Physical Silver Update
And meanwhile, the repulsion to silver as exhibited by both the Comex (where as we predicted yesterday we see the first 32MM ounce handle in registered silver - a new record low), and Scotia Mocatta indicates that the silver paper and physical markets are in perfect unison. Or not. But yes, the feedback loop mechanism of SLV unwinds will likely have a greater impact on the paper market until such time as it once again reverses and aligns paper and physical interests yet again.

Dude! You're buying at the wrong places!
This is the shop I used to buy from before they had to stop delivering to my country for quota/tax reasons.
www.silber-corner.de/de/Philharmoniker-1-Oz-Silber-2010
supply and demand working its miracle.
too many buyers of physical, and not enough of it.
Sold out?
Sounds like Chilton and the CFTC to me.
Tulving now out of of many silver products too.
Where is the data - can you post a link to the physical inventories. Are central banks buying silver as well?
Bought myself some more physical silver on Thursday.
COMEX going to ZERO oz of registered of silver sometime in 2011.
With margin going to 100%, guaranteed. The fiat price will be manipulated down this way under the guise of combating "evil speculators", commensurate with Benocide unleashing $10 gasoline and $5 loafs of bread with no inflation present whatsoever.
It's those evil grain speculators driving up the price of food, the oil speculators driving up gas prices and PM speculators causing the USD to take a shit!
When is Obama going to bomb the country where all these Speculators come from? What is it again? Speculand? It's full of terrorists. I hear the UN is approving a No-Fly-No-Mosquito-Zone there.
Last time it was Bush and i think they HIT the world trade towers.
They had lots of skeletons to bury
Food and energy are transitory dontcha know.
FYI...HL reports on Monday, 5/9/11
$15 down --- re-establish bottom -- next gradual moves to 45 - plateau, then moon shot to 70+ and a Default. Least thats my call on a happy hour-less Friday afternoon
Where do you live where there is no happy hour? That place must suck.
C'mon 5 o'clock!
If the price moves up, the COMEX can be saved. They will be able to buy off the open market to meet delivery requirements.
It is low prices that will cause a default.
I would say it is analogous to the COMEX taking a bath in scalding water. The lower the price goes, the more of their body will be burned, and the longer it stays there, the more severe the burn will be. They may finally realize what is happening and climb out of the scalding water, but they will die from the shock (ie default).
Ding Ding Ding. Winner.
interesting
For those of you who missed it, yesterday we had a little revelation of what we already know almost for a fact: that there are tons of paid trolls on this site talking down gold & silver. Member "Gold 36000", whose been accused before by our fearless warrior tmosley of being a paid troll, posted at 19:35 a typical gold/silver bashing post. Then he screwed up and he responded to himself with his same "Gold 36000" persona at 19:39, saying something like: "Gold 36000 for president! You know, I don't agree with you on everything, but most of the time you're right." Someone should have the link handy.
haha fucking amateur troll hour too, utter basics trolling 101 mistakes.
lame lame lamer
That was funny. Also, ZH is creating jobs! Tyler should get tax writeoffs.
Based on the BLS, ZH and McD's is about it.
Nice catch.
Your fearless warrior tmosely? What, are you in kindergarten?
This line of thinking is what's wrong with ZH lately. If anyone dares to voice a differing opinion, they're junked and ridiculed. Some of you guys really need to grow the fuck up and not get bent out of shape when someone denigrates your precious little silver. It's just a piece of metal.
BTW, I own plenty of silver, but I don't start crying when someone insults it.
Voice differing opinions all you want. Topcalling troll does that, as do others. The PM trolls are quite different. They come on and lie in an attempt to separate people from their physical metal.
These people don't offer opinions, they offer false facts and bent truths. They don't respond to any type of argument. I happen to be fairly good at quickly spotting inconsistencies in logic and among factual data. Such things will not be allowed to pass unchecked by me, whether they are for or against my own position. I have corrected numerous silver bugs on matters of fact that had they been true, would have built up the case for owning silver. But I didn't.
Similarly, I could join with the truthers and claim that 9/11 was an inside job, which would add a huge amount of ammunition to my argument that all governments are evil, and that anarcho-capitalism is the best way to exist, but I don't, because the facts that I have seen all point away from government conspiracy.
This is not about whining, or getting bent out of shape, it is about the truth and lies. The truth must be ferreted out at all costs, even if it means some vicious idiot like long juan silver (aka William the Bastard aka MeTarzanUJane aka dozens of other names I don't remember) tries to get me fired or sends a mail bomb to my house. It is that important. It's not unprofitable either.
So joining the Truthers, who's central claim you find inconsistent with fact, would "add a huge amount of ammo" to your argument? Which arg would that be?
Inconsistency in logic, bitchez.
Reading comprehension FTL.
Tmosley actually said that if he just wanted to pad his argument against power and corruption he could just throw in with the truthers since their platform would dovetail nicely with his.
Yet he does not do so since his main aim is to reach the truth and he does not agree with the truthers. So in the end he does not embrace thrutherdom for the sake of expediency.
I comprehend it fine.
He claimed he could "add" to his argument, using arguments of others, that he has already examined and found inconsistent.
It doesn't add or pad an 'argument'; at best it adds (allegedly confused) "fans". There's a difference.
I think you need to re-read paragraph II in tmosley's statement. I agree with fuu's assessment.
What, the part where he brags about being "good at quickly spotting inconsistencies in logic" which "will not be allowed to pass unchecked... whether they are for or against" his position?
Right after which he says that making a claim which he has found inconsistent with facts would "add a huge amount of ammunition" to an argument.
Such tactics can only add "ammo" to a campaign of "propaganda", not logical argument.
Congratulations. You found my point.
I seek truth, and demand it from ALL sides, including my own. The PM trolls are not truthful in their assertions.
A is A, truth is truth. It's constant. Few people are willing to confront - let alone change - his or her worldview on sensitive issues. If I read it correctly, tmosely's contention is the opposite of what you accuse: he claims to follow the truth. What's wrong with that?
If anyone is guilty of propaganda it is you.
You're reading it incorrectly, if at all.
There is nothing wrong with following truth, or claiming to do so.
The inconsistency is simply the following claim: I could strengthen an argument by adding additional arguments(which I have already found/know/believe to be invalid).
Strengthen truth by adding non-truth?
Non-sense.
Thanks for the clarification - I read the exchange below...makes much more sense now.
No there's not. There's plenty of differences in us. We don't all agree on everything. Some people think bin laden really got shot. I believe the iraqi story of the US breaking some of them out of prison. I like the iranian leader. He's a nutbag but he's surrounded by psychopaths and they tend to make you a little nuts. Banzai hates the guy. We are seeped in controversial opinions about huge ranges of issues. Mosley is even more of a gold bug than a silver bug. But I think like me he came to the conclusion that it was an easier and good way to do what all of us gold or silver bugs want to do. Protect ourselves. Not allow people to steal from us through inflation.
Forcing people to agree with everything is a poor expression of intellect and a sure sign you are totally fucking up jupiter and sagitarius expressions. Some of us are racist towards black. Some of us are racist towards jews some of us are racist towards whites. I never gave much thought to jewish consipiracy but there's no harm in looking at it, seeing the history and expression of it.
But mostly zero hedge is a nice place to come and find a whole bunch of soverign individuals that will rip you apart in a soverign customized fashion. Something governments like to do to their people but hate when it's done to them.
Some (the most obnoxious) come here to beat down opinions that differ from their own.
Disconfirmation Biasn. The tendency to accept supportive evidence of a belief uncritically, but to actively refute or discount evidence that challenges that belief.
Example Citations:
In other words, when we think we’re reasoning, we may instead be rationalizing. Or to use an analogy offered by University of Virginia psychologist Jonathan Haidt: We may think we’re being scientists, but we’re actually being lawyers. Our “reasoning” is a means to a predetermined end — winning our “case” — and is shot through with biases. They include “confirmation bias,” in which we give greater heed to evidence and arguments that bolster our beliefs, and “disconfirmation bias,” in which we expend disproportionate energy trying to debunk or refute views and arguments that we find uncongenial.
—Chris Mooney, “The Science of Why We Don’t Believe Science,” Mother Jones, April 18, 2011
Let's see. What are the 3 highest expressions of jupiter.
Science, law, medicine.
Jupiter is expansive but you have to understand the inside/outside self other thing. Argueing can expand your intellect and get you to see things differently or you can attempt to compress everyone into a argument ecapsulation pill.
Jupiter expansiveness is often expressed as mass media, mass parroting, mass ego extension, massive ego and massive "righteousnous" which is just an attempt to make other people wrong.
Spending disporptionate times defending debunking or refuting a position is not disconfirmation bias. It's a power struggle. A dominate group creates and maintains a collective ideology. They easily outbattle the oposition at first. But the understanding grows and focus shifting matures until its easily brought into correct focuses to shake it. It become more and more embattled and eventually falls.
The Structure Of Scientific Revolutions.
That governments, and specifically our bloated and out of control government, commit tremendous acts of evil in order to cultivate power for themselves.
I would LOVE to be able to point to 9/11 as an example of a government out of control. But I can't, because their role was only indirect (ie blowback for propping up strongmen in the Middle East--violently).
Also, if you point out a logical inconsistency, you should enumerate it. If you question my premises, then do that.
Tmos,
I question no premis of yours. For what its worth, I agree with all of them.
The inconsistency is simply the following claim: I could strengthen arg A by addiding arg B (which I have already found to be invalid).
This might buy some followers, but it does nothing to build a strong argument.
The argument I was making was about my method or argument, so I can see where your confusion comes from.
If I was not interested in truth, and only interested in bolstering my own bias, or "winning" a given argument, I wouldn't have looked any deeper, and thought about how heat can travel through tunnels and retain enough energy to melt steel. I wouldn't have thought about the enormous forces involved in the fall of a 100+ story building rendering steel and aluminum into into nanoparticles.
I would have just accepted it as truth, and run with it.
That said, I am not perfect. But I try to be.
Sometimes I wonder what the harm would be in releasing the 80+ videos they have of the UFO that Cheney allowed to hit the Pentagon.
I guess they must have good reasons. Like Obama said recently, its because "Thats not who we are."
Still I wonder though... because I don't just accept it as truth. But I am not perfect either. I'm getting better though... especially after this whole OBL thing.
Believe me, I try and do my part. I like to focus on forgetting about the collapse of Building 7, mostly.
Our government's role was only "indirect"? Really? Please parse that logic out for me. As far as the evidence suggests there are elements deeply embedded in our political, military and covert establishment that were highly complicit. How is that indirect? I ask since others here seem to laud you as a genuine pursuer of Truth.
+911
Acrabble, be fair. Tmos is allowed his own interpretation of the evidence. All of us are.
His conclusions do not necessarily disqualify him as a genuine "pursuer" of Truth.
I think we all can agree on that.
Post your evidence, and I will post the fallacies and inconsistencies in it. If I can't find any, I would love that, because, again, I hate the government with a passion as an incarnation of evil that would put Sauron, his minions, and even his master to shame.
Cliff, you are a fuckin JOKE
You are a whiny bitch who has destroyed his reputation here.
Explain to me why anyone wouldn't be long silver.
I mean "long" not as in 3 days or 15 minutes. I mean long as in "24 months-10 years" long. As in, an actual investment. Not a for-profit attempt at riding the momentum or short term speculative bubbles. In a few years this "huge" correction will look like a pretty opportunity on a long term trend.
The reason people junk and "ridicule" these people is the proportionate opposite of how much they explain to us that we're stupid for holding physical silver/gold instead of paper... because at the end of that day that's all I hear in their arguments. Paper profits don't really matter to me at this stage in the game. I'm not a moron. I had AGQ and I also held ZSL to hedge against my "hedge" so to speak so I'm literally at very little of a loss and as I saw the tide turn I shifted my paper position to be SHORT silver. Who wouldn't? It was clearly crashing.
I'm concerned with a collapse. I'm pretty sure about 50% of the symptoms of a crash are an actual crash (very little forewarning), the other 50% is essentially everything we have going on right now in the markets and the global economy.
I've agreed with Dangertime a few times. Math Man too. Everyone says he's a "troll" (and he may be!) but he's just more of a trader mentality and I'm sure he's made some good paper profits on his shorts if he actually had them. While some of what he/they (the trolls) post pisses me off, he doesn't junk and talk shit to me every time I post about silver and share my opinion so I return the favor in not being a douche for no reason other than to persist the previous flaming.
At the end of the day money is money and paper is paper. The majority of these guys seem to change their positions with every comment anyway so that's another reason they get junked like crazy.
Then you have dicks like Hamy who just post shit that no one wants to read. Troll or not.
Prefer it if you clarify "dicks like Hamy(wanger) who just post shit"...
The Hambone enjoys the Hamwangers posts along w/ other ludicrous trolls.
Fact is we need the trolls to vet our own thinking otherwise we can easily fall into stupid, uncritical group think saying things like silver @ $50 (and the way we got there) is sustainable.
Anyone attempting to rid us of "trolls" does this site a disservice and isn't willing to allow that their thinking may be wrong. Particularly in the short or even mid term as so many of the permabears (but bears for good reason) wouldn't ever have guessed in March '09 where we would be today...or next Month...or 6 months from now.
Every buy / sell are two parties generally with radically different outlooks on that asset. Probably best to know what the other side of that trade is thinking?!?
Good Post! When someone says something the pisses me off, I'd better look into it and discover what was the "real" cause of the burn.

I enjoy having the trolls around. I love to laugh.
@tekhneek
Well damn, good post. I stopped posting here for a while because of the influx of newer members that drown out the good ones, but I'm glad I've come back to check things out.
For everyone else - install the greasemonky add-on and get the word-replacement script (there are a few out there), trust me, you won't be tempted to reply to someone after you've changed their name to FarkingGasbag. Also, it promotes laughter which increases your lifespan.
Cheers,
TT
FYI "Hamy" is just a goof on "HarryWanger" [who would suck a dick for more AAPL shares]. Those posts are supposed to be stupid.
Hamy is an ironic troll.

Sorry but you're wrong. I've posted "negative" info on silver & didn't get hosed down.
Give us reasoned discourse without all the inflammatory verbiage and you'll get respect. Look at your post, you are talking shit.
ZH will continue to expose them, that one was not even close to the first of many that have been out-ted.
Fallacies are posted, talking points regurgitated (my fav: CARLOS SLIM SELLING SILVER) LMAO
Truth is on our side.
the pessimist in me can't help but point out: the truth is on our side but the law is on theirs...until we revolt and kick every single politician out of office. this is going to be a looooong war between us and them.
I'd imagine he bought the mine to sell some of it... but not all of it.
Yes, it is called hedging you've just seen your main product rise to it's highest level in history . . . hmmm maybe it's time to take some profits to protect for that inevitable rainy day. I mean we are talking Silver here it is well known for skyrocketing and crashing. When you own something you protect it.
Way to many Koolaid drunk folks around here.
I have not seen the Carlos Slim claims refuted. I'd like to see a link if you have one.
I haven't seen them substantiated.
Never try to prove a negative.

The paid trolls are out in force on Facebook too this week -

Somehow I think that guy is joking.
If not, he'd last about 30 seconds here.
How can you read that and not think. This sounds a lot like robotrader.
My thoughts EXACTLY.

“Now, Slim would certainly have to pay a hefty price to take control of Fresnillo. The company is currently controlled by the Peñoles mining group, which in turn is controlled by another Mexican billionaire, Alberto Baillères.”
Anyone news on this? I don't think it'd be announced if he did procure it? Who cares...? The guy's the fucking richest man in the world. I'm sure he's got his fat fingers into all kinds of shit that's never reported.
There's an entire tab dedicated to "How to buy silver"
Shit's awesome. Where would I be without blogs like that?
still laughing just thinking about that.
Gold 36000 has been promised campaign money by the JPM and the Bernank himself. He'll get paid in green paper tickets... Good luck with that!
It's funny how a correction within a bull market--and, yes, it was rather fast a large--with raging fundementals gives all the Federal Reserve Note bulls their 15 minutes of fame that they have been on the "right" side of the trade with the "bubble" popping.
It's totally moronic. I would like to see an 87% margin hike on Apple and see how it fared--depsite what the fundamentals mean, or not.
I believe if folks thought Silver was a bubble at 49, I cannot imagine what they will be thinking when it's at 150 oz. Oh, but wait, they will still claim their acumen when it retraces from 150 to 140.
+1
The funniest part? Silver is still up +22.46% since February, and PMs the only asset class which delivered a >20% performance YoY.
The funniest part. The trolls beating the crap out of SLV holders and thinking they did the same thing to the physical holders.
Noooo no no no no no, turn on the news, we're all out almost 40% in one week. All of us are screwed and got what we deserved. Fox News even told me so! I should have bought an iPad and Chevy Volt instead!
Your comments, while intended to be sarcastic, are filled with irony.
Had you bought an iPad at full retail and sold it unboxed you probably could have made $50 or so if profit selling it on Ebay.
Had you bought a Chevy Volt and immediately needed to sell it you probably would only have lost 10% on your purchase.
Instead you followed the herd of blind mice and lost 30%+ on your enornmous speculative gamble.
I'll be looking at silver when it gets back down to its industrial value which I believe is in the low $20 range.
The funniest part? Just wired gainsvillecoins FRNs for 60 Buffalos; thanks again for the sale, FE (Friendly Empire).
You hit the nail on the head 6 String. All these "technicians" come out afterward and say "See! We told you." Ya, my mailman could of guessed that silver was going to pull back at $50. But ask them what's next for silver and the crystal ball gets a bit hazy.
My crystal ball isn't hazy. After shaking off some dead weight, silver is ready to kick some more JPM ass.
those who were suggesting silver was overbought were HONEST in saying they have no idea what comes next.
the pumpers were SHAMELESS and bold in their predictions of imminent COMEX default and 60 by next week and shit.
This place is an ECHO CHAMBER. I got a post junked off in record time all for opposing the group consensus on Fukushima.
Somebody has to be around here to keep the Zheeple in check
Yes, and now you are going to do that by not only telling half truths, but by flat out LYING.
You are a sack of shit. Get out of here.
Agreed. He cries a lot. All over his keyboard and pillow I'd imagine.
I notice you never comment on the content of these posts concerning the COMEX, CME, SEC, CFTC and all the criminal banksters on Wall St. Why not?
He claims to attack "shameless pumpers", but that is a codeword for "tmosley", the only person he ever attacks. He attacks me because I stood up to him on several different subjects and made a fool of him, even on his own home turf of "peak oil".
As such, he has developed a vendetta against me. Up until recently, he was only using half truths (such as "tmosley said everyone in Tokyo would be dead or evacuated by now"--without mentioning my qualification--unless drinking water was restored), but he is now resorting to flat out lies, claiming that I said that there was no silver available anywhere.
He has publicly self destructed. He doesn't even bother to respond to my retorts any more, because they are 100% true, and he KNOWS it. Instead, he must now stick with lies and one liner insults. My favorite is that he insults me for being knowledgeable on a wide variety of subjects, likening me to Cliff Claven. You know, except that I'm right some 99% of the time. He doesn't acknowledge that. He just hates knowledge that doesn't conform to his worldview.
What a fucking loser.
Wheeeee!......... F**k voting for Politi-Shuns
Start voting for Vola-Shill-ity
i STRONGLY disagree with this sentiment.
WE HAVE TO VOTE.
because that is the ONE area where we have an equal (if not greater) amount of input into things as the elites do. if you don't vote just because you don't like politicians (who does?), then you're just enabling them to fuck everyone over which is exactly what's happening right now since only about 1/4 or less of us vote in all elections - local and national.
Only candidates acceptable to the elite are permitted a spot on the ballot. By voting for the lesser of the two offered evils you give sanction to your oppressors.
Today's vote: Would you like to be bashed in the head with A) a hammer or B) a crowbar. If you don't vote you have no right to complain about the outcome!
Not to mention the incredible amounts of evidence now in the public domain indicating that it is Diebold that determines the winners...not the public vote.
+1. Nice post!
George Carlin shared your view, and so do I. Even if we did have a candidate worth voting for, it's the counting of the votes that determines the outcome. Given the ease of hacking voting machines and the lack of transparency of the election process, what's the point? Voting only gives them legitimacy, and if it actually was an effective means of creating governmental change, then it would have already been outlawed. It's just a show.
George Carlin Doesn't vote
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIraCchPDhk
Newsflash....you've assimilated too much Kool-ade.
Politicos have been selling you out for almost 100 years....voting is a waste of time...and the 'parties' are just different heads of the same Hydra beast that has been entrusted with your slavery. When your politicians decide to take a page outta Andrew Jackson's book and throw out the "Syndicate" banking cartel and extricate us all from the clutches of our slave masters...then you could go ahead and get back to your voting booth.
See your slavery.....be...be, your slavery....Danny.
Shanananannananaaaaaaaaa......
all politics are local. and though you may not have much of a voice in who gets to occupy the white house for four years, your vote carries a lot more weight in deciding who gets to represent you in congress where, you know, they once impeached a sitting president.
the only reason why they've been able to sell you out is because they don't fear you. and and they don't fear you because they know you won't exercise your right to vote. but political landscape has already changed dramatically over the last decade alone. we have a lot more information at our disposal. a single twitter shot across the bow or a youtube video can ignite a national discourse (or revolt in the middle east). but since we're too fucking stupid to revolt in america, the single most effective weapon we have at our disposal is our vote. and if you don't vote, you lose and have no right to complain.
Oh Brother....
You should be the keynote speaker at the next Tea Party rally.
ha ha ha
dude,
i fucking despise obama but i'm anything but a teabagger. enjoy your weekend, ag.
And if you do vote, you still lose, and have no reason to complain.
There's only one party; it's the Incumbent Fed Servants Party. It serves the interests of banksters and corporate monsters like Monsanto, with War, Debt and Slavery.
I've discovered something interesting: If you live as if they didn't exist, for you they don't.
i fucking despise obama but i'm anything but a teabagger.
what exactly do you not understand about Taxed Enough Already?
or do you think we need to pay more taxes? so you're against them because of that?
by the way, screw you for using the term teabagger; people that do that are shilling for Obama's progressives no matter what they say
well, i know that the tea party is engineered and funded by the ruling class to pit one working class group against another. and i hate obama because he is a fraud not because he is a scary black man occupying our sacred "white" house.
No such a thing as a "scary black man".
After a reasonable and thoughtful explanation of your beliefs you throw "black man" and "teabagger" into the mix and slip into bigotry and anti heterosexual day dreams.
African American perhaps but "black"? Bill Clinton was the first black president. Zero is the first AA
Tea bagging is something homosexuals do because they fear vagina's.
After Lyndon Johnson wire tapped every conversation he had while in office, the oval office is about sacred as a whore house.
I think everyone should write in their candidate - "No One". Of course, this would never be talked about on any news channel.
The biggest mistake we ever made was letting the Jews get control of the money supply. Wrestling it away from them will indeed be a difficult task.
In the end this always ends with the destruction on the fiat currency
Your comments are ignorant, anti-semetic and racist and should be removed immediately.
Daniel Ivandjiiski, you are condoning racism and anti-semintism by allowing such comments.
Don't like the comments and it continues weaken this site (which is about 41% name calling), but not in favor of banning any comments. People should be able to say inflammatory things -- and those who read/hear them should be able to dismiss them - preferably with silence (or maybe a quiet "junk"). People who make those comments crave the reaction.
Wrong.
Wrong.
and
Wrong.
Why are we allowing the confetti/paper market dictate the physical prices, most of these confetti/paper counter parties don't even have the physical top back them. their should be two markets, confetti/paper and physical.
It's really the best thing. As a lover of silver....I wanna see it get repeatedly "Bashed" and "Crushed" over and over again for the next couple years....with massive pendulum swings in fiat pricing....engineered by the paper traders.
dude, what's wrong with you? next couple of years? why the hell would anyone want to get fucked up the ass for two years unless you're rupaul?
I would take the time to explain it to you....but i'm guessing your frame of mind is not yet open to the concepts....and it would be a waste of my time.
i probably know your "concept" and even agree with some or much of it. but i'm in this to win. and though it's highly improbable, i prefer a decisive KO. so no need to waste your precious little time trying to explain anything to me. i mean, your time is so fucking valuable that you won't even bother to vote so why would i expect someone of your wisdom and importance to make an effort to educate a troll-magnet like me, right? please. don't bother. you have much more important things to do i'm sure.
I feel this strong pull between us.
don't fight it, topcallingtroll. don't fight it...
True............well said.
We are not drinking buddies....and I'm not bangin' your sister...so i don't feel overly compelled to bring you up to speed on any concepts of mine......so yes, I put great value on my time.
Combine that with my perception that you have the predetermined intent to keep your mind closed in the bubble world you've created for yourself....and many others here are interested in keeping it short and sweet vs. laboring thru a big 'ol ditty of a thesis I'd take up alot of space with and their time as well....
.....hey, we finally agree!
whatever, bro.
i vote, you don't. but you're welcome to join my bubbly world and get civically engaged at any time.
I've never voted in my entire life....
....but i did serve 5 years in the Marine Corps....does that count as being civically engaged?
personally, i don't have the balls to serve in the military so mad props to you for your service. i just vote and complain to my congresswoman when i have something to gripe about. and though i don't worship her or anything, i've been pretty pleased with her actions in congress so far. as for the rest of her colleagues, well...
You deserve to be the controller of your own destiny. With that in mind...you should carve out your own existence in the best and most logical way that seems fit to you. I will surely do what I feel is best for my specific designs and choose to do the same.
Our disagreements are smallish and petty....comparative to the big scheme of things. It seems clear we both want something better than what is currently being provided....I'll be hoping for improvements in any way.
If you are a holder of physical precious metals and are protecting yourself and your family in the best ways that you can come up with...then i am happy for you and am hoping that "Our" numbers within the general population will continue to increase. Age old insurance policies like precious metals sure couldn't hurt at this stage of the game.
Not to sound all corny and "geeked out" from yesteryear but....
.....Live long and prosper.
because your vote counts!!!! ah yes, the american dream. so sad.
Got any plans for saturday night?
I would like two more years to accumulate, as my salary is higher than it was a couple of years ago when prices were low. Even making more money, I FEEL poorer, because I can't afford as much silver now as I could back then. Hell, the same amount buys a fifth or a quarter of what it did two years ago. This drop in price means the same amount is buying perhaps 25% more than my last purchase near the peak. BFD. I want to buy double or triple what I was buying at the peak with the same number of dollars. But it ain't gonna happen.
Yeah, it's time to create an alternative commodities exchange to the COMEX.
Where big players are excluded by statute.
No paper commodities to be traded there, only physical.
Then and only then will we have true price discovery.
Wrongo Mr. Stein
Arbitragers would quickly align the prices
how about this, the "People free market" just exclude the bankers/broker paper pushers derivatives from our exchange, let the paper traders all circle jerk themselves. similar to a equity/forex ECN were traders trade to t6rdaers, institutions can come in but under new rules
The only way to do that would be to demand delivery from the COMEX.
If they can get it, then that's great. But I don't think they can.
Amen
it's called ebay.
HKMEx...starts May 18
Same can be said here in Germany.

Nicht verf. = Nicht verfügbar = N/A
Looks like a lot of people went on a shopping frenzy to take advantage of this once in a lifetime price drop.
Silver here you still have to pay 7% tax. Gold, no tax. Pt & Pd, 19%
That's right. In Germany you pay:
1. 0 % VAT on gold
2. 7 % VAT (so-called reduced VAT) on silver,palladium,platin coins
3. 19 % VAT (so-called full VAT) on silver,palladium,platin bars
That's why everybody is buying the massive 1 kg silver coins.
PSLV premium collapse also pretty neat..
Not sure you have your facts -- ... http://www.sprottphysicalsilvertrust.com/NetAssetValue.aspx -- look at the chart !
There is a really neat google doc that does PSLV and CEF family of funds ( SBT & GTU ) as a live calculation of premium over NAV -- truly amazing to see SBT ( SVRZF for usa ) so beaten up compared to PSLV --- link on Kitco Silver in CEF thread ...still not sure how they did that on google doc's but a typically 20+ users having a look at any one time
Greg
we got fisted this week, but the bleeding has stopped rest up and get ready for sunday night

Most guys who put all their eggs in the silver basket suffered the equivalent of an S & P 500 crash from the date Lehman Bros. failed to the March 2009 lows.
Except they got slaughtered in one week instead of 6 months.
By the way, Monex's live silver prices are still trading in exact lockstep with COMEX spot.
Note the panic selling on the open today as most guys who bought the latest ramp up capitulated.
Meanwhile, investors in QQQ, XRT, and IYR suffered none of the hair-raising drops found in the PM markets.
And in fact, the XAU and HUI remain the absolute worst performing sector so far in 2011.
Thanks for point this out. I better go long the HUI on Monday. It's the only call to make.
I was just thinking Gold has been lagging, thnks 4 the reminder TD, gunna add to long as well Sun night. With this corellation pull-back coupled with none of the associated reasoning...
Robo:
Post a 1 year chart of QQQ over top of $silver.
LOL.
You seem to not understand certain things:
(1) PMs delivered a better annualized return than stocks
(2) Manipulating markets with printed money can only accelerate the pace of inflation
(3) No paper currency lasted more than 90 years in the history of mankind, which roughly amounts to three generations
(4) Nobody can fight a total economic collapse longer than 5 years. Ask the USSR.

Schadenfreude my friend, schadenfreude.

With a helping of Jantelagen.
And schizer for desert.

You are a worthless POS Robotroll. You provide nothing but negative and misleading information on PM's.
Gold up 24% yoy, Silver up 101%.
Only paper silver owners lost.
Buy and hold physical.
The paper gamblers can assign an arbitrary number to an ounce.
We don't care.
RT,
Great respect for your picks and approach...I appreciate your charts too.
At face-value I agree, and if you're a trader, the paper metals were no bueno this week for sure (SI- pick-your-call-of-the-month on the comex absolutely crushed).
But if you're holding physical in response to the Fed's holding $2.5T and counting on their sheet, the monetary base exploding and the total amt of debt threating to burn the house down and comex inventories on the decline then you've already committed for the long term: the score board for one week just doesn't matter.
They can only raise margins to 100%...then what? In light of that becoming more a possibility it looks like physical is on sale.
You're not much of a Madame Ruth, although I imagine you in another form with a "Gold Capped Tooth".
What's the next move Robo? Can't see one? No? It's because you are driving whilst looking in the rear view mirror. This is just another case in point.
Your are like a witness to the aftermath of fiery plane crash, pontificating the obvious; "I can say with absolute certainty, that it looks like a plane crashed here." "I can say that the people on board were hurt".
Thank you Sherlock. You are a real sleuth.
He's a Ramora
Something strange happening with ScotiaMocatta in the last few hours according to this Tweeter http://twitter.com/#!/Silver_Watchdog
Also note that their pricing is up to 10% above spot - and they are still sold out!!!!!
What is amazing is that the silver bubble is exactly like the tech bubble.
Instead of instant "revulsion", you have maniacal, knife catching, dip-buying euphoria.
I heard guys here saying they were ordering physical within 2 - 3 days after the first big plunge.
No different that everyone buying the dip on Internet and tech stocks during the first big plunge days in the spring of 2000.
Believe me, I remember it well, because I was one of the stupid people buying those dips and I got destroyed until mid-2001 when I started shorting prior to 911.
I learned my lesson, that when a bubble pops, GTFO fast!!!
LOL....
Mrs. Foresight, could you please give us some?
"the silver bubble is exactly like the tech bubble"
Now you're just being fucking stupid.
Tech stocks only had intrinsic value when Greenspan opened the credit floodgates by deregulating how banks underwrote financing. Money flowed every which way, especially into dot com speculations.
Interestingly enough, Silver is now outperforming tech stocks during a time when credit has tightened. That's because it is a tangible asset, unlike some tech gimmick with a P/E ratio of 689:1
lol, just spit coffee all over my desk!
Robo, stop bashing the silver traders.

It's but a scratch!

_____________BTFD!!!!__________

Not a scratch, it missed entirely.
That thing over there that has it's arm off is a cardboard cutout.
Literal strawmen getting beaten down here.
*If you on~ly had a bra~in*
Robo, too bad it can't be said for stocks that they can't go to zero....like physical PMs. Physical silver has never gone bankrupt, but thanks very little, once again, for your apples to oranges to silver comparisons.
This can't be emphasized enough.
SLV, the LBMA, and the COMEX, on the other hand...
