Pentagon Papers Whistleblowers Call for a New 9/11 Investigation
The main players in releasing the Pentagon Papers were Daniel Ellsberg and Senator Mike Gravel.
Ellsberg
is, of course, the former military analyst and famed whistleblower who
smuggled the Pentagon Papers out of the Rand Corporation.
Senator
Gravel is the person who read the Pentagon Papers into the
Congressional Record. This act made the papers public record, so that
they could not be censored by the government.
Ellsberg and Gravel are receiving a lot of media attention right now for their support of Wikileaks.
But little attention has been paid to Ellsberg and Gravel's support for a new 9/11 investigation.
Ellsberg says that the case of a certain 9/11 whistleblower is "far more explosive than the Pentagon Papers". (Here's some of what that whistleblower says.)
He also said that the government is ordering the media to cover up her allegations about 9/11.
And
he said that some of the claims concerning government involvement in
9/11 are credible, that "very serious questions have been raised about
what they [U.S. government officials] knew beforehand and how much
involvement there might have been", that engineering 9/11 would not be
humanly or psychologically beyond the scope of those in office, and
that there's enough evidence to justify a new, "hard-hitting"
investigation into 9/11 with subpoenas and testimony taken under oath
(see this and this).
Senator Gravel has long supported a new 9/11 investigation. Gravel told the Daily Caller this week:
Individuals
in and out of government may certainly have participated with the
obviously known perpetrators of this dastardly act. Suspicions abound
over the analysis presented by government. Obviously an act that has
triggered three wars, Afghan, Iraqi and the continuing War on Terror,
should be extensively investigated which was not done and which the
government avoids addressing.
Other high-level whistleblowers have alleged a cover-up as well.
For example, Air Force Colonel and key Pentagon official Karen Kwiatkowski - who blew the whistle on the Bush administration's efforts to concoct false intelligence about Iraqi weapons of mass destruction - wrote (page 26):

have been told by reporters that they will not report their own
insights or contrary evaluations of the official 9/11 story, because to
question the government story about 9/11 is to question the very
foundations of our entire modern belief system regarding our government,
our country, and our way of life. To be charged with questioning these
foundations is far more serious than being labeled a disgruntled
conspiracy nut or anti-government traitor, or even being sidelined or
marginalized within an academic, government service, or literary career.
To question the official 9/11 story is simply and fundamentally
revolutionary. In this way, of course, questioning the official story is
also simply and fundamentally American.
Indeed, Ellsberg and Gravel join a long list of high-level former officials in the government and intelligence services - including many well-known whistleblowers - who have publicly demanded a new investigation.

This leads me to the conclusion that any murder and bombing attacks on the general populace or "low level" people should automatically be considered false flag events and the only time that that attacks can be trusted as real is when they are directly targeted at Bushies, Neocons, high level bankers and other high level people in the "elitist club".

Some of us go to the work of reviewing our underlying assumptions about the workings of our world. The more reliant we are upon the status-quo, the more difficult this is. Many of us are not constituted to re-examine, or self-examine at all. Geaorge WB and Sarah Palin come to mind.

'Cos I have to say, I did kinda wonder why the US government even cared about what has been released so far. A lot of it is stuff people knew or suspected, stuff that could be found out with relatively little effort via Google, or just petty name calling behind diplomats backs. There were bits of things that had been suspected and were confirmed in there, but overall, I couldn't understand why the fuss.
But the USA knows what they are hiding, and knows that WL know, and hence they feel they must stop them. Thing is, by attempting to silence WL in such a disproportionate fashion, they are making themselves look very, very guilty. "The guilty flee when no man pursueth".
Well, this goes some way into explaining why the US government is going to such extraordinary measures to stop Wikileaks then. Wikileaks is showing them that they do in fact, have stuff on them, but for now, only fat old politicians bitching about each other is what's coming out, albeit some little nuggets in there.
And now the publicity surrounding Wikileaks is drummed up, via Assange, via the ensuing controversy and PayPal/Amazon/credit cards blocking WL, and being blocked in return.
Then, when the world is looking, assuming WL has the truth about 9/11, assuming what we already know is not the truth, it gets released, and the world melts down.
Clever of them, really.

The analogy you're looking for would actually be the "Canned Goods" operation the Germans carried up just before invading Poland - dressing up people in Polish army uniforms, kiling them and leaving them lying around as "proof" the Poles attacked first. The burning of the Reichstag probably was carried out by Van der Lubbe, who was probably acting alone, with a slight chance that Comintern agents ordered it, an even slighter chance it was a false flag operation - though, of course, in the event Hitler's Nazis took full advantage of it.
As for the 9/11 terrorists - all evidence points to them, including the very salient fact that they got on the planes used. And they weren't just "extremists from the desert" - they were, for the most part, semi-educated men from the middle and upper reaches of Moslem society - in other words, just the sort of people easily bamboozled in to such a thing (look in to the number of such people in Hitler's Nazi movement, Lenin's Bolsheviks and Mao's cadres). "Semi-educated", by the way, because while they had a lot of technical knowledge, they had little knowledge of philosophical truth; a common failing in the modern world where we want practical men...unfortunately, such men can all too easily be used for wicked deeds as only a knowledge of truth would prevent them from falling for scams such as,for instance, Bolshevism or Islamism.
As for our rights as citizens - we are more stripped of them by tax and regulatory policy than we are by the inanities of junk touching airport searches of signals intelligence programs.

Conspiracy theories are an occupational risk of any democratic society. They free people from the need to consider what has happened and what steps may need to be taken. Its much easier to assert that "they" are behind all the problems rather than confronting the fact that the person in the bathroom mirror has played his aliquot part in making the mess.
Such theories are impervious to facts and logic. The fact that literal millions of people saw the planes hit the buildings - in person and on television - is dismissed as evidence; the logic which dictates that is such a conspiracy could be pulled off it could also be kept secret never impinges upon the thoughts of the true believer.
Boys and girls, it was Lee Harvey Oswald, a nut acting along who killed Kennedy. There are no aliens at Area 51. It was 19 Islamists terrorists who carried out 9/11 - using a tried and true tactic which goes back to 1921 Palestine when Islamists found that when you apply insane violence to Western people, it completely disorients them and makes them amenable to Islamist demands.
You want to fix the world? Then stop looking for Bilderbergers under your bed. Get up in the morning and do your duty throughout the day. The fact remains, though, that Islamist leaders in Palestine worked up an anti-Jewish pogrom in 1921 and got the British authorities to temporarily give in to Islamist demands vis a vis Jewish immigration - they learned that when you apply insane violence, you get at least part of what you want...and when you repeatedly do it, you can slowly push your opponent back as he offers concession after concession in order to stop the latest manifestation of insane violence. A minor but often overlooked fact: intelligence failure - specifically the inability and reluctance of intelligence agencies to collaborate - was also the conclusion of the congressional committee that investigated Pearl Harbor.
It's not like there was a think-tank that, prior to 9/11, released a study concluding that the political will to rebuild and modernize the military would require a new Pearl Harbor. And disabuse yourself of the notion that there was anyone in government leadership positions at the time 9/11 occurred that were signatories of said study.
