Let's call it 8:30 (ish) ET. URL unveiled here with great fanfare 15 min before (or so).
Till then, requests, legislative markup, stories of a lack of productivity all welcome via AIM here: radiozh

and, back on the farm http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/08/movies/08stone.html?8dpc this's gonna be a good movie me thinks; but i hope to god the editor cuts off the Jim Cramer role.
I just hope he doesn't hold back like he did with W
you know he will; he is; let's say; controversial director; but nevertheless a mainstream director. He will lay off of all the important players ( i.e hedge funds, GS, Hank Paulson, Geithner etc ) and focus on the paradigm of greed and excess once again; but this time up-graded. I expect a lot from this movie; but i somehow think; Stone won't deliver what we want to see.
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/yes_men_fix_the_world/
looks interesting.
LONDON (Reuters) - Dow Chemical Co said on Friday that there was no basis whatsoever in a BBC World report saying that it had accepted responsibility for India's Bhopal disaster.
The BBC said earlier that an interview it ran with a man it identified as a company spokesman they named as Jude Finisterra was part of "an elaborate deception." "Dow confirms there was no basis whatsoever for this report," spokeswoman Marina Ashanin told BBC World from Switzerland. "We also confirm Jude Finisterra is neither an employee nor a spokesperson for Dow.
I saw that movie on one of the indie channels. The guys are passionate about the cause but the movie has the feel of a low-key Jackass.
Either way, Bophal is definitely a strong runner up for saddest story in the world: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhopal_disaster
Nah CB, let's hope Stone shows him ranting how Bear was way undervalued and a screaming buy at $60. Then they can show some retired folks kicking themselves for tuning into CNBS as they pay for their groceries at Safeway.... with food stamps.
you should be a screenwriter....that would be a fantastic scene!
Anyone here ever see the Australian movie "The Bank" from 2001?? Great movie!
"This is an Australian suspense thriller about a mathematician, Jim Doyle, who develops a new theory based on chaos analysis that will enable a user to predict just about anything. A senior banking executive, Simon O'Reilly, gets a hold of the news and hires Jim to work for them, to develop a system that will predict financial markets." Loved the ending :)
That plot sounds familiar... where have I heard it before... lets see... oh yeah... it was recent... just in this past year... oh it just won't come to me... :-)
I hope it ends like the movie did.
Don't tell me the ending... I just ordered it on Amazon... thanks for the tip... I love that One-Click Amazon, next-day delivery... immediate gratification is the best!
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! The senior bank exec is a Gordon Gecko type: Simon O'Reilly: "I'm like God, with a better suit." I also kinda remember him referring to himself as a "big swinging dick" lol
I remember seeing pictures of Stone where he was all fat and puffy. I thought the guy died of either cancer or a drug overdose. I am not being mean. I really thought the guy was dead. My bad.
The review for Michael Moore's new film is out... fresh from Venice... and on Bloomberg for your review:

marla
i have been a regular reader but I find this entire radio zero thingy very confusing.
can u post a tutorial on how to access this thing? why cant u keep this on the home page - ie include it on the homepage layout? dont u want everyone to listen to this?
Good find, CB.
So maybe Gecko can crawl out of a cardboard box on the waterfront, turn towards Randolph and Mortimer Duke and proclaim, "We're back!!!"
The French have a work week?
http://www.businessinsider.com/are-the-french-the-most-productive-people-in-the-world-2009-8 you're in for one hell-of-a surprise ...
Everybody's working for the weekend...
What is a weekend?
They are working to relieve themselves of the stress that builds up during the workweek.
when you're in Paris for more than a week, and you're not French; a strange thing happens; you lose all your wish for work; you just want to be there, doing nothing; sitting in a caffe reading Sartre and look at hot French women. :D
So true.
If I spoke French I might make the move.
I don't want to be one of those assholes who lives in a country indefinitely without speaking the language.
It is a must to know French in France; even though most of them know English very well, they will not talk to you, or address you in English because of their hate for the Anglophone world; which streams from the times when France and Great Britain were fighting a war for colonial dominance.
I was there last fall for a while, and yes, they aren't too thrilled to address an American in English. You are also right that most French know enough English to get by. Actually, it seems most Europeans know English, with varying degrees, pretty well as a second language.
Yep; that's true; Europeans are mostly bilingual or polylingual; i think that only about 10 % of the EU population knows only one language. English is like 4th or 5th language to me; but hey; being a Swiss; Italian, German, French and that ugly ass retro-roman are practically a give; you learn them as you go; it comes a natural thing.
I actually spent a lot of time in Geneva. Where exactly are you based?
between Bellerive and Vesenaz
damn you gee zhes were really fun a year ago. wish i was around.
lizzy36 kept you honest. where is andy d., nice, PM, D.O.D?
(not) speaking french or france. i had a torrent affair with my american buddy for months outside grenoble, Sainte-Égréve?
yeah, his french wife would only speak to me in french, so that worked out pretty well.
she was the french representative (or something) to the small country
San Marino, pretty cool lady. + San Marino Grand Prix†
french bitch†
need pics of french women...robo? andy? mayhem?
how bout you TD (the original one btw)?

i don't understand what she sees in that little troll Sarkozy.
sorry, will edit
EDIT: can't edit; let Marla do it; but i don't think anyone here (minus the gurlz ) mind it ...
a simple NSFW should do it I would think.
Inappropriate would only be if they had hairy arm pits :)
+10 lizzy
Any workplace where that is inappropriate is not one I wish to work in. I am a happier man now, muchas gracias
I'm sorry... you lost your credentials to be the judge of inappropriate on ZH... SWRichmond has assumed your vacated position... that is however when he recovers from your latest post :-)
never posted a naked girl
sorry to hear that you are still a virgin Andy.
laughing out loud, really really hard...
dude; it was the opposite; not about what Sark sees in Carla, but what Carla sees in that little troll
My bet is true love :)
Even if you don't shop in that aisle, you can see (with nothing left to the imagination) what there is to enjoy - haha.
I think you rose to the occassion in fine form.
When you work with 95% boys, your mind gets warped.
Age is the enemy when you spend a lifetime cultivating your personal beauty. Hence the carpet bombing by plastic surgeons.
I got lucky, i was sick kid and spent all my time in the hospital, reading books. Thus brains have always been my thing.
Good play... you deftly stole back the title for 'most inappropriate ZH posting' from Cheeky... he didn't even see it coming.
Oh, I don't think she was really that naked... everything was pretty well covered... and that was way more tasteful than your choice today :-)
Never mind... I missed the second one down... CB beat you by miles in the inappropriate category...
CB beat you by miles in the inappropriate category...
:))))))))))))))))))))))))))) ... i love the feel of victory; even if it's achieved in posting nude pictures on financial blogs ;D
Men are such competitive creatures... and yes you win the award for the most inappropriate picture ever posted on ZH... I am not sure what your prize should be however.
But I really love how men say it like it is... one day they are in each other's face... and the next day they are chatting like nothing happened... I am pleased to see that there are no 'Fuck You Silver Bullets' flying across the Atlantic tonight :-)
i'm in a good mood tonight; and i did apologize to SB for over-reacting the other day.
Yes, I know you did :-) Just giving you a hard time...
Sorry if I hit a sore spot... noticed you just evaporated into thin air... I should be more careful :(
lol no; i went for a run; i have a thick skin and can't be easily offended
merci beaucoup, monsieur CB!
I took French in high school.....'bout 35 yrs ago!
mon plaisir monsieur Deadhead
Apparently I was working for the wrong French company a decade ago. All I remember was a bunch of A-type personality dudes wearing Nomex.
No scar tissue and a real pot.... love the real CB. Thanx
So right you are dude, since living / working in the USA (I am of Aussie ilk originally), I have met the most unproductive, miserable, least knowledgeable workers I have ever met in my life and am likely to meet anywhere.
The French get a seriously STUPID rap in the USA, accused of being lazy, socialist etc. but if the average Yank spent a week in the life of a Parisian they would kick themselves when they landed back in the states.
As my friends n I discuss the future we have in store for us, the most poetic amongst us came up with this gem:
A hopeless struggle on an endless grind.
But don't get it twisted, we're ready to knuckle down and start cleaning this shit up.
I like the short work week - should be every week! With all our technological advances why are we still working so much? Work to live - not the other way around. Got to admire the French recently... Called cowards for not supporting Rove's war (remember the Freedom Fries thing lol). Now they are into "Boss Napping" and threatening to blow up factories demanding adequate severances... Meanwhile, in the "Land of the Free" the citizens are sitting sitting back watching TV as their government gives massive amounts of money (that they don't have) to the huge financial too big to fails. And the food... my god with the amount a cream and butter in the food! and it's always a slow multi-course meal. France kicks ass.
It's all about living and loving the art of doing so.
The English are supposed to resent the French. Rubbish.
I have very close friends who are French (I'm English). I've read (in various places) that the French have a higher GDP per head of population than the English or Americans per year. To which I say good for them, they've got their priorities right!
DavidC
They're alright until you overhear one of them call you "les rosbifs" when you're asking the waiter if there's any other red meat apart from horse. lol.
Is the zero radio link posted somewhere?
Thanks
Tasty.
No picture paste for me. You're all missing out.
I am nopat's sensible voice of reason, KidAnonymousATL. I grow impatient waiting for concentration-inducing techno to be transmitted from ZeroHQ to my headphones...
You mention the A...whatchu know about dat?

Back from my day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bsg-q0JdgWU
Once more, thanx Marla
hope everyone is enjoying the music and clickin' ads.
There are no ads a women can click anymore...
Thanks for the reminder. I always show up on FF, so I'll make an allowance with another browser to help run up the count.
I am sure there are plenty of businesses that would love to do this site for ya MnN if they only knew about it and the high quality female segmant of its target audience that can be found here. Any good thoughts to pass along to Marla?
I think its out of Marla's hands... I will do my best to influence the counts by clicking on Hototc when it is up... but it is a little problematic to bring up ZH on my work computer... just to many odd looks when the Naked Girl with click to 'PLAY' shows up in three places on the opening ZH screen. But I will sacrifice if it means keeping ZH going and in the black... I wonder if it is in the black?
I certainly hope it is. The issue of the innapropriate banner for whatever reason is most unfortunate. I'll try some sources in the ad world to see if I can drum up some sponsors. Have a great evening and week.
!!!! Orgasmic !!!!
One of my favorite mixtape series is Sly One's Euphorasm (1-4). But really, what a fantastic word...Euphorasm
http://forums.di.fm/dj-mixes/sly-one-presents-euphorasm-vol-1-a-28465/
LOL. From the website. <<Last night I played a blank tape at full blast. The mime next door went nuts.>>
Whew... thank gawd I played enough Galaga as a kid to rapid-fire the stream and wiggle a spot late!
1. UN agency says developing wrold needs a new reserve currency no shock there..
2. The wave of M&A - be interesting to see what the the funding mix in the aggregate stock / cash looks like? Indeed just like printing money with no commensurate rise in commodities and or anchoring mechanism (gold/PM complex) is somewhat akin to liquidity driven equity valuations being used as currency for cross border M&A. Economic warfare in other words - an interesting challenge for prey companies to figure out what their equity is worth in a takeout given the swath of liquidity - sell now at your own risk...
M&A is simply going to create more unemployment. The benefit of M&A is economies of scale - a bigger business with fewer employees. Probably see 20% (U6) in 2010.
the point was rather like QE if you dont outrace/print/inflate the next guy you end up becoming prey to their overvaluation to the extent the market is still functioning via ponzi, alliances or some other unknownable etc..; A bit like race to the bottom only this time it is to infinity and beyond...
I am soothed by the dulcet tunes, is definitely helping with the mental transition from partyallthetime to ze grind
Hey guys - I keep getting HTTP 400 Bad Request - something's not working right with the server - please take a look.
What is going on with the feed? Feeds?
We're on efnet (irc.efnet.net) if you guys want to hop on.
#radiozh
And before you ask.. mIRC for windows, and I prefer epic for *nix (but the choice is yours).
Windows geeks:
download -> install -> start (register or don't, your call) -> command line = /server irc.efnet.net -> /join #radiozh
What's that number for Geeks on Call, Sacrilege? :)
if you have an IT question you can hit me at sacrilege@zerohedge.com on AIM. or just a question in general, I suppose.
It's not that big of a deal tonight. Thanks for the usual ZH service, tho!
For anyone interested...here are a couple of the tracks marla has played (i'm a technohead, i know a lotta these guys off the top o my head).
Marcus Schössow - Kiev http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4Yyrdm7w3I
Rozza - London To Bangkok (Estiva Remix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buFsewiZNm0
Chicane - From blue to green http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOT2wu5Z5SQ
Darren Tate - On the 7th Day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfPVxpq-pBQ
whoa cued up your first link and it came on (by chance) in synch with the exact same beat as whats currently playing on rzh - nearly had a religious experience with the meshing of the two...
Atmos - Twin Reaction http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akn_XUb3fRs
Orbital - Halcyon & on & on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jG1rQ9iXV5o
Also, just then that was THE Darren Tate (from that song above) giving a special shout out to ZH listeners.Gotta say this music is a great idea - the right side of my brain needs something to do while the left tries to understand the posts here.
Lyrics tend to distract the left half - usually go with Jean Michel Jarre but this is as good / better.
P.S. was listening a while back and Marla came on with something like "CNBC can suck my ..." - amazing what a sultry female voice saying that can do to your concentration.
Stepping Out? HAHA Brilliant, Marla. Fantastic.
Stepping Out? HAHA Brilliant, Marla. Fantastic.
OK, who's got some recommendations concerning streaming audio recording software? I've used VLC up until now to listen but couldn't get it to record. I just downloaded "Easy Radio" (freeware), and it seems ok though i had to add "real" audio drivers to get it to play ZR, it also doesn't seem to allow reverse/ff while recording... Anyone ?
All Marla's sets are being recorded. Patience with the expenses.
Peace love & understanding with an indifference to the man.
Well, there are actually a lot of other streams I wouldn't mind recording... Damn, you can access internet radio stations from all around the world! Though I certainly like Marla's "sessions" a lot.
Gold is flying... futures for Dec delivery hit $1000 exactly... spot was up to $998.25

Hey some of us are trying to veg out to RZH and you're bringing us back to the markets. Back to the grind in the a.m. unfortunately.
Sorry... I'm a work-a-holic... got assets to protect... go back to your groove... I'll try not to disturb you again...
Just pokin fun... sorry if that came across the wrong way! :)
Nope you didn't... nothing much offends me... by the way if you are chillaxin and need some reading entertainment... Benjamen N. Dover, III just posted on ZH... it is VERY funny tonight!
I'm reading the TOC from that link Cheeky sent to the intro to String Theory. I'm sure I'll never get much further than that. I'm not that smart.
Stop talking and move. haha
I don't know if it requires smarts... as much as it takes crawling inside the topic and getting really, really interested... OK... I'll leave you alone now... keep reading :-)
Shanghai seems to be struggling...and this UN new world reserve currency can't be bullish for equities long term, at least not American...
Just my own personal preference, but I check Taiwan in conjunction with Shanghai to separate out the signal from noise. Mainland residents can invest in the TAIEX, and it is one of the only (if not the only) place they can put their money abroad. If you see Shanghai n Taiwan down big on the same day, hold onto your sphincter.
Thanks steak, I'll keep an eye on that...
Dollar dropped HUGE yesterday, the USDCAD took a serious beating and AUDUSD broke out bigtime as well.
Yeah... I'm pretty pumped.
I've got my M4 and silver bars, so I'm happy as a pig in... well... you know what's about to hit the fan.
Hey Marla, maybe you can mix in the Clash's "Armagideon Time" into a set in the future? I want to be dancing as the world crumbles around me!!
I certainly have no quibble with the M4...but I watched a bit-o military channel this weekend and I must say I'm quite impressed with the 6.5 Grendel. The range of an M-16 with the stopping power of an AK. Its so solid I don't know of the semi i'm sporting right now is on account of the Grendel or these tunes :-P
http://www.gunblast.com/AlexanderArms_65Grendel.htm
Steak,
I checked out the Grendel. That's a pretty bad ass gun. It looks pretty expensive; I'll just shoot my brother's 'sniper' rifle since that's gentler on the pocket book.
Good posts on the tunes. The Orbital and Rozza are two on my "Liquid Lounge" playlist.
Lastly, I liked your quote: A hopeless struggle on an endless grind. I think I'm going to post that to Facebook.
The French don't have anything as funny as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VV6In1K8zKk Kenny Roger's Jackass - The dairy challenge is @ 3:00
Banks in trouble list is here: http://cr4re.com/PBLSep0409.html
I was looking at Westernbank Puerto Rico, it got its cease and desist back in May (http://www.fdic.gov/bank/individual/enforcement/2009-05-14.pdf#), perhaps that is the really big bank people are worried about.
Static... VO... just like old-time radio.
Thanks to you all in the studio.
He was sooo drunk... and I'm sure... pissed to be awake at this hour.
Just got back home to my bunker. My friend, a very
wealthy and busy plumber, still does not understand how I made
him so successful. I picked his name 'Apex plumbing' and do
all his job bid proposals. And yes, he does great work, but in this world
that seems to matter little.
I do all his proposals to this day.
Not only is his name Carlos, but he is the most sought after plumber
in Connecticut. Not a big deal to most, but he is obsessed with straight lines-
and if you extrapolate that to plumbing, you have a monster genius.
Carlos earns from the product of his labor.
Marla, those days of knowning are over, we need
to know your playlist couse we mean to beg to differ..
so close to connect with you, but you are troubled.
We cannot connect. You are burha. Marla - i feel
you are so disconnected.
