express ourselves now that politics and finance have become more intertwined than ever in history. The same can not be said about the following clip from Drinkingwithbob who appears to have said "basta" to diplomacy, and delivers one of the more memorable rants against what everyone knows to be true but few are willing to say out loud. If nothing else, it is... cathartic.

Wake up? You wake up. Read the Constitution. It is not enough to be an American to be President. You have to be a Natural Born American. Is it that difficult to comprehend that there is a special qualification? It was put in place to prevent exactly what happened, a dual [in Obama's case, a triple or more] national from taking office. It is called divided loyalty. Taking the story at face value, with no challenge to what Obama claims happened, without any proof, it makes him ineligible for office. His claimed father was a British Subject, Kenya being a colony of the U.K. at the time. He was not a naturalized citizen, a immigrant or anything else, he was a student from another country, himself a national of Kenya with British Citizenship. That means Obama was born a British Subject, later a Citizen of Kenya, and has a claim to American citizenship if his story is true. Of course, the laws at the time and the age of his mother means he would not have American citizenship if born elsewhere, but we will go with Obama's narrative. So there are three nationalities already. Then he was adopted by an Indonesian married to his mother, and grew up there. While there, he was declared by his mother and adopted father Indonesian citizenship. That's four. The fact he had more than one at birth disqualifies him for office. It has nothing to do with your idiotic comment "like that's something special anymore". It's called the law of the land, wake the fuck up yourself, dumbass, and be ashamed you don't even know shit from shinola. You are just as stupid as TPTB want you to be. If we all though like you, "dude", Putin could be President and you would be good with it.
He doesn't speak the truth. He's (by my guess) some coked up tool who's coming off of a 3-day Glenn Beck bender.
Is Obama been an effective leader? Has he done the things he promised to do during the campaign? In both cases, we can safely say no.
Is he the 'worst reality show in the history of america'? Hardly. He's not even in contention (although he still has 1.5 years)
Blah blah blah..Socialism! Fail. The only "socialism" Obama's guilty of is continued corporate welfare. And heaven forefend that the president actually attempts to develop a consensus of relevant parties to deal with international problems like Iran.
Now, I know it serves your silver-pushing agenda to cast Obama in the worst light possible, but maybe its time for a new business model.
man, i hope you don't own any silver. you don't deserve it. a consensus? you fucking troll...
Oh boo hoo, the silver bug called me a troll.
And yes, consensus. Here's a little lesson in power politics. When Mommy and Daddy (Russia and the US) don't communicate, it is easy for clever little Jimmy (Iran) to arbitrage the two. However, when Mommy and Daddy present a unified front, its much harder for little Jimmy to get away with his shenanigans.
Now, tell me again why silver is such a valuable commodity all of a sudden? Are we heading into some sort of apocalypse where we'll all have to schlep silver ingots around? Or is it that you've got some and you're hoping that it'll bubble up like gold?
Now, tell me again why silver is such a valuable commodity all of a sudden?
Money printing. Nothing more, nothing less. Its the money printing stupid. The present money printing and the future money printing. More $$$ per ounce of metal on the planet. Simple math.
Silver production's gone up every year and the demand for it hasn't really increased..the value you're talking about is purely speculative.
It seems like any other bubble-driven asset class to me. Wonderful until the bubble pops, everyone needs liquidity and realistic price discovery starts anew.
production up but physical inventory down. possibly someone trying to catch the shorts by cornering the market. claiming bubble out to be the end of the discussion, just like on other internet chats where naming hitler does the same.
come up with some thinking, or go frak yourself
and that's why i junked you
troll
What difference does it make if its above ground silver or below ground silver? There is only so much silver on planet earth. Dollars on the other hand, are increasing exponentially. More dollars per ounce of planetary silver.
Simple!
"demand for it hasn't really increased"
Ignorant yammerer. Industrial demand for silver is the fastest-growing component of all, growing 20.7% last year alone to nearly 500 Moz. Industrial demand is also projected by the Silver Institute to absorb 100% of world production by 2015. For the math-challenged, that's just 4 years from now. That will leave nothing for jewelry or bullion demand.

You have a HUGE amount of homework to do.
Hehe...He said 'price discovery.' I remember when they used to do that.
Fiat currency, the root of all evil and the end of the world. You hit the nail on the head brother.

Yay, another Obama apologist! I know it's tough to admit you made a mistake voting for this clown, but the more you attempt to defend him the more ridiculous you look.
This presidency is an absolute disaster.
Well, if the republicans would've offer a viable candidate instead of The Maverick and Caribou Barbie, I'd have voted differently. Obama's fail, but you can't hang the shambles that our political and economic system has become entirely on his doorknob. Not with a straight face, at least.
so you walked in and voted for a failure...that makes you a failure.
As opposed to you, who voted for..McCain? Paul? No One? hrm..none of them succeeded in their goals of getting elected. Is there some sort of transitive property there for you as well?
nah, I didn't waste my vote; I voted for someone who would have actually meant a change.
That was not Muhcane. So your guy won the popularity contest and now you are sitting here saying oh shit. You got made a fool of and conned like a mark.
And now you want to try to pretend like "who knew?" I knew.
Obama's fail, but you can't hang the shambles that our political and economic system has become entirely on his doorknob. Not with a straight face, at least.
That's so awesome. I love that straw man. As if I were actually arguing that. I see what you did there. "A" for effort.
Obama being an abject failure doesn't absolve or mitigate any of the other abject failures before him. He just happens to be occupying the spot currently.
I'm sorry that it hurts your feelings to see so many people banging on your boy. Deal with it.
Obama being an abject failure doesn't absolve or mitigate any of the other abject failures before him. He just happens to be occupying the spot currently.
True, but Obama failed to veto Congress' irresponsible deficit spending, and acted to increase spending, hailing the increased spending all along. The "spot" he "happens to be occupying" affords him the capacity to restrain Congress. He let the Pelosi-Reid Congress rack up debt so fast we are now close to levels(*) last seen at the end of WWII...when we had a couple dozen million men fighting overseas just about worldwide...but in peacetime.
(*) In % of GDP terms, naturally.

This guy needs to do what I did. Go to the humane society and adopt a halfbreed mutt with a sense of entitlement, name it Barry, and kick it all over the house every night.
Now thats cathartic.

It is almost funny seeing the Democrats here junking you and sticking up for Obama. Also funny how they always say both parties suck when we know Obama and the Democrats have bankrupted America. They squeal about Bernake, Dimon and Geither plus Masters. No it's more Obama and the Dems. They always say both parties suck when the Dems are far far worse along with RINO Repubs like McCain.
Obama is a corporate stooge.
A complete weakling.
Obama has absolutely no idea how to affect change, or what "change" even is.
So far he has presided over the bailout of the banking system, a THIRD war in Libya and failed to uphold his campaign promises. Obamacare is patently unconstitutional and will go nowhere.
Obama has abdicated authority to the Geithner/Bernanke-fronted oligarchy. And worst of all, he seems completely oblivious to any of the staggering, existential issues confronting America.
If Obama had any balls he'd fire Geithner now and get a secretary of the Treasury who is openly opposed to the Federal Reserve. Then we'd see the much needed power-contest between the Federal Government and the Banking Cartel which *everyone* knows is the dominant power globally (and in America).
All that being said ... he still ain't making Bush look good.
We have no fucking options in this country. Republicans. Democrats. Both different flavors of the oligarchy in power.
To quote The Matrix: "We need guns. Lots of guns."
The last great president might have been Andrew Jackson? How sad is that? Wilson, Eisenhower, FDR, Kennedy, they all knew what was ailing this country and stood idle by and watched it die or themselves. Jackson's last words will echo through US history- I KILLED THE BANK!!!
Silver @ $150 that's next.
When do you estimate?
The longuer it takes, the better off we'll all be.
For the moment there's not a week going by that I don't buy extra.
At 150$, I don't think that I'll be buying extra, that will all be for the lemmings who will just be stepping in.

Wait silver is still a BUY? CNBC said its a bubble.
CNBC loves Apple, which they admit is up 800% and is fine yet silver only doubled and CNBC says silver is a bubble. CNBC at their finest... (crock of mindless jabbering bullsh*t!).
You're absolutely right markettruth. It amazes me that even Jim Rodgers is talking his book and saying silly things like silver at $100 is parabolic. What a jackass. We all know Jim went long the dollar--he said it was due for a bounce--and has been hammered. Jimmy Boy is taking a page right out of Goldman's playbook, take down an asset, while you buy hand over fist.
Seriously, silver parbalolic at 100 an ounce? That is literally ridiculous. At 100, and Gold a 1,600, it's merely the 16-1 ration silver SHOULD be selling at. Plus, gold has been manipulated to keep a lid on it too, so Gold should continue to rise to 2-3000 an ounce, easy! Where's that put silver? 187?
Even that's cheap. Seriously, would you rather own a dollar headed to zero or silver that is going to vanish due to hoarding? I mean, really, where is the investment at Jimmy Boy?
I mean, shit, I know you're down on your long dollar trade but to call silver a parabolic move at 100 that would collapse in price due to it's bubble charateristics is patently foolish. But he knows this....the jackass is talking his book, trying to get a way to get heavier in silver.
Normally I like Jim. But it just goes to show, everyone, and I mean everyone, is taking a me first attitude. That is why I am creating a fortified compound....with more ammo and fire power than are armed forces will be able to handle.
We have not even seen the limit at which Ag or Au can go.
At historic levels, adjusted for inflation, Ag at about $3400 which puts Au at $212.
Lots of room yet for reaching historic levels.
" silver at $100 is parabolic. What a jackass."
That's not quite what Rogers said. I heard the whole interview, and he said "if silver goes to triple digits this year that would make me think about selling. On the other hand, if the dollar is confetti while silver is $150, I'll keep my silver."
He made it clear he's still very long silver. He's just not comfortable with the rate of appreciation, and neither am I. Silver is my #1 hedge, but running from $18 to $47 in a few months invites profit-taking, at least in paper silver. The question is how far, and for how long, does a paper sell-off depress silver while shortages persist?
yup, it all comes down to the COMEX ponzi collapse, so we can have a real mark to market.
26th delivery date!
Definitely don't buy now...sell or hold, i'm doing the latter because i think the price will hit 50 again before summer
www.forecastfortomorrow.com
I think by July. When all the analysts are picking $100 by the end of the year, it is time to bet in a contrarian manner. Things may blow up a little faster than everyone thinks.
SLV July options for $60 will pay off nicely if this happens and if SLV is still around to give you the money.
Silver to $1,000 and beyond. FRN's to the dumpster behind the Bank.

I just noticed silver almost hit $48.00 an ounce today. Kitco chart was not working look at www.goldshark.com.
When Silver goes over $48.70 (Hunt Brothers High) The MSM will do a short segment detailing how stupid buying Silver would be and do an interview with the Hunt's if possible.
goldshark's silver search for prices has been broken for days. It quotes for Provident anyway about $10 higher than the real prices. I got tricked by it the other morning.
America...the strongest country in the world...
wtf...more like the country with the biggest credit card.
People shouldnt get so attached to things....like their country...has it really taken this guy this long to figure out that america is run by dicks...what a twat
"The things you own end up owning you"
just a regular american...sad but true....i guess anywhere in the world for that matter (the rats here are just fatter)
thats why we need ruling elites to guide the sheep as much as people over here might disagree because of where we are right now...but, i suppose this is just another stage after the fall we start again...not with rats like that though...
i been wondering about this...
the sheepherd had always been painted as a protector of the herd. To save the sheep from the wolves.
But in reality, the sheep are just a commodity to him, he protects them because they provide for him. He slaughters and exploits them for his gain and lives a better life than sheep can even dream of.
I wonder whether the sheep can survive on their own...
thats no justification for bad/criminal leadership though...
yes, we need leaders but no doubt like night and day, plus and minus there are good and bad leaders...the same struggle between good and evil i suppose...
at the end if we are getting the short end of the stick with asia ...that in itself shows we need changey and hopey as the smartey put it...
yeah welll its all good...we always survive...please dont awake me up ...let me dream...
Only way for that to happen is if the inner soul awakens in each individual sheep and guides them. This whole system is designed to keep the sheep from doing just that. Happy Easter ;)
you too! nice touch w/picture
The elites can, and should, effect the change. See my post above.
after a good reading of history i don't trust so called elites to sh*t in their hand and name it.
If only the sheep experienced, just for a split second, what you describe, en masse, it would be over in a heartbeat. A shift in collective consiousness.
The country/system is designed specifically, from cradle to grave, to prevent this from happening. I tell you, no matter how you rationalize it, how close you are, how much they trust you, they simply CAN NOT fathom anything outside of their sphere of shit in-take. It is going to take a heck of a lot to spur an awakening.
I see this a lot, what you say.
You are the one with the problem. Stop trying to fucking control everything.
You need to come to a realization, not the sheep.
And this realization is that everybody is not CAPABLE of getting it NOR of waking up and even if they were, most wouldn't WANT TO.
So why are you standing there pissing into the fucking wind? You may as well yell at the fucking clouds for raining when you don't want them to.
Let go of the egalitarian "we all are equal" BULLSHIT that you believe. And why do you believe it? It's an even BIGGER delusion than what the sheep cling to.
I guess without it, what...everything seems purposeless? What seems like injustice becomes just? You lose your RIGHTEOUS indignation at it all? This last one is really probably it.
I'll remember what you said about sheep waking up the next time I have one of you "freethinkers" call me a nazi or racist for pointing out simple facts.
A lot of truth in what you say. Everyone wakes or not wakes up on their own time. Some like the dream, some are even capable of creating their own perfect life inside of this collective reality on this spinning rock. I guess that's the beauty of life, all of these individual perspectives of reality that are probably more connected then one can realize or comprehend. One of my all time favorite movies is inception, what if everything was just a manifestation of what your innermost thoughts are? What if it were just a matter of being able to vibrate at the right frequency of said manifestation.
when i first woke up i went around telling anyone that would listen. i mean after all, coming from a neocon religious right upbringing more or less, believe me, this was all extremely new to me, to say the least. but after a few years, i realized i was wasting my time trying to change people. most will never get it. most do not care. most don't want to know. i can tell you from experience, it is very hard slugging , getting anyone to listen to anything of importance. the level of conversation of most americans is the left right paradigm at its best and dancing with the stars at its worst. their values and beliefs are shaped by people they listen to on the radio, like limbaugh, hanity or savage or medved etc. this is the extent of their personal knowledges about politics and what is going on. it is good enough for most of them too. they do not try to find out on their own what is going on. they let others do their thinking for them. a big mistake , i might add. but you see, i was once just like them. but one fine day, something happened and so i woke up and the fire started burning inside of me, a fire that will never go out.....once you have it, you will know for sure and your life will never be the same again. it will cost you a lot. friends will forsake you and family will disown you. for you see, as i have said before, for most americans, it is easier to believe lies that learn real truth, so they do and nothing good ever happens for them and they wonder why. most of them are in the matrix and cannot be retrieved from it. they are gone. this i know. this i understand. this i acknowledge. i asked my retired FBI neighbor the other day, what will become of them. He said he wasn't sure. But he said when the hunger comes, we must do what we must do. I will do it too. No doubt in my mind. The way I look at it is simple. We are talking about survival here. Oh they laughed when I told them. They laughed when they were given the message about the bad times that are coming. They would not believe it. So then, when these bad times finally come, what then? Am I to , feed them and feel sorry for them when they laughed at me and scoffed at me and told me to get lost? God forbid it. It is easy to forgive ,but only a fool forgets. There will be no help coming from this soldier in that day. On that you can be sure. The view from the cheap seats, high in the nose bleed section, on this Good Friday night..........
What dream? The US life is real. It only appears as a dream for people who no longer have/wish they have an access to it.
There is very few sheeple. Only aware US citizens that are duplicitous and other US citizens who are angry because they were tossed out of the bowl. Therefore for the latter, it is all about a dream.
If you understand gang, you understand the US.
That's a nice rant Trav but you should probably stick to talking peak oil if you are going to miss the target by as much as you have. This "control" you mention is an illusion, but if you think you are separate from one person on this planet or one slithering worm in your backyard, you know not of what you speak.
If one is awake, one has the duty to awaken others. Not through violence or aggression, neglect won't work either. It's a cradle-to-grave gig, some of us are up for it, some aren't.
Please elaborate on your final paragraph, I'm not sure it makes sense. By definition, "freethought" or conceptual thought such as your perspective, both are thought and all thought is dualistic so I'm not sure you're making sense here.....
I'm saying that this forum has a bunch of people who studiously pat themselves on the back over their socially accepted "freethought." They think of themselves as progressive or alternative because they have discovered some shit about PMs or the Fed.
But when you bring up anything too near the edges of politically acceptable discourse, they revert to PURE sheep.
Go onto some open forum and post this shit about the Fed or Obama. Watch THEM call you a nazi and a racist.
That is what I get called. Should start seeing some parallels here.
I don't think you are either nazi or racist Trav, I have actually learned a good amount reading your oil-related posts, a subject I was not knowledgeable in prior to. I'm sure many can say the same.
Unfortunately those that spout such "tags" as racist/nazi here or elsewhere, have generally been pretty deeply brainwashed into believing that ANY contrary images to the ones they hold dear (themselves unknowing that such images have been FORMED for them to identify with by those painting their desired image of the world in the impressionable minds of the unconscious) should be labeled racist/nazi or an equally apalling equivalent. As you said previously (correctly) they don't necessarily want to be removed from their identification with the world that the system has created in their eyes.
Having seen/studied/experienced this in depth, it is not a "reightous" mission or anything of the sort to try to point directly to the truth. Of my very, very few beliefs, I do feel it is a necessary responsibility bestowed upon all of us that have experienced a taste (be it brief or lasting) of ultimate reality to try to point others towards it.
Good luck to you.
Trav your observation is correct. These nancy boys from white boy schools will sit at the desk and post shit but as soon as you threaten their or parents way of life they shit themselves.
White trash from yuppie dick high.
For the record your way of life is about to be changed dramatically. You are desprately hoping that the white boy establishment will keep the Chinese in check and what little power you and your families have will remain.
Unfortunately you parents and your leaders have sold you into serivtude kids in China concubine high..
Start greasing up kids China daddy comin home.....
no; if it comes to it we will just destroy China.
...if he's this angry now, i can only imagine how upset & mad he'll be when our currency collapses !! (rightfully so, may i add )
On those rare occasions when the sheep have been "free", the carnage and chaos have been so great that the sheep quickly pleaded for a strong leader. The ancient Greeks and Romans went through this repeatedly. If you want to understand the human condition, read history. You will find that the commoners and the elites have been at each other's throats right from the beginning. The Roman nobility used religion, bread and circuses to control the rabble. Nothing has changed. The few who can think (hopefully most ZHers) should be able to adapt themselves to their environment and live comfortably. Isn't that the best you can hope for? Don't tell me it's impossible. Even some Roman slaves eventually earned their freedom.
Also, don't expect revolutionary change to come from the uneducated, persecuted working classes. Change has nearly always come from the educated upper middle class. They are the only ones with the awareness and understanding and resources to get the job done. The uneducated, more often than not, will be bought off by their oppressors, and will often resist the revolution. It is always dangerous for oppressors to alienate the upper middle class. Absolute despots will sometimes solve this problem by killing the leaders of this class. Look at the unrest in the Middle East. The leaders are young, educated, and tech-savvy, frustrated by kleptocratic regimes that don't even care enough to build a working economy with jobs for their people.
There is no perfect poltical and economic system, because there are no perfect people.
"People are a problem." Douglas Adams
why SHOULDN'T the rabble be controlled? They are fucking RABBLE!
JFC, do you expect me to go in front of a herd of cattle and command them to rise up and throw off their chains? Stop rolling over for "the man"?
Where is the fucking NOBILITY in revolution? Did you people NOT understand Brave New World?
I've got bad news, man- YOU are brainwashed. You and the savage and all the revolutionaries, a bunch of idealist fools. People are who they are and there's nothing you can do about it.
If you believe in the fundamental "equality" of man, you are brainwashed. Because it isn't true.
Arab problems are caused by arabs, low average arab education and a filthy religion clung to by people of low average intelligence. Those who would have a chance to "make it" like in the USA but who can't because of poor bloodlines are the agitators.
I wish we were all as smart, enlightened and forward-thinking as you, and whatever Hobbesian nightmare alternate reality you exist in.
You're talking about 'arab bloodlines' and we're supposed to take you seriously? And you don't think the west has had a hand in crafting the current spate of 'arab problems?"
LOL...you are blaming the white people for the faults of arabs? Wow.
See what I mean? As soon as someone posts on this, you cannot HELP but parrot what your conditioning has convinced you of. The bottom line is DO NOT QUESTION DIVERSITY AND POLITICAL CORRECTNESS.
I wish you were as smart as I as well; this conversation would go a lot more smoothly.
Arabs are not white? A true scotsman fallacy.
Trav, your racist analysis does not stand up to even the slightest scrutiny. There are uneducated, violent classes in every race. The people that Caesar encountered in the British Isles were like wild animals. For every person that al Qaeda has killed, the US has killed thousands in our "war against terror". The dark ages of Europe ended only a few hundred years ago. The Christian religion has a very high body count. These arguments are doomed to fail. Human nature is basically the same everywhere. The lower classes have their flaws, and the upper classes have theirs. Only rarely have governments arisen which find a precarious balance of power between the two groups. And they are not always democracies. The ancient German tribes would kill their kings if they got too uppity. The problems of the human condition are stunningly complex. Religious and race-based arguments barely scratch the surface.
Of course my analysis stands up to scrutiny.
Your counter "argument" (I'm being generous) is what doesn't, because you seem to regard ancient history as somehow relevant to now. Then you go and talk about Al Qaida or something. And then Christianity.
I'm not entirely clear on what the fuck you are trying to even say, and neither are you!
Because all you are doing is kneejerking some memorized shit in a pavlovian response to an attack on your DIVERSITY/POLITICAL CORRECTNESS reality.
I'm trying to unplug YOU from the Matrix and you are fighting me over it.
The problems of the "human condition" INVARIABLY trace to the SAME ROOT CAUSES.
Trav some people ARE equal than others, the others don't don't get that part. Lenin is the classic example of what to revolutions, the revolutionaries become the elites and we start all over again.
The people that Caesar encountered in the British Isles were like wild animals. ...
you are right GMJ and these animals as you call them, stopped the romans cold too. I want my people to learn to be like that again. There is much work that needs to be done. for you see, to fight animals you have to be a animal too. sorry, but those are the breaks. if a rebellion starts here, there will be many things that i see that i won't like. but i will remain silent. the anger will flow as it should. so be it. let it flow.
I am responding to Trav's racist argument. I can't respond to 100 arguments at once. The racist argument is a loser. The primary determinant of human behavior is class. Beyond that point, one can argue that a certain race has a much larger lower class than another race. Some examples of class-based policy: testing as a requirement for voting; employment as a requirement for having children. The problem with class-based policy is that it often gets under the control of racists, and becomes race-based policy.
You can't argue that the white race is morally superior. Technologically superior, yes. But not inclined to be merciful toward those it considers inferior. And not merciful toward each other. And very, very greedy. All the while professing Christianity. Try to see this issue through the eyes of someone from another race, say an Afghani. Do you think they would share your flattering self-image?
If I take pigment out of the equation and make voting contingent on an IQ eval and successful completion of a uniform basic civics course (120 or better and 90% or above), am I still racist?
How soon they forget who kept the flame of progress alive for centuries and helped pull their stupid, lily-white asses back out of the dark ages.
who did? other caucasians?
Let's see here...Greeks, Romans, Turks, Persians...seeing some parallels here?
It was never the africans, nor the arabs...east asians weren't a factor until the renaissance where whites traveled there, not the opposite.
And yes, you are still racist; blacks will fail that test in abundance and there won't be very many black voters. At 120, you are 2 and change sigmas from black mean IQ in the US. Gives you a percent or so that will qualify.
what you say is absolutely FALSE!
The black children of wealthy blacks score at about the same level of scholastic aptitude as POOR WHITES.
In fact, there are a number of studies, one of which was commissioned by WEALTHY BLACK PARENTS to have a black scientist analyze their kids and figure out why they were doing badly!
The things you believe are not true, ok?
I care not for race much because I deal with individuals. Let them stand or fall on their own merit. Just recognize that given the disparate distribution curves that you will not have a race-neutral outcome.
This will be true if you fund sickle cell anemia or use merit-based admissions or administer a 100m race.
I am sensing that Bob isn't really on board with the whole hopey-changey thing.
10$ gas will throw what's left of him flying off board...as the wagon moves full speed ahead towards the destination...
$10 gas is not a threat to our economic well being. Just ask Uncle Ben.
$10 Gas...
Obummer and "Empty Suit" Holder are right on top of that one... Those two idiots probably can't even find a gas station...
No doubt. I'm sure John and Sarah would have been doing a much better job of this.
The American bubble is popping.
Right in front of our eyes.
Like watching a fatal car wreck in slow motion.
Get out of the Dollar while you still have time.
I used to tell the guys at work: we are hopelessly screwed up. But all we have to do is be less screwed up than the others. It's the same with America. All the major powers have terrible problems, of which global resource depletion and overpopulation are the worst, IMO. So now we will have a race to the bottom. It's not clear to me that the US will come out worst. Compared to China, we have large arable land area and low population. OTOH, we are terribly addicted to oil, so our consumption patterns are going to change fast, and Americans are not going to like it. Also, we are well on the way to a Balkanized society, which I predict will cause terrible governance problems in the near future. You can make the same arguments for China, India and the EU; it's a matter of degree and timing.
I don't think your line of thinking holds water. The global economy is interconnected and interdependent in ways that it has never been in the past such that the failure of one leads to the eventual demise of all (derivatives, sov debt exposure, etc).
I think what you say is true of currencies, but there isn't likely to be a recovery for the least ugly duckling alone...you'll still need someone to export goods to, in order to dig out of the debt-hole in which each nation currently finds itself.
I think overall access to crucial resources like cheap energy will be the biggest determinant of the winners and losers going forward with those able to adapt and conserve as you indicated taking a lead. Those with the natural inputs to move off of difficult to retrieve resources (China) will also have an advantage.
In some sense, the ability to "keep a lid on it" will be a determining factor as well...China can control riots from pesky citizens better than the US would be able.
I don't see where we disagree.
How soon everybody forgets. The people did not vote for Obama, they voted against Bush. It didn't matter who ran. A stuffed dummy could have won for the Dems.
A politician does the opposite of what he promised. Who could have seen that coming?
You are 100% correct. Just like in 2010, when people voted against useless incumbents, and elected anybody who ran against them, many of whom happening to actually be stuffed dummies.
A stuffed dummy did win.
I disagree.
First, Bush wasn't running it was McCain.
Second, remember all of the Bumper stickers, Tee-Shirts, with Obama Images, and slogans? People voted for Obama because they believed he was the Presidential Messiah, bringing World Peace, end of Banksters, and universal free healthcare! Gay marriages, Double entitlements. They envisioned as a God who would deliver them to the promise land that could never happen.
I wasn't aware Bush was running against Obama.
When given a choice between having Sarah one infarction from the oval office and a dummy, I think I'd still pick the dummy. A dummy wouldn't try to entertain the illusion that it had a clue.
And that ain't no political statement -- thassa fak.
the way you people talk, you'd think Paylin collapsed Alaska totally and destroyed the entire State.
Last I heard, it was doing ok even with her at the top of its political pyramid.
Was never a fan of her beyond her tits, but still don't really get the hatred and the idiotic shit you say about her compared to Blama. Blama is a motherfucking Teddy Ruxpin who's never held a job in his goddamned worthless life. I doubt he went to a freakin CLASS even in his entire college career.
He's a gigantic NOTHING, a "concept" into which idiotic stupid white fuckers pour their racial guilt and hopey dreamy nonsense fairy tale wishful thinking.
How in any way could Paylin have been worse? I mean, we hear minute by minute how the Prez is a fuckin puppet...she was going to be NOT a puppet?? If so, then HELL YES, vote for her and the wooden indian mfer and hope he dies!
ANY non-puppet at this point is a step forward.
So what would Paylin have done WORSE? Could she have been MORE for Wall Street, gotten us into more wars? I mean, what exactly was the downside?
So, is that what you call 'buyer's remorse'?
I'll have what Bob's having -- and make it double !
Well, it IS Friday. In my younger years, we would often have "cold olive soup" for lunch, never to make it back to the office (and yes, the boss was with us). By the time dinner came around, many of my fellow yuppies were IN the soup.
Such were the good old days. I too have some fond memories of that. One thing you forgot however - How can you forget the lingerie modeling during lunch at one of your favorate restaurants?
We've been meaning to talk to you about that...could you like shave next time? Cuz damn.
Obummer is just another tool on the path to destroying the freedom of a once prosperous nation.
It all began with the creation of the Federal Reserve.
Actually, I take that back. It began when Lincoln spat on the States Rights and invaded the South.
1. The states have been useless appendages, like tits on a bull, since the Supremes defined the phrase "interstate commerce". They started taking federal money decades ago, and now they are hooked. They are nothing but mid-management for their masters in D.C.
2. If, arguendo, your state was your sovereign, big money would rule over you, anyways, and they would have an easier time doing it. There is no particular reason to believe that your state currency would be tied to PM.
The States started taking money from the Federal Government only AFTER the Federal Government started taking taxes from the states on a manner other than apportionment (as was the original intent of the Constitution).
Also, at least with 50 States, I am sure some of them would retain real money as opposed to the FRN bullshit.

Actually, it began with the dinosaurs...
I agree
Lincoln broke the spine of the American Republic
the imposition of income tax & money made by bankers put a bullet in its head in 1913
What state's rights were those? The right to own human chattel? The right to perpetuate a feudal agrarian economy? Yeah..he would have been a real citizen if he'd defended those rights.
It wasn't about slavery, nimrod. Slavery would be cast aside in good time. The War of Northern Aggression was about consolidating power in the hands of the New england banking houses - period.
My how times have changed! In 1810 there were slightly over 7 million people in the U. S., and 1 million of them were slaves.
Today there are somewhat over 300 million people in the U. S., and, what, about 50 million of them are slaves? That would be those totally under the thumb of the new government master.
How anyone can read ZH and yet still believe the history that the Victors fed him in his young school years is beyond me.
For those who think the Civil War was about slavery, did you ever ask yourself why the Emancipation Proclamation only served to free the slaves in the Rebellious States?
Outrage!
Fatigue.
Bitchez.
I understand this guy, and honestly he has the reason in the major part of the piece.
Just maybe i dont want to be offensive, US is not the strongest economy (currently)...as some one has told before me, the biggest credit card tenant yes..
Obama has lost control.
Ron Paul is the alternative.
Obama now reduced to talking about his Twitter subs numbers and giving speeches to 8 year olds, and even THAT crowd has to be hand approved as now most kids would laugh at him.
hugovanderbubble: "Obama has lost control."
Barry Soetoro -- 2012 Campaign Speech
CREEP -- Committee to Re-Elect the President
Obama gave away control when he let the Pelosi-Reid Congress deficit spend at unprecedented rates for the first two years of his term. One of those years he permitted the House to not produce a budget at all, which is according to the law of the land, their job. Now he is not only letting the Boener-Reid Congress continue to ruin the country, but promising to ruin the country (for example via his henchmen such as Timmmay at Treasury) if continuing resolutions approving ruinous levels of deficit spending aren't to his liking.
The ship is sinking fast and yet he's promising to cut loose all of the boats and set off the powder magasine, if anyone even tries to bail, nevermind if they get near hands near the bilge pump starter switch.
The explanation that he plans to, wants to crash the system entirely is the only one left. I.E. not stupid, just evil.
What he lacks for being late, and behind, he makes up with passion. I hope he tain't alone.
walking on
broken glass...
I just had a Brain Aneurysm listening to this guy...
Somebody get this yakker egg packs/crates to staple to his bathroom walls. I hate hearing echo off of his commode.
This is good. I've been getting annoyed at the bumper stickers too (not as much as Bob). But I don't see many people wearing Obama t-shirts anymore. Obama is a losing trade. People are holding an underwater Obama position hoping that it will turn around. We'll see if these holders average down in 2012 and blow up their accounts. Cut your losses!
I viewed the thing twice waiting for the angry part...what saddens me is the 37% largesse seekers who will vote for this POS regardless of whether or not he can get the right leg into the right side of his trousers.
+100
Is this guy related to Crazy Eddie?
I just listened to him and went out and bought a new stereo
+1
Nice.
I couldn't vote for Gramps McCain, who promised to take us down the same road Bush was on. Little did I know this guy ended up doing the same thing.
Can anyone tell me any president over the last 40 or 50 years that has:
1) stood up to the financial elite, or
2) wasn't assissinated for standing up to them?
no.
I appreciate the sadness of the choices we had for President. BO is likely worse than McCain, but that is really just a useless pissing match. Both parties are losers and we need a new, independent, Jackson/Jefferson ticket that puts banking back into a place just slightly less important than garbage pick-up.
I think ill pencil in a vote for Drinkinwithbob. Now theres some change Ill believe in.
3) and didn't mortgage the empire deeper into a pit of debt?
There were other choices besides McCain. You could have voted for Chuck Baldwin or Cynthia McKinney or several others.
Americans need to turn off the TV and instead look at voting record and affiliations. If you would have looked at Obama's brief voting record you would have seen he was crap. He voted to extend the patriot act, he voted and helped usher in the bailouts, he talked about expanding the war in Afghanistan, and he was either a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) or at least pandering to them which should immediatly tell you he was / is shit.
Chuck Baldwin was a great choice and while many here may argue with me about Cynthia McKinney, foreign policy wise she would have been far better then Obama or McCain and she would have cut military industrial complex and other wasteful spending too.
People need to stop using their vote to vote against the person they fear. It likely has little to no impact now, but if you're going to vote, vote for the best available candidate no matter what the Corporate press tells you about "ability to be elected"
Snake eyes. YOU LOSE!
Go to Prision Planet. This is a planned economic implosion and a global merger, you will be happy to work in sweat shop conditions for food.
Too busy watching Nascar, Gladiators, NFL, Cage fighting, Jersey Shore instead of picking up a book and taking in some Chomsky, Vidal, Zinn.
Like even Tyler (no offence love the site even donated a small amount) pre GFC too busy making money thinking all ok. Typical mind set being if I did it everyone else can...
Snake eyes, American citizens. Globalists are at the door.
So cheery...damn that rap music.
We used to say, "they'd never get away with that, the people would rise up!" Well, they're getting away with it and the people haven't risen up yet. Maybe we are the land of the screwed. America allows despotism…
drinkingwithbob 2012 BITCHEZ
We are changing into the stimulus economy !
BO = presidential herpes.
It just keeps coming back and there is no cure.
The only thing worse than Obama are the incapable of critical thinking morons who elected him and refuse to admit that it aint a cold sore!
A good portion of Bush supporters didn't care for him and freely admit it. Come on, give up on this loser.
Funny, I thought that was the Bush family.
Obama never had control. He is just the actor carrying out the next scene in the play, which does not bode well for us! Good Luck!
