Paul Tudor Jones Calling A Top?

Tyler Durden's picture

Wondering why the market suddenly appears as if Bernanke said he thought the dollar has hit a technical bottom? The reason is that there is a rumor (for now) that Paul Tudor Jones has just called a top in the S&P, and is also expecting a bounce in bonds. Unclear if PTJ used the Tepper "balls to the walls" trademark when referring to the selling that may commence. And boy are we hoping the selloff with a huge surge in volume that
resulted, is not a response to what one man thinks or else there really
is no point in trading anything ever again.

if he is following EW he's fuked because they have no f'n idea except to call tops for every week of every month of the year in a hope they get 1 call right! ...we're at 9 months and counting, Prechter's been on TV 3 times to call the top and failed 3 times, and they have no clue about Gold, Silver or USD direction... you'd be better off hiring a monkey to throw darts at Index charts

Bernanke has to make sure the timing is right before he pulls the plug. That means JPM & GS have to get short before it all goes south. Crooks.

Bernanke's stuck.

He can keep a bid on equities, and watch liquidity spill over into commodities, driving up prices and leading to collapse in long bonds...

or...

He can let assets get hammered and use the resulting bond rally to buy time.

Something has to give.

Tudor and the Counter-party Risk Management Policy Group collectively as the CRMPG's untimate mandate is to keep the markets stable. Keep the stable or keep they progressively going higher to increase efforts that a higher stock market will lead to higher employment which is part of the Federal Reserves Mandate. The CRMPG is a private sector creation of the Treasury and the Federal Reserve. Interesting that a partner to the CRMPG is Paul Tudor Jones. If you look at the member rooster it looks like big bank, big bank, big bank, big bank, big bank...and one hedge fund. Paul Tudor Jones is one of the leading experts and participant in the equities futures market. Jones was short going into the 1987 crash. It is believed that the market only started to recover after it was thought that Jones had switched to going long. Jones firm recently developed volume- synchronized probability of informed trading, or VPIN process. They have filed a patent for it. They say they can use this technology to help regulators identify market crashes before they happen like what happened last May with the flash crash. It is not a stretch to see that this same technology would allow them to find the best times with the least effort to move the markets through equity futures.

Secretive? Paul Tudor Jones is one of the biggest hedge funds out there. Try to find a website for them. Once you find it see if you can find anything out about them. Also, before the market crash of 1987 there was a documentary about Paul Tudor Jones trading done for PBS. In the early 90's it was removed from the airwaves. Today if you want find the video you have to go to a China? Japan? Website. LINK Worth the watch in my opinion. Over the years I have booked the link for this video several times only to see it removed. This China link has been up for a while.

The totally depraved USD stud man is pissed, I tell ya.  After almost breaking out of the closet in Blankfein's office two weeks back, they nailed that door shut once more.  However, he is pounding again, and screaming Ben Bernanke's name again.

But I suppose you can go ahead and take confidence in L. Blankfein's carpentry skills, I guess.  However, it would seem to me that the endless selling short of the stud man has been nothing more than front running oblivion that, mathematically, eventually ends.

So I would caution anyone near GS headquarters that if that bastard breaks down that door and emerges into the room with a bottle of lube in his hands, you best run.  Personally, I think Paul Tudor heard all the screaming and took his cue.

Anyone seen little Miss Euro lately?  Has she been drinkin'?

The stock, commodity and currency exchanges have been reduced to gambling dens whereby the more powerful traders with deep pockets move the markets to maximize their own profits at the expense of the remaining not so powerful players. The big boys have enormous money power to move the markets in the direction which results in maximum profits for themselves. They effectively use the media to lure the other players in the market to a position where they would incur maximum loss.

The markets will fall only when the banksters have eliminated all the short positions and only they themselves have positioned themselves to profit when the market falls

OR

When an unexpected world event catches the banksters with their pants down and the softwares they use to rig the markets go berserk beyond their control.

True or not, the fact that even a rumor such as this could cause a high volume reversal on a dime shows just how fragile and precarious the market is, despite all the bravado and bluster.  If the market can reverse like that on a single rumor of one hedge fund guy's comments, imagine what the market action will look like when something of real consquence, like the next black swan event actually hits...
