no it wasn't. 140mm shares vs. 127 daily avg. I'm as convinced as anyone things are being pushed around, but be correct and dont be disingenuous or else your message is perceived as always crying wolf.

Well, I finally gave in and became a momo today. Bought calls on SPX at 3:25 and sold them for a good profit at 3:55.

I feel so dirty. Like real dirty. It will probably take 20% of my profit (in Scotch) to made me feel clean again.

lol

i figure 4 more weeks of 'all in' at 3:30 and selling at 3:55 should make me rich. woohoo

Shame on you for making money.  Try to do better next time.  Lose it all in the market, become a broke-ass loser dependent on government handouts, and make Chairman Obama proud.

No need to worry about me making money, I somehow grew a nutsack all of a sudden and bought some puts on SPX at the close.

Looked to see if CORS had been euthanized yet but found that the shares were worth 34% more in the last two minutes of trading than they had been for the last two days.

Not in this "no stock left behind" market! They'll be back to $1 soon so that the HFT's can start making their half penny a trade again!

It is simply beyond belief that CORS continues to exist. I figured the relaxing of tier one for PE would get some deal done but the caveat that they had to hold the beast for 3 years must have scared them off. They have been operating with little capital since April and are still paying off those hefty CD rates they offer. All the while they just watch the Florida CRE market they so wisely invested in continue to crater. Totally insane.

I guess we should short car rental companies.  No need to rent one now.  You can have a car for free for 31-60 days.

I really hate that eyebrowless gerbil.

I cannot stand how he claims that he did not know who the specific recipients were who got 100 cents on the dollar for their claims, yet he says if those parties were not paid, they would have exacerbated the systemic risk problem.

He cannot have it both ways and besides everyone knows GS was the one getting the money bags.

Geithner, Paulsen, Bernanke, Blankenfien, Rubin, Immelt, Lewis, and yes even Warren Buffett are a bunch of damn pirates. To hell with them all.

Sure you can! Buy FAZ and some C at the same time so that you watch them both go to zero :-)

Are you confusing FAZ w/ FAS? cause if C is tanking, more than likey the banking sector in general is hurting.

It can be anything you want it to be if you got the funds...if you have 15 - 20 g's lying around that you can risk, you can make couple of hundred a day if you know what you're doing I suppose. If you figure it out let me know ;-)

You buy that puppy long term you will lose it all. The daily reset and the leverage do not make any leveraged ETF a long term strategy--this chart says it all on a the SKF:

http://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/quickchart/quickchart.asp?symb=skf&sid=0&o_symb=skf&freq=1&time=8

Even though the financials made a lower low in March, the high was in November. Any rally on a leveraged  bearish indexed ETF will eat you alive. Therefore--as I have said before, they only for rent.

65502...I mean no disrespect, but the fact that you asked that question indicates that you have not done much, if any, reading on the subject matter.  there is a mountain of info about leveraged etf's.  i suggest you pay attention to Howard's response in this thread and further suggest that you investigate more before you move your money.

go to direxion's site and read everything.  bottom line is you better have some darn good experience in the financial markets for many years to fully understand the risks.

for a real scary chart of how a leveraged eft can treat you, look at SRS for the past 52 weeks.  good luck to you, I wish you all the best.

LOL. Believe me, and I suspect I am not the only gang rape victim of bots on this board, once you have been violated you will never be the same - in a good way.

You see, being on the recieving end of a bot fuck-fest, especially when the bots are on a particularly sardonic binge, brings a clarity to one's thought seldom evoked in our ordinary day-to-day.

After a short while, being helpless, ass hanging wide open in he wind, waiting for the next bot to take its turn, your mind is forced to focus, and realize, crysal clear, that survival in this part of hell we call the "market" is based solely on your ability to feed on scraps from the bot feeding frenzy. If you can discern the feeding patterns, you can hopefully survive on the  crumbs leftover in the path destructive gorging.

Be the bot.

i honestly think goldman sachs had a computer issue this morning and was the reason why s&p futures were 300 up instead of 1200 up on the bids and 800 up on the offers. of course futures sold off fast, then they turned the machines back on and the depth was back to normal. and we rallied. i would love to see their headquarters in new york lose power for half a day. i wonder what might happen...wink wink
