POMO Completed, New York Fed Injects $550 Million To Get Apple, Amazon And Netflix Back To Unchanged

Tyler Durden's picture

We hope Brian Sack at least hands out a free Kindle, iPad, and DVD rental to all US taxpayers, after all it was all their money that just got these stocks back to unchanged, and prevented a rout in the Nasdaq, nearly 25% of which is determined by just these three stocks (AAPL, AMZN and NFLX). Your taxpayer money in use.  And now the question is who frontruns the other frontrunners in taking profits ahead of the next POMO on Thursday.

We'll see. As of now, 11:30 EST, SP500 has turned positive and Dow is 18+. Wait by the time it took me to write the first line, Dow is +34 and SP+2 points.

Do not underestimate the Devil who is acting via Fed these days.

It well past obvious and fully into officially farcical.

This $550 million number is simply for public consumption. I suspect what's going on in the background would curl the hair if it were made public.

Considering how bad the economic news is becoming, once again and despite the constant white wash, this must be extremely frightening to the powers that be.

I don't know what makes me more angry: the feds manipulation being sold to the public as organic growth, or the fact that when I try to tell my friends and family that this is all just fed manipulation, they think that I am going crazy with conspiracy theories.  This whole thing is a farce!

"I keep wondering when the Fed will hit bottom"... They hit bottom when a much larger portion of the worlds population start paying attention. It will come from abroad as all our "friends" reject supporting our debt. The Fed lays off the debt to all takers as long as they can, until someone yells "fire".... STAMPEDE to follow, best get out of the way early.

What if they have all stopped buying it already, and they have just agreed to report that they have it, when actually they are getting rid of it as fast as possible. It would be in their interests to do this so that they could find buyers at these prices rather than no buyer at any price as they all dump it all at once.

Another way to put this... what if the Fed is buying it ALL?

Robo looks at the numbers... the historic movement... and he, like me and very few others who are not strictly moved by our feelings... or our gut telling us to Buy High... or fear that the Fed will ever run out of linen to print on... Basically reality based, logical assumptions on what will and will not happen... not pray for the end cause we got our panties in a twist...

The End is Near! I Feel it!! Buy Gold at near all time highs... Hurry! and save buy the dips, You dips!

Logic... Numbers.. 1 + 1 = 2! not I feel like if the end comes then the value of 2 should be 50,000 because paper can and will burn... if You use a flame thrower... or whatever Fear Inspired Thoughts my float thru Your Heads.

Gold is expensive. Ammo, Food, Medicine and then Gold if You have all of the other bases covered. Common sense has long ago been run out of ZH, in mass... due to the constant "Yawn" bottom feeders who are now jobless and have time to bang away on their keyboards...

Robo is just fine, You are looking for an audience because Your books didn’t sell or were never published... whatever. You write damn pretty, if the lights go out I wonder how that skill will serve You? How will Your eloquent words help You or Your Family in the event that the World grinds to a halt?

This is quite frightening to see that the future of America depends on a company which manufactures Mp3 players and phones.

Right now, the emerging countries love buying Old Continent and America goods, such as Mercedes-Benz cars, to show who is the new boss and who can now afford it.

But soon, this proudness display will fade away and the BRIC will start buying goods from their own companies.

Making iPods and phones is not difficult. If you erase the marketing, there is nothing left in Apple.

We "perma" bears ARE frontrunning Ben, and everyone else, by buying gold before it becomes fashionable.  Our returns are much better than pretty much any strategy involving the markets, with very little risk, and no real need to be nimble, save for piking entrance points.

I love how people keep saying we're wrong even as we rake in the dough damn near EVERY DAY.  Shit, I'm bringing in so much from my gold and silver, I could retire if I cared to.  I like my job, though, and I like buying gold and silver, rather than having to sell it.

Right, monetary instability is not conducive to increased consumer spending... and no-one can look at the equity price and agree that it is at a fair value, the Fed is clear it is buying the market, for the sake of the Banks, who re-leveraged! No Consumer spending, no taxes, -- no tax revenue, no sovereign bond demand.. the purpose of a central bank is monetray stability, the goal of the Fed has been something else altogether.

The maor commercials should not have had a lien on central bank policy, both of these people are very high level, and not necessarilyequal, but they are two very separate disciplines...the FR system is an excellent one and I understand the FRBNY is slightly different, but interventions of this type should probably purely about managing various rates, rather than using currency, to paint tape. .. hmm,

The purpose of a central bank is theft. It always has been and it always will be. Free people do not allow others to dictate to them what to use as money and do not tollerate being forced to use counterfeit money.

There will be no need for a "central bank" with monopoly privileges to steal when people are free to choose again.

Banzai you crack me up.

Tyler knows and we all know, that the stock market is just a stuffed shirt. A financial scarecrow designed to create the illusion of fiscal health. Because you see, perception is truly reality. It doesn't matter that the whole illusion is based in bullshit...what matters is that mom and pop investor come home and see that the Ponzi hasn't collapsed and thus they continue to believe in the fiscal health of the greatest Ponzi scheme ever contrived. That illusion of a healthy stock market gives them the ammo to fend off any attack that our country isn't healthy.

Sure, its a fucking joke. But as long as the hordes wanna believe it...all you can do is frontrun the stampede until the perception changes.

Mis-perception is of course not truly reality, as any victim in nature that succumbs to a camouflaged predator will quickly tell you. Are you doing anything to help the "herd" see through the smoke and mirrors? That "herd" might learn that they have "horns" and are capable of switching roles. Why do the predators think they can get away with this and not end up with billions of angry victims around the world looking to even the score? Are they suicidal or do they have some really nasty plans afoot to make the problem "go away". Do they really think they can sleaze their way through this?

Probably a dumb question but POMO noob... Here goes... I get POMO getting cash in the hands of the banksters, but how do we know they then pump stocks?  Why not buy something else with it, or just keep it in their vaults?  Do we get evidence of the banksters buying AAPL, etc?

Did it ever occur to you that they might want to control all the homes, all the companies, all the wealth, and since they have a monopoly of counterfeit money (and a counterfeit heart) to work with they don't care what the "price" is they have to pay?

Tue, 09/28/2010 - 13:11 | 610566 metaforge
metaforge's picture

Of course.  I understand they could buy stocks with it, take over the world, etc, etc. etc. and I wouldn't be surprised.  But my question is do we have proof that they are doing that?  Other than indirect evidence that the market is going up, therefore we deduce it must be due to banksters buying with POMO cash.  I suppose institutional ownership data would show increasing holdings of those companies by the banksters.  Would be interesting to see such graphs.

Also if world ownership is the goal, that doesn't jive with the stated goal of getting AMZN, NFLX, AAPL back to flat, which seems to imply the goal is to continue the charade of a non-crashing market.  Why keep buying into such a market if they (banksters) know that without their purchases, the stocks would tank?  If they want control, put that cash in the vault, let the NASDAQ get buzzsawed and *then* buy on the cheap, right?

Well it all gets down to intent doesn't it? If you are already fabulously wealthy becasue you got away with theft on a global scale for quite a while would you be worried about a market crash or would you be worried about what people in general might do when they figure out they have been turned into slaves and all their wealth is in the hands of criminals? Better still, if you were fabulously wealthy and you thought you had the technology to make most people obsolete what would you think about 6 billion people who don't have what you have and don't like being cheated, murdered, and defrauded? If you weren't up to outright genocide maybe you might reason that if you controlled all the jobs, all the homes, all the bank accounts and all the credit that you might have a chance to survive your crimes? Why are you looking for proof? Isn't history good enough for you? Do you think first use of fiat money is some kind of legitimate role of "government" or a central bank? Do you think that buying stuff with that is anything other than crime? A super rich criminal, if he isn't a total idiot,  worries about loosing his loot and having to face his crimes and plans accordingly. Are you having trouble coming to a judgment that this is the current circumstance on this planet today?

Dude relax... I'm not on their side for chrissake.  ;)  I agree they're criminals, fiat is garbage, theft on a grand scale, etc.  All I'm wondering is how TD can say that they are buying AMZN, AAPL, and NFLX with certainty.  I guess basically by not providing direct evidence you are saying there is no way to know with certainty, so this is a theory based on the assumption that they want to keep the show going a little longer to keep robbing us.  And that's fine as an answer, I get it, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.  Thanks for the discussion.

Yes, I kind of figured that was the case. For me personally I think I know which groups of actors control most of the volume in the market on most days, especially low volume days. I have seen enough evidence of that to not be particularly interested in the particulars on a particular day anymore.  When you follow the power lines of most "institutions" that control significant equity these days you get a increasingly shortening list of "suspects" and their interests and future prospects appear more and more congruent with those of the "central bank". That's enough for me.  If you are not part of the aforementioned club it isn't very much good to know what they did today if you don't know what they will do tomorrow.  You have already seen the "market"  crash 1000 points in a few hours and then recover or run up 800 points in a few weeks. You know who controls "most" of the volume so you know who is mostly responsible.  Do you want to bet on either of these two possibilities that has no apparent correlation to any information that a non-member of the "club" has access to because you might know what some club members did the last few days with certain stocks?

Trading strategy if you dare to trade in front of a bunch of big robots: Sleep on a small short equity/long UST position, cover after the economic release and go short again when equity is in the green after the POMO.
