and years ahead. But violent acts are what happen when you create a
climate of hate. And it’s long past time for the GOP’s leaders to take a
stand against the hate-mongers.

shooting “tragic”. OK, a bit of history: right-wingers went wild over
anyone who called 9/11 a tragedy, insisting that it wasn’t a tragedy, it
was an atrocity.

There is only maybe one standing division (no names) that would obey an order to shoot civilians...and the line officers would soon stop following the generals orders.
The National Guard (theoretcally) could be used across state lines, Michigan troops policing Fla. for example (so brother won't have to shoot brother) but soon this too would stop as, in the end, they are us.
They (officers & soldiers) are sworn to protect the Constitution...not necessarily the leaderships orders...they are also instructed to only obey what they deem as lawful orders, I know a few low ranking ones...they're good people.
