Well, even Bloomberg apparently gets it a little off sometimes. Pick the odd one out:

Gosh are we seeing political fracturing and splinting? Are some of these splinters flying off and causing collateral damage?

This market will go nowhere but down until the oil volcano is stopped. In the face of this even the rampers can gain zero traction.

Wow...there's inflation in Europe???...sure fooled me...LOL.

Actually inflation in Europe is way higher then they say.

It's because they adjusted the index that it's only at 1.6%

If you would use the "old 2007" index, we're at 5.6% inflation in 2010 alone.

Could be, governments do enjoy jockeying their matrix's around for maximum political advantage...however a "percieved" rise in inflation can also be the result of a crashing medium of exchange (Euro) as opposed to generally rising prices.

Sometimes it makes my head hurt trying to define insanity...so I think I'll retire to watch re-runs of Bewitched...LOL...maybe Tyler will give us his take later.

SeeYa

this oil volcano is going to destroy, utterly destroy, the economy of the coastal south for the next five to ten years.

not that anyone wants to talk about that. so how high do we think BP's profits will be next quarter? I go for a beat with a gain of 10%....bonuses all around for the boyz!

In addition to BP Bonuses, I think that Obama should receive the first "Restraint Medal."  It can be awarded in absentia at Arlington this afternoon.

no big thing if all of gulf coast fishery, beaches and entire ecology are wiped out and a hurricane kicks up toxic dispersants and petrochemical all over the US...all is fine, we are in a recovery.

We could take all of BP profits and funnel them into Gulf economy and still be way behind.

And that's assuming the leak gets plugged relatively soon.  What if humans can't plug the leak(s)?  Or we make it worse?

I've learned that mentioning unemployment in that light is rather divisive.  Some people think they are entitled to it, some people think only they are entitled to it.
