For those who might be interested.  News from friends throughout Latin America have been telling me that real estate prices have been surging for the past three years.

In Merida, Mexico prices have almost doubled.

Same is true in Montevideo, Uruguay from what I'm told.

Here's something along those lines. (all of 2 years too late)

So many different ways to break their economic plaything here, CDS, CDO , CDO squareds, buying mortgage shit shovelers,  backdoor shorting of long clients, a bald MERS assumption of our notaries, lobbyist open staffing of reform writing "representatives" offices.

Anyways, its quite easy to fix.

Just repeal, undo, and unglue, ourselves, from both "Modernization" Acts created by Sen. Phil Gramm-TX, in 1999 and 2000. That's when all this new mischief started!!!

The Commodity Futures Modernization Act, and the Financial Services Modernization Act (aka Gramm-Leech-Bliley Act) of 1999. Allows for obscene derivative manipulation of energy markets (Enron Loophole). Will stop the absurd CDS 600 Trillion notional...Restore the Glass-Stegall...

I will keep posting this until it sinks in.

For a shirt time I lived next door to Danny B. That is one crazy dude. Though he did have some physical talent. Quite the martial arts expert. Several times I went over and he would teach me a few moves. Of couse it was hard to concentrate with the naked chick passed out on the couch all the time. Sometimes he would be real high in the middle of the night and climb the street light. One of those concrete post types and climb it in seconds and sit up on top of the light for hours... funny stuff.

You know, I noticed this phenomenon last time I was at Longhorn Steakhouse.  1 - they give you about 1/3 of a loaf of that nice dark wheat bread, when they USED TO give you a whole loaf.

2 - the "dinner salad" came in bowls that were about 1/2 of what they used to be, all rim, no bowl.  Not that they weren't throwing most of that away, but that's not the point.

it's everywhere...

REALIST NEWS – BREAKING NEWS – MONEX OUT OF SILVER EAGLES APRIL 2011

Looks like http://www.kitco.com is also out of silver eagles. They do have some maple leafs and other coins but no silver eagles.

https://online.kitco.com/bullion/completelist_USD.html

From George Ure and Clif High (Web Bot guys):
A chat earlier this week with Clif ofhttp://www.halfpasthuman.com, about the way things are lining up for silver here shortly, bears mentioning about here. You may remember in some of the predictive linguistics work, there was and expectation that we would be seeing a day when silver moves $5.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will.
I sure could use a vacation from this

Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of
Freaks

Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.

Fret for your figure and
Fret for your latte and
Fret for your hairpiece and
Fret for your lawsuit and
Fret for your prozac and
Fret for your pilot and
Fret for your contract and
Fret for your car.

It's a
Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of
Freaks

Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.

Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will cuz
I sure could use a vacation from this

Silly shit, stupid shit...

One great big festering neon distraction,
I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied.

Learn to swim.

Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Mom's comin' round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Learn to swim.

Fuck L Ron Hubbard and
Fuck all his clones.
Fuck all those gun-toting
Hip gangster wannabes.

Learn to swim.

Fuck retro anything.
Fuck your tattoos.
Fuck all you junkies and
Fuck your short memory.

Learn to swim.

Fuck smiley glad-hands
With hidden agendas.
Fuck these dysfunctional,
Insecure actresses.

Learn to swim.

Cuz I'm praying for rain
And I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way.
I wanna watch it all go down.
Mom please flush it all away.
I wanna watch it go right in and down.
I wanna watch it go right in.
Watch you flush it all away.

Time to bring it down again.
Don't just call me pessimist.
Try and read between the lines.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't
Welcome any change, my friend.

I wanna see it all come down.
suck it down.
flush it down.

I've been running a logging geiger counter, we've had a few pretty significant spikes in the past couple weeks. Suprisingly the EPA's RadNet monitor for Phoenix is actually working now and showing them (back around the 18-20th.) Some of the California monitors dropped offline when it was getting a little too, er, interesting.

UPDATE on Vincent McCrudden - This is an injustice and I wish TD could post this with it's own thread.  New development in the story:

There is an innocent man in jail for an email that he didn't send and JP Morgan wives are collecting $220 million of the TARP money?  COME ON !  Where does it end?!  Isn't ANYONE GOING TO DO ANYTHING?!
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/the-real-housewives-of-wall-street-look-whos-cashing-in-on-the-bailout-20110411

On Monday, April 25th, the day after Easter, at 11:00 am Vincent McCrudden goes to court.
...Because these corrupt financial regulators that are supposed to be overseeing theft and graft like this by JP Morgan have targeted him.  They got the Justice Department to bring charges against him and he is being held in prison without bail, while big banks steal millions...and give it to their wives?

Come on... even you have to see how criminal this is.

Like Harry Markopolos before him, Vincent McCrudden blew the whistle on JP Morgan several years ago for manipulating the copper markets with Summitomo Bank.  They paid a $48 million fine, which is less than they made on the illegal activity and the $48 million went toward bonuses for the financial regualtors...and nobody ever went to jail.

McCrudden is in jail without bail on an email that he didn't send.

On Monday the 25th the government will try to defend their position of why McCrudden was arrested and the IP address that they could connect him to.

Turns out the experts in Singapore that actually supply the Internet service and IP addresses have sent an Affidavit stating that they cannot connect the email to the defendant, because it was a "public IP address with no required sign on," which means anyone of thousands of people could have sent it.

And yet, because they have been able to get the Judge to reject his appeals for bail when he clearly should have been granted bail....

on Monday morning at 11:00 in Federal Court on Islip Long Island at the Senator Alfonse D'Amato Courthouse...family and friends will anxiously support McCrudden and hold their breath and pray that he will be granted bail.

...when in fact, based on the facts...the charge should be dropped, because the government cannot prove what it set out to prove based on the response of the ISP from Singapore.

Enjoy your holiday weekend with your family.  Enjoy your Easter and Passover while McCrudden...an innocent man sits in jail for an email he didn't send... and for standing up to big banks and investment banks that continue to have a different set of rules with financial regulators that makes it "legal" for them to steal millions and billions.... and in this case give it to their wives...

Is it any wonder Americans are angry and disolusioned ?

See what Geraldo had to say about it:   www.HelpVinMc.com

We hope to see you in court on Monday at 11:00.  If you would like more information feel free to respond and we'll get back to you with details.

This is a big deal.  It will be interesting to see what the Judge does...and how the Government manipulates its case...almost entirely on circumstantial evidence and speculation....and yet the Judge has allowed them to keep McCrudden in jail without bail anyway.

Wonder what will happen Monday.

My guess? On monday, the criminal justice system will once again live up to its name.

Prisons the world 'round are filled with political prisoners as innocence and criminality are words filled with legalese.

As far as angry Americans go, well, deep-down they realize that their "freedom" is granted in exchange for keeping quiet and maintaining the facade.

Fri, 04/22/2011 - 15:46 | 1197255 Forward History
Forward History's picture

America is going the way of Rome. I just thought I'd compile a few reasons why:

1) Addiction to cheap, sometimes nigh-slave labor: Rome had its slaves, and a good chunk of the capital's actual citizens were basically wards of the state by the time everything came crashing down. In the U.S., we have farmed our jobs offshore, of course, but we rely on goods exported by countries that make their workers disappear if they complain. We "need" illegal immigrants because they "do the jobs that no one else does".

2) Rome debased her currency and churned out so much of it to the point that massive inflation set in.

3) Towards the end of her life, the people that once swore death before Kings had completely imperialized their system of government; the elites ignoring completely the rule of law -- the Roman leaders were the first progressives, in a sense, disregarding the horse and buggy rule of law and taking the position of "those who simply know better". I go back to illegal immigration again for another example of the rejection of the rule of law: consider the fact that a tax-paying citizen is subject to far more government scrutiny than someone whose first act on our soil is literally stepping over the law of the land. When ten thousand illegal immigrants protest in public, is it not surreal that the national guard doesn't step in and begin the deportations? So there might be violence. Is the alternative of shrugging off the law considered acceptable?

4) Massive social programs: your average day as a plebian in the second century started with you going to your sponsor for your daily handout(s). Rome heavily subsidized grain production. Look forward to America and federally-subsidized retirement, health care, disability, transportation, energy production, on and on and on.

5) Obsession with the stupid, the base, and the violent. Need I say more on this point?

6) A collapse of moral fortitude, a complete disregard for the "true Roman" way of doing things. A dissolution of the country's national identity and rich history and a rise of a class of people in it for their next handout. Did you know that 1/3 Americans can't identify the YEAR the 9/11 attacks took place?

7) Massive military action across multiple territories. A move from a volunteer citizen military to a political force all its own. I don't think this one has played out just yet, but Eisenhower's warning rings true in that we are hopelessly addicted to the MIC.

I'm rambling; this is a very incoherent statement and not my best, and I'm sure others have said it before. But we have to keep saying it, you know?

"Do not blame Caesar, blame the people of Rome who have so enthusiastically acclaimed and adored him and rejoiced in their loss of freedom and danced in his path and gave him triumphal processions and laughed delightedly at his licentiousness and thought it very superior of him to acquire vast amounts of gold illicitly. Blame the people who hail him when he speaks in the Forum of the 'new, wonderful good society' which shall now be Rome's, interpreted to mean 'more money, more ease, more security, more living fatly at the expense of the industrious.' Julius was always an ambitious villain, but he is only one man." - Marcus Cicero

Subject: Yuan's It gonna happen?

I wonder if all the chatter about a Chinese Yuan revaluation over the weekend will be proven true...wonder if the massive trucker protest was a catalyst (along with the inflation they are protesting)?

http://www.zerohedge.com/article/china-inflation-and-wage-protests-spread-turn-violent

The Federal Reserve is Scheduled  to have it's first press conference next week April 27th at 2:15 ET after the FOMC meeting. See link below for one take on what is to transpire:

http://www.cnbc.com/id/42701543

I disagree with Mishkin (on many things, he is the Napoleon Dynamite looking fellow some of you will recognize from Inside Job)  that QE2 will be ended on June 30th (stimulus in one form or another will continue in my opinion).

Here is the top economist in Oregon (University of Oregon since 2002), Tim Duy's (worked in the Treasury and for the G7) Fed Watch blog that offers insight into the Fed and inflation risks along with other interesting tid bits. Peruse around and glean his opinions for yourself...

http://economistsview.typepad.com/timduy/

BTW it stinks that the dollar is declining in value as I am in London and $#^! ain't cheap here to begin with! Imagine going to New York (expensive already), then Imagine your money is worth half of what it was back home. Many of the Londoners I meet talk of how they love vacationing in New York City because it is so cheap! Current conversion of just jumped up to 1.6515 per http://netdania.com/Products/live-streaming-currency-exchange-rates/real-time-forex-charts/FinanceChart.aspx

A level that has not been seen since November of 2009 but who's counting anyway...again watch out if the DXY drops below 71... the last support on the chart for USD.

Have a nice day!                                                                                            I sent them this before also...if they are your freinds and family think we/you should speak out and inform even at the risk of someone crumpling your tin foil hat... Subject: Listen LISTEN TO THE INTERVIEW BELOW AT and read his the bio on who the interview is with JAMES TURK, who advises many large hedge funds.

http://kingworldnews.com/kingworldnews/Broadcast/Entries/2011/4/20_James_Turk.html

download the "mp3", by clicking on it (it says "click here"), that is available on the left hand side of the page from  the link above... and listen to the interview...Dad do it too... this guy know his stuff. Been in market since 1969.. the key is take away is as the Europe news gets worse again (Greece/Portugal) the US Dollar is not acting as the safe haven it did in the earlier crisis ...but Silver and Gold is as confidence in the Dollar erodes especially after the recent S&P downgrade on US outlook and warning of possible downgrade from AAA.
See this:     http://www.zerohedge.com/article/stunner-sp-revises-us-outlook-negative

The non partisan Congressional Budget Office issued this report in time with the S&P downgrade and was probably a major reason the downgrade occurred:
http://www.zerohedge.com/article/obamas-budget-increases-deficit-41-over-cbo-baseline-over-next-decade

The only way to fix things is huge cuts to SS/Medicare and DEFENSE (oh bummer we just passed new health care spending and have two wars waging and are now involved in Libya) spending, and real tax reform (read make it simple and transparent less offshore lobby/loophole BS ), and thus far nothing has been done by either party about these issues so this is bullish for gold and silver, and if huge drastic cuts are made in the above programs then and only then will it be bearish for gold and silver vs the US dollar. But there will be huge outcry from the public if this austerity hits and it will make them trust the government less because it shows you can not trust the governments promise to provide for you, so one could argue that that could be good for gold and silver too.  Bottom line is the USD ( united states dollar ) is between a rock and a hard place.

the DYX has broke below 74  TODAY last seen in Nov. 2009 and is currently at 73.75 last support level is at 71 seen in mid 2008 just before the peak of the last credit crisis in the fall of 2008.

University  of Texas took delivery of 1 BILLION in gold.
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-04-15/texas-university-endowment-holds-almost-1-billion-in-gold-bars.html

Precious Metals(gold/silver) are about to go much higher and the Dollar is about to go lower. It is a bubble that is about to start moving exponentially as all bubbles do before they burst (like the Dot.com bubble). The bubble will burst when a new world reserve currency is put in place or at least one currency that is convertible or backed by gold/silver.  In the 1970's you had the Deutsch Mark and Swiss Franc ("harder currencies") as safer havens from inflation but today gold and silver is the only thing since the dollar will eventually have to be reestablished at some point to some sort of non-dillutable standard in order to preserve some worth after they (FED) dilute enough to make the huge debts we are in worth much less.
It is still very cheap. Please do not brush me off I have spent 2 plus years learning about this... ask me questions instead.  When we have to raise the debt ceiling in a month or so the Dollar will go down more... if the GOV do not do it the Dollar will collapse quickly=higher gold and silver.  When QE2 ends on June 30th (600 Billion bond buying program=monetizing our debt=money printing) the economy will start to lag again = higher gold and silver. If the FED continues to buy bonds (extends QE2) then Gold and Silver will go up.
Here is a dumb video that explains what QE2 is all about so easy a caveman could understand it:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTUY16CkS-k

And here is an article from the Financial Times (just as, if not more, respected as the Wall Street Journal) which I have a free membership too, you should sign up for the free membership too but anyways here is the basic explanation from the FT:  http://lexicon.ft.com/Term?term=QE2

Most fund managers were wrong see this from Feb 1 2011:  http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704254304576116232308946552.html

The last article was in response to the Whitney prediction that has a nice summation here:  http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-02-01/whitney-municipal-bond-apocalypse-is-short-on-default-specifics.html

Oopsie Poopsie they were all wrong there is reason to panic evidenced by this 2 short months later: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-03-30/dimon-says-hundreds-of-municipalities-in-u-s-won-t-make-it-out-of-debt.html

You know what can not fail (not fall I know there is downside risk, but the upside is huge short term) is gold and silver it was been worth something and rising in value for thousands of years.
This article sums up the historic arguments for gold and silver: http://dailyreckoning.com/value-of-silver-vs-value-of-the-dollar/

I follow the raw data for myself here at:
http://netdania.com/Products/live-streaming-currency-exchange-rates/real-time-forex-charts/FinanceChart.aspx
just select "instruments" in above the upper left of the chart to change what the chart shows you... you can add volume by clicking on "view" and selecting show/hide volume the time frames across the top of he chart give you good perspective of the market (1 , 10 ,15, 30 refer to minute intervals which are represented in the blue/red bars as one unit of either 1, 5, 10 ect minutes) the same applies to 1hr, 2hr, 8hr.  "D" refers to day "W" means one week (so each red or blue bar represents a whole days or weeks trading respectively) and 'M" means max data available.

Also http://kingworldnews.com/kingworldnews/King_World_News.html  is a great site with top people in the field that tellsometruth (I participate on zerohedge.com under tellsometruth)
Please take the time to respond and open up a dialogue on this I will answer any questions that you have.

And then there is this out this morning that shows no will to reign in current measures by the FED, I do not believe (and many others do not research it for yourselves) Ben Bernake (Fed chair  Pres.) when he says he is "100% confident" (from 60 minutes interview) he can and will know when to stop stimulus measures in time to prevent destructive inflation to the Dollar.  He has already lied about monetizing the debt, which is the half or the whole point of QE2... they want inflation, and have such large ego's that they think they can control everything.
