Is anybody goin to San Antone, or Helioplis ?
Unbelievable. I wonder what's going to happen now. The Egyptian people must realize by now that simply protesting in Tahrir square isn't going to accomplish what they want...
Whatever happened to the military saying "the protestors' demands will be met?"
Surrounding the palace, 100,000 deep, in a tent city, with the children, for the next 17 days, will force the issue. And me to attach my XHD to the DVR.
Well, the military never said exactly what they would be met with...
Military version: "They'll get what they're asking for"
They realized this days ago, which is why they have staged sit ins in a whole litany of places throughout Egypt.
What is $70 Billion worth these days Hoser?
The world will continue to see the U.S. policy of protecting the biggest criminals and keeping the global populace at the mercy of kleptocrats.
yup. the shining shitty on the hill....
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington D.C., DC
The bad news is, sportsfans, that Egypt produces 703 million barrels per day of oil, down from 900+ million bpd in 1990 -- with now millions more in population to feed.
After Mubarak is gone, from whatever impetus, Egypt will still produce 703 mbpd, and still be unable to afford food.
This is all a sideshow.
Oh yeah? Then how do they already craft riot helmets out of bread?
Subsidies.
And a typo, 703K bpd, not million.
that doesn't matter, they had no shot, so let us give them a chance.
they had no shot, the country was on full on decline for years.
They had no shot.
get it.
the may get mowed down or they may not, i don't see any families in the streets here. I say when you got nuthing to lose welp, what the hell!
If they directed their anger at the IMF where it belongs then they'd have a chance of reviving their economy, kick out the parasites and start public work projects to relieve unemployment.
But no, they've fallen for the CIA's tired old tricks and are trying to get rid of the only guy who has a chance of taking on the IMF.
What if there were a supply disruption in that 703 mbpd for whatever reason? That might cause some negative repercussions.
Says you. What a clown.
Oops.
That's thousand, not million.
I plan to base my opinion on whatever Erin Burnett says on CNBC...
So you're the one watching that channel still?
Yup. Cramer has nearly ruined me but he really does care...
Is Mandy Drury still on there?? Nobody has mentioned her lately.
Nobody's watching
Interesting how the sheeple didn't give a rat's ass about Mubarak a month ago.
To them Egypt had a democratic, secular, friendly regime.
That's what the CIA always told you.
Now the same CIA tells you Mubarak is a ruthless dictator who must leave.
And the sheeple follow suit.
Oceania is at war with Eastasia.
Oceania is at war with Eurasia.
Oceania HAS ALWAYS BEEN AT WAR WITH EURASIA.
just because you seem a towering example of ignorance doesn't mean all the rest of us were.
I guess you listen to the CIA for your facts.
You do know where and what he is, right?
You been there and done that right?
Ya well, one can hardly keep track of all of the CIA's client dictators, and their relative levels of ruthlessness.
That said, why do you think the CIA would push Mubarak out? What evidence do you have that this is the CIA's position anyway? Because it is in the news? Is the CIA in control of aljazeera as well? Are the millions of protesters hired thugs or dupes of the CIA?
In all "revolutions", the masses are always manipulated by the power elite to suit their needs.
On the way from Tahrir square to the presidential palace you'll find high rise buildings home to european and american bank branches in Egypt. From those vantage points, the power elite are drooling at the spectacle: the masses have fallen for the bait. Mubarak and his regime will be exposed as the greatest
evil since the Vatican puppet from Austria tried in vain to establish his thousand year reich.
But those masses are unable to understand that the real source of their misery is not in the puppet dictators, but in those who pay for their political campaigns.
This is the lesson for other world leaders -specially in the developed world- who will also be sacrificed to the mobs while the power elite laugh and dance safely in the comfort of their penthouses
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/feb/10/obama-wrongfooted-mubarak-egypt
It would be ironic that Mubarak should be the one to obliterate the fascist banker power elite by using his "Samson option", the only one he now has.
Interesting how the sheeple didn't give a rat's ass about Mubarak a month ago.
if slewie's mom liked this kinda inappropriateneccessity, hegel, slewie wouldn't like being spanked, so much.
Tyler'z bin listening to waaay too much Dylan. when i first punched into this pg, there was a banner on top that said: Condos in Cairo $20 A Night. unfair labor practices!
What a clown.
12 965 meters = 8.05607751 milesHow did you come up with 15miles?
Ah, they must be US miles.... no wonder they say the US is so big... they cheated with the measurements... :)
We factored in time-effect of peak riot traffic. Then we ran it through the BLS datafudger.
I anticipate a correction in you benchmark revision next february. Those birth-death miles sure can be tricky to estimate.
There's no snow en route.
No, you guys go ahead...I'll meet you there. Honest.
Ha! One of those (us) people who is never wrong.
I can't believe you wade through all of this crap and deem it worthy of response.
You truly are a Dude among dudes.
You forgot to figure in daylight savings.
So your the guy who still uses daylight savings time...
"We don't need no water, let the mother fucker burn!"
- origin unknown
"Soul fire! And we don't need no water!"
-Lee Scratch Perry
"We don't need no water, let the mother fucker burn!"
- Fire Water Burn / The Bloodhound Gang
fixed.
Their's is the most famous and catchy version of it, but it's actually a lyric that appears in multiple songs going back for awhile. Rancid's "Burn" is my favorite.
it's the lovely sentiment that counts. You guys want to join my Bible study group?
"There's no Bible at a riot!"
- Tom Hanks, "League of Their Own"
Coal Chamber does a good version. Saw them live about 15 years ago and I can honestly say that it was the most intense mosh pit I'd ever experienced.
obviously, you nevabean in the black hole when the raiderz were at the udder endada field w/ 20 sec. left in the 3rd qtr, and we're trying to get them to take a knee so we can see them when they get intercepted and the lightning boltz wanna get away so bad, they score, luv.
These guys are stupid to me. All he had to do was step down, appoint Suliman as President, then call for new elections 2 months out. Everyone goes home, then Suliman can round up all the dissenters quietly. At least that would have given them time to put their choice into office in the next rigged election, and buy them a few more years, possibly decades of power.
You don't understand those guys.
They don't think like you do.
They have been the hero of the country for 30 years in their own minds or not.
They were forged in a different time and with no reason to change their thinking , they don't.
Just like many now can't see past the last 10-15 years. They don't understand becuase they don't want to , their minds are capable but they can't start over.
Round up dissenters? That is their entire population but the secret police.
Clearly the Speeches by Mubarak and Suleiman and were designed to set the stage for provocation via what are likely to be acts of Agent Provacateur by the Mubark Security Force Thugs masquerading as "protesters" and then provide political cover and pre-text for Massive Violence, led by the head of Torture in Egypt and the US point man on rendition torture, Sulieman.
The protesters need to remain peaceful and increase the size of the protests and recruit the Suez Canal Pilots into the labor strikes.
Let us pray for the people of Egypt and call upon the higher guardians and angels. Should the US backed Suileman make good on his claims of a coup, "dark bats of the night" and "police tools" to terrorize, brutalize and attack the people of Egypt, it will in my opinion spark a massive and global counter reaction and accelerate the power of "the force."
As Obi-Wan Kenobi says to Darth Vader in their final meeting in the physical realm: "You can't win, Darth. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."
Bing Duffminster
Serious for a moment: You make a good point. Poland beat the Commies with union solidarity. If the Egyptian protestors can lock up the economy the BLS might put in a slightly better puppet leader than they are planning to now.
Civil war between fractions of Epyptians army using American guns, rockets, IEDs, planes. This doesn't sound very funny.
Oh great. Now I have to focus on poor people with no prospects in any scenario left to die an unspeakable death in the streets of Cairo.
So I'll volley back to you. I think the Iraq War "Schock & Awe" was the worst moment in American history. And I'm a very conservative Libertarian.
I think DICK Cheney's defense of torture was worse.
Welcome to Mordor which seeks, as always, to spread it's shadow across the entire world....
3/5ths compromise?
Yah!...what he said...
......
One wonders if the Bangkok protests could have come to a more fruitful conclusion if CNN had put it on 24/7.
Bangkok and Cairo : : Apples and Oranges. Analogy would be like the future fugitive Hosni (fugitive Thaksin) stirring up shit from his safe haven Germany?(Cambodia) using the billions stolen from the Egyptian (Thai) people. No, the fruitful ending would be to give the current Thai government a chance to un-corrupt the mess that was left after Thaksin left abruptly.
Question: Who rules Thailand?
Answer: Who cares who rules Thailand. They are not situated next to the exxon station.
They have a brown water navy, a shitty little aircraft carrier and can make things really hot in the straits of Malacca .... some people (like Japan & China) do care.
...and farmed shrimp that glow in the dark.
Al Jazeera and BBC radio are both reporting that the marchers are on the way to the state TV station, which is protected NOT by the military but with (Mu)Barak's Palace guard.
Good source of new news, http://www.facebook.com/elshaheeed.co.uk :"Reports on thousands are marching from Tahrir to the presidential palace in Heliopolis (Masr AlGadeeda). The march is in Ramses now. Egyptian bedouins in Sinai have started attacking state security forces in Sinai."----U.S. taxpayers send Egypt jets and $30 billion, and the revolution may start with armed camels.Imagine a French revolution style outcome. Reactionary attacks by Israel (Prussia) and Saudi (Austria), crushed against the odds by Egyptian citizen armies. With 80 million people and a U.S funded army all Egypt needs is a competent military leader (Our Egyptian Napoleon).
Hell. They can head to Brussels via Spain if they want. Herman van Rompuy is no Charles Martel.
Don't count too much on Saudi. Now that an opposition party has been officially launched and the king, by coincidence mind you, has a near death experience (he's prob in Vegas)
King Abdullah, had his way with Obama today: http://debka.com/article/20650/
Shades of Allan Sherman:
"That's why the peasants are revolting, cause Hosni, you're pretty, revolting yourself."
I'm watching Al Jazeera live...no talk of a grenade. Where did you get that info?
Al Jazeera is into promoting non-violence. the RPG went into their hotel room.
"Liberty" Mubarak will give those peasants a heaping helping of what for! Blow the Aswan Dam Hosni as a final measure of defiance to the unworthy people you have ruled.
Well. If the CIA/Obama can, they need to be on the phone to powerful army generals right about now and have them stage a coup 'in the name of the people', storm the presidential palace, new constitution, mock up elections right away in the wake of the fake coup and then business as usual.
Surprised they had zero plans in place with influential leaders within the military who may have had aspirations to kick Mubarak out. Would've come in handy right about now.
Hell, if Mubarak really wants to hold power he should order his Generals to storm his own Palace right now, before the people reach it. Do the same as the above, move to a position in the background, round up all the protestors and dole out some medieval justice before declaring himself the surprise winner of the September elections. Would only buy him a few years at best though.
Praying for a Kornilov!
How nice.
Withhold port o Potties and the 3 mill protestors will explode
Where are all these people pooping?
They don't share the same inhibitions that most Westerners have about public defecation. Also, it may be likely that the protestors are saving their feces for those special weapons attacks against any hostile government forces. Human fecal matter can make for some very nasty projectiles.
nice punji, slugger! these breadheadz are armed up the ass.
Markets rally in appluase.
Take note Plutocrats....once it begins here you will have "awakened a sleeping giant"
Keep taking that Pomo blood money.
Reporting now on A-J that a number of soldiers have been removing their uniforms in the square and standing with the REVOLUTION.
Well if they have lost the ordinary rank and file troops we can declare this an official revolution. The incompetent idiots in Washington and the Egyptian Army have had 2 weeks to deal with this and they have failed to do ANYTHING.
Provide a link though please, or is it on T.V only right now? As this would probably be the most important development we have seen in the last few weeks. Soldiers turning on the regime is a massive deal, in a situation like this it might cause the other troops to hesitate should they be told to fire on the protestors.
Wonder if the Muslim Brotherhood/other extremists have any plans for the next 48hours. Might be the next big opportunity they have to take advantage of general anger.
livestation.com works well for me. They live stream several stations I like. Al Jazeera, RT, Press TV.
I've been listening to A-J on Livestation for a couple hours, and it was a reporter at Tahrir Square who made the statement.
As for the Muslim Brotherhood, these cowardly punks have sat out the REVOLUTION so far, so I doubt they intend to play much of a role going forward.
Much easier to count the checks coming in from Uncle Sam.
I guess the 15% pay increase wasn't big enough.
WTF??

By itself, that was a really stupid video. In answer to my question, hilarious.

If ya couldn't laugh, you'd have to cry! :>D
outstanding and very uP-tempo>other than the risk of a minor, shoebomber-typ false flag incident...>i also like that it wuz to scale>and the final amiguity, too>freddie, or eddie?<
Right…? Would be niave to think that we don’t already have a hand in whatever the new guard will be in Egypt.
time to break out those bread helmets!!
I would strongly recommend the army also open the gates, to prevent injury to the crowd of civilians.
Also, a note to Egyptian tank commanders:Are your 120mm guns properly sighted in?
I suggest every tank in Cairo fire 2 rounds at the palace....just to be sure.
Source?
Source?
witnesses
If GW says it, it must be true
Suliman - wasn't that the name of Octomom? Any relation?
Octodad.
Looks like it's time to break the glass and pull the lever - go Egypt!
you know if they USA just sold a few ( read half dozen) GPS targettted cruise missliles to the protesters, it would prevent all the sensless and needless death and destructiohn thats about to take place.
hey they could offer to fire em off, and just have the 6 co ords programbed from protestor HQ i hear they have a few dozen ships in the med right now.
also it would get the yanks on side with the new democratic peoples republic of egypt, Inc.
DPRE, Inc. - yeah - got a nice ring to it
Hey did anyone see where those tanks went that were out side the Palace....Time to get the Hell out of Dodge City with my 70 billion and live it up .
Tanks had to gas up, get an oil change and a wax job...
Too bad we're "fighting for freedom over there, so we won't have to fight for freedom over here".
negative, the disgraceful U.S. troops abusing the U.S. flag are fighting unemployment, not for freedom.
Hey now....some of them are fighting for a fastpath to citizenship.
Chindit's still wondering what went wrong in Mandalay '44.
Al-Qaeda recruiting Bonanza.
alCIAda, you mean.
Just mentioned on AJ,
"The (Mubarak) regime is legitimizing the protest movement by failing to recognize their grievances at every opportunity"
what this portends for the future can only be messy
Well if they follow Mapquest directions, they are fucked...
Yallah, Ahmed...hummus and baba ghanouj for three million, or you're fired!
Yes, Mr. President.
Don't forget some tea, my friend.
Places everyone, we have guests! :>D

Egypt ambassador on US new network says "Suleiman is now the de facto president"
Did you hear that in Mubarak's speech? I didnt.
The propaganda machine is running full tilt.
What a crock o' shiite.
Thanks for the address, Tyler. I'm shipping a guillotine that way now with special instructions for it to be be shipped back to Wall Street when they are done with their early spring cleaning.

Tonight/their tomorrow is going to be crazy. As you said and I agree, they are going to march on the Palace and I don't see the army stopping them. Sooner or later someone is going to give the army the nudge and say push him out and we are still okay allies or don't and everything goes away (funding and all).
Y'all will hate this, but my read is Mubarak is acting rationally and wisely.
All they need to do is shut off the sewer support to that square and block off access to bathrooms. Those people will disperse within a day or so.
Some jokes translated from the streets in Egypt:
The interior minister asked Mubarak to write a farewell letter to the people of Egypt, Mubarak replied: why where are they leaving...
Two drugged men chatting in the street, the first said so what if we win and the government resigned what will happen next , the other man answered we will play with Tunisia in the FINAL.
The Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak Burned himself in front of the presidential palace requesting to change the Egyptian people.
The nominees are: Mubarak Egypt, Ghaddafi Libya, Abdullah Saleh Yemen, vote for your best president and win a trip with him to Saudi Arabia.
ROTFLMAO. Good finds man. Reminds me a lot of E. European and Russian jokes from the pre-90's era.

If Egypt can do 3 million, we should be able to do 9 million.
9 million man RIDE to DC on July 4th.
We dont care how you get there, just meet up with the RIDE along the route somewhere leaving from Boulder CO.
Most of use will be on Bikes , but we need drivers to for support and legistics.
We also need everyone to contact that friend they had in college that is now in the military, especially AirForce , and convinced them to meet up with us in DC . Weather its a tank or a plane, we could use the support.
Cya in DC and ride safe!
Where you planning on taking a shit once you get to DC?
I hear the Eccles Building is in the business of taking in toxic sludge.
What's the purpose of the ride? Is that the motorcycle ride to Washington DC?
If so, I'll look into that, sounds fun.
So when will the volcano in Iceland erupt already, 15 second attention span wavering, need new media blitz on other insignificant issues.
News at 11, Katie Couric not leaving CBS, any comments Stephen Colbert?
For immediate release to the press: "I refuse to leave Minnesota until my term is up (after all, after freezin' my butt off this long, I deserve to stay until the bitter(ly cold) end!)" Com'on, I dare the Egyptian people to show up and throw me out! (wimps) :>D
Why do I see this as the News that Should Be? Seriously! This is the kind of stuff that should be on at 6pm. Take 10 seconds for the anchor to cover and on to the next.
