I'd say we need to kick this party into high-gear and lay down a few jungle tracks...dieselboy's "punish me" would be apt...as would concord dawn's "morning light"
agreed, with some evol intent, typecell
Bah, they're all NYC'ers with their progressive house, smoke machines, laser light shows and yeast-infection inducing vinyl pants. South of the Mason-Dixon is where it's at...
Hellofa, hellofa, hellofa something something...engineer? I think? Anyone got the word on that exam?

Marla,
You're a big phoney.
Guilty as charged. I tell my parents I am in the circus.
You're not fooling me.
You're a Lobbying Firm.
mangez la merde et mourez ( pardon my French )
Est-ce ca comment un americain/non-francophonie dit des gros mots (par traduction literalement de l'anglais,) ou est-ce ca vraiment quelque chose on peut dire pour insulter quelqu'un?
I'm told that I swear like an american in french, and what you said sounds a little like something I would concoct ad hoc.
Is that the Top Gear season finale track (also the music they set the French Bridge vs GT40/430/Zonda)?
Good lord...not to sound like a fanboy or anything...but wow...
:)
woman; you amaze me.
GS
I know I listening to electronica. My question is what genre of electronica am I listening to?
Well, the last four tracks or so have been versions of "trance." Either... "uplifting trance" or "vocal trance"... so described for the bright, floating lead synth and lead vocals (almost universally female). It's no accident that this particular genre tends to produce strong emotional (and even physical) response (up to and including blissful sobbing breakdowns) in subjects with high concentrations of MDMA in their blood.
Not if you are unemployed or lost money in the market.

Set list in the future will be great for us rookies.
Minnesota; here's an interesting read you may like; it's rather technical and LOOOOOOOOOONG; but nevertheless worth your attention.
Paste in a link... or a name :-)
yes; retardation is a frequent event in my brain; copied the link forgot to paste it. http://www.scribd.com/doc/19451315/A-First-Course-in-String-Theory-2nd-Edition
I'm gonna like it... have read a few chapters from various books on String Theory... but never an entire book... just love playing around with that concept in my brain...
just wait till you get to the explanation of 11 dimensions. I almost got insane when i read Ed Witten's paper in 1995 in which he explained the concept. But this book is not so technical as the real papers which come out from various mathematicians and physicist. Should be no problem for you.
and one more Minnesota ... http://www.scribd.com/doc/19234245/Before-Big-BangCosmology
CB - Thanks for these. Once more I find my quest advanced through your actions.
When I'm done reading (and Layne and anyone else) we should get chat going on the topic... maybe in the forum area (haven't used that so I don't know how it works)... but it looks like I'll be a while... you have loaded me up on reading materials... thanks...
+100 Minnesota. Awesome idea. Let me know when you're done with the reading and i'll set up a thread on the forum. It should be fun.
Will do :-)

I just bought Flatland... I'll watch these as a appetizer...
Hey!! Marla Singer,
My wife and I enjoyed your music last night. I asked my wife's permission to comment on the sexy women voices last night, specially the voices speaking French. I do not speak French myself but I liked what they were saying.
those sexy voices must be from the Zurich office.
Marla, I tried connecting to your radio show but RealPlayer just stayed on the "Trying to Connect". Is it possible to download your show to listen too?
Thanks
She only has it on for a few hours... and how long it runs it up to her... last night it went until around 2pm CST
thanks MN!
So does that mean you basically have to listen to it live?
I've been an occasional reader of ZH for the last couple of months (great blog by the way) and was unaware of the radio show. Does it come on on a regular basis (on a particular night and time)?
Nope... there is no schedule... its just when Marla is in the mood... she usually lets you know a few hours in advance... so check in around 8ish... mostly it is on the weekends... but think I have seen it during the week...
OK, thanks - appreciate you taking the time to answer!
Have a great Labor Day tomorrow!
Yes, it's only live, but there was two sets recorded by our wonderful posters, (from comments on her aug 27th and aug 7th set, which you can download if you wish.

Thanks Ruth!
I was able to DL the What is Love mp3, but the other one gave me an error:

This file is neither allocated to a Premium Account, or a Collector's Account, and can therefore only be downloaded 10 times.
This limit is reached.
To download this file, the uploader either needs to transfer this file into his/her Collector's Account, or upload the file again. The file can later be moved to a Collector's Account. The uploader just needs to click the delete link of the file to get further information.

I'll give the one I was able to download a listen, again, thanks for your help.
WOW!!!! Just listened to the What is Love DL - utterly amazing!
But ONLY 30 minutes long - I was dying for more!!!
Marla, I saw in your Brain Parasites post where you said:
"This is the first one I've recorded. Yes, it will be available."
Is that for real? Where is it available. I see everyone has already laid heavy accolades on you for your remarkable skills - I can only second that (and third that, fourth that, etc).
Thanks
What is Love s/b 2.5 hrs and the otr is 2 hrs, which prob aren't entire sets, as Marla has spoiled us rotten as well! I use itunes and have them as mp3's so if you email me i'll try sending them to you, rcmtgs at earthlink dot net (correction, sorry). And you can feel safe, I'm fingerprinted by the FBI, so everything's cool...lol
Email on the way to you!
Again, many thanks (sure are a lot of nice helpful people on this site )!
Rick
Marla had mentioned that she was playing "uplifting" or "vocal" trance music so I did a quick google on that and found a really neat site that has 40 "uplifting" mixes and 120 "vocal" samplers.
http://ayumilove.wordpress.com/2009/03/22/best-uplifting-trance-mixes-cl...
Really great sounds!
I can't believe I've been tethered to my computer for so long today - I really need to un-jack.
But the warm fuzzy feeling I'm getting listening to this stuff is so addictive (and without benefit of any pharmaceuticals to boot )!!!
Thanks all!
Rick
I once met Helena Bonham Carter. Well, "met" is perhaps a stretch since we never actually spoke to one another, but she did smile at me at least a couple times (probably since I was staring so much). It was on the set of a 2006 movie (but she wasn't in it). I wanted to go up to her and tell her how awesome I thought she was in Fight Club, but then I realized how lame that would have been, and instead I continued staring.
So anyway, whenever I see a posting from Marla Singer here on ZH, I get strangely aroused. So, whatever you do, Marla; whether you're a dude or a chick, I DO NOT WANT TO KNOW. You are Helena Bonham Carter and you are so hot, so just be that way.
I am Chumbawamba.
dammit Marla - I missed out on the party; what I get for going out of town. I really could have used a double shot of Radio Zero tonight - alas, it is not to be. Till next time....
