NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock futures remained only modestly ahead on Thursday as retail sales unexpectedly fell 0.3% in December and weekly initial jobless claims climbed. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average were up 6 points at 10,634. Those for the S&P 500 were up fractionally at 1,142. Nasdaq 100 futures were down nearly 1 point at 1,881.75.
