Dept. of Education breaks down Stockton mans door
STOCKTON,
CA - Kenneth Wright does not have a criminal record and he had no
reason to believe a S.W.A.T team would be breaking down his door at
6 a.m. on Tuesday.
"I look out of my window and I see 15 police officers," Wright said.
Wright
came downstairs in his boxer shorts as a S.W.A.T team barged through
his front door. Wright said an officer grabbed him by the neck and led
him outside on his front lawn.
"He had his knee on my back and I had no idea why they were there," Wright said.
According
to Wright, officers also woke his three young children ages 3, 7, and
11 and put them in a Stockton police patrol car with him. Officers then
searched his house.

The U.S. Department of Education issued the search and called in the S.W.A.T for his wife's defaulted student loans.

I already read the article off of the Drudge link this am. This also happened while this guy's three young daughters were in the house with him. They detained the guy for 6 hours in the back of a car in the heat while they searched the house for 6 long hours, so this was not a mistaken warrant Oopsy. They knew already knew the wife was not there, or as they shortly discovered after they broke down the door -- they were looking for something else. Debts are now criminal offenses worthy of swat teams? Really?
Question: Then, what will Obama's new army of 17,000 IRS agents, armed with those new shotguns, be doing? I think this is part of conditioning both the public and law enforcement to operating under a police state directed from the Fed. .

Curious as to what they would be looking for... the search warrant should be public knowledge so an FOIA request or a call to the clerk's office should turn up the subject of the search.
I can see hauling people into court for refusing to submit affidavits of their financial positions after a judgment has been obtained against them... but not sure about this one... nor what they could possibly be looking for in a search...

the student loan debt bubble is way over due to pop. no jobs, inflated college cost, easy borrowing for worthless degrees... perhaps the banker enforcement unit (the government) thinks that fear just might work to slow down the default process. but inreality, broke people will walk away.
The beauty of a student loan is that it can't be solved by bankruptcy.
Perhaps a nice long stint in the US armed forces to repay the loan would be a good idea.
Before you consider this junk, consider the practicality of the idea.

I believe there's a provision that public service work allows early discharge of the loan, after some certain number of payments. You could also join a police force.
