There was a time, long ago, when the dollar was a flight to safety instrument. Those days are gone. DXY barely budging as the overnight session begins, while silver has already put $34 in the dust. Last: $34.26 and parabolic.

April Crude lieterally flying off the shelves. All those who thought the 4 pm price was a misprint and shorted... our condolences.

Well its my first time playing with fire. I took my puny 5 onces on Friday. the 2011 walking liberty is singing sweet nothing in my ear right now. I'm in california so there retail tax on anything under $1500. and I pay $3 over spot from the dealer. but no shipping charges. there is definatly two prices for silver. the paper price and the take physical posession type. have you seen what the US mint wants to charge you above spot for a gold coin when they finally get them in. the idea that it takes $200 to strike one coin and yet they have none to deliver is blowing my fucking mind. I also picked up a digital micrometer and pocket degital scale at harbor freight for $25. all told if I bought bulk($1500 or up) I would be in profite right now. as it stands I need $44/once to break even. however I dont have to buy a new scale and I'm working on a deal to exhange my placer gold I pan in the summer for silver at a much more favorible rate then 70 percent. I'm also talking with a few friend so we can pull our money and get the 2% cash discount and make purchases over $1500. that way I'm only looking at 5% to 6% gain in silver spot till I'm out ahead. there alot to learn for us newbs.

Ever since andrew Mcguire the idea of a silver short squeeze has been talked about here. The bears said it was to happen on the upcoming delivery month. I believe that the fact that silver has been outperforming gold by so much is a confirmation that someone is asking for delivery of a good part of the 700 million ounces that is backed by only 100 million ounces of physical. I think the trajectory of gold is people losing faith in dollars, yen etc. I think the trajectory of silver is that plus a squeeze.

I just bought a few 10 oz. CMX bars for $322 on Saturday. Going for $370 now. Not bad $48 per bar in 2 days. The ones I bought for $160 make me feel even better. Go Baby Go!

I would stop buying when other things you want/need are relatively inexpensive compared to buying more gold/silver. For example my wife and I just bought a bunch solid wood furniture on clearence (floor models) rather than save more because it is something we had been waiting to purchase for some time now.

It really depends on what goals you have in terms of purchases.

As I understand it, interest rate increases will sink the .Gov thru higher interest payments on our hilarious debts, and will put a BOOM HEADSHOT through the zombie of real estate, which will pile more dirt on the "'ees not a dead parrot, 'ees sleeping" TBTF banks...so I think they may 'threaten to raise rates' but do not think they realy can, at least to a point that would make a difference.

Hope they try though...I'm looting the piggybank and feeling under the cushions for more fiat to convert into sweet, sweet silver.

higher interests rates would raise the value of houses. private lenders would have a reason to loan again. why take a 30 year risk when free money to be had. create an incentive to loan again and more lenders will emerge. there already is a huge demand for houses. just need the liquidity so demand can be met.

No one buys a house, you buy a payment. When rates go up, your payment does as well; in a jobless 'recovery' who is going to pay MORE per month for the same house? No one; there fore if you want to sell, your housing price will have to drop.

I've started "finding" important notes on each bill that enters my wallet. Most say something along the lines of: "Prepare for inflation", "Buy Silver", "Fuck the Fed", or "Fuck BAC and JPM". Its a good idea -- whoever is doing it! ;-)
