My take on views expressed by Jim Rogers at a BBN interview on Mar. 18 about the recent currency and trade confrontation between the US and China, the Canadian loonie and the U.S. bond market.

Phinance's phavorite political prisoner, Martin Armstrong, cautions that "the EU is in dire position", on the precipice of shattering. Since "debts will never be paid and interest expenditures are the greatest transfer of wealth in history ... Western society is falling apart ... If we do not act, civil unrest will explode. The current choice is DEFAULT or HIGHER TAXES & CIVIL UNREST ... Someone has to step forward to save us or we may be doomed. It's time to wake up for this is the future of our children and their children at stake. "

As promised, here is the complete article, "China's Fragile Economy, Its Housing Bubble, and What It Means To Us," in a downloadable PDF. You can download it, print it out, and read the entire piece at your leisure. The conclusions aren't encouraging, for them or us.

Richard LeFrak Not Optimistic On CRE

Tyler Durden's picture

Richard LeFrak on the long, hard path before commercial real estate (and he should know). Also, in a stunning development Ivanka explains CMBS (which she undoubtedly learned from fiance Jared Kushner who knows all about CMBS and 666 Fifth Avenue)

I had missed that one; some dear "buffet of sirloin tip and fish tacos". There is something quite unappealing about that particular combination, not to mention the format...

"I did it in less than a minute," said Mendoza, an administrator in the Los Angeles County Office of Education. "I remember my head was hurting and thinking, 'My God, what was that?' I was thinking maybe I should have asked questions. It was like a roller-coaster ride."

Interesting...thanks for the links.

The comment above pulled from the first article linked about sums up how we ended up where we are now.

At least she hasn't resorted to leaked videos of her sword swallowing abilities. I'll give her some credit, even thought she is quite long winded. Lots of words cummulating in nothing of any substance.

"If you look at the residential market, they have Fannie and Freddie. Fannie and Freddie underwrite things in a relatively conservative way... There is no such thing as Fannie and Freddie for retail, office, hotel. And our industry became reliant -- maybe foolishly -- on this mortgage securitization".

Richard, first off there was nothing conservative about FNM and FRE underwriting. Secondly... yeah.. ya think?

Milton, dude, I had to watch that again and half the things she said were just filler (so that middle America does not understand them and she sounds smart). I am all for female equality and I can say I am quite liberal when it comes to social norms, but you are smitten by the woman's looks. That is about it.

As to the fact that she is full of herself, I already know that by another incident last year. She nearly ran into me (and other people) on 5th Avenue, because she was looking up and to the left above everyone else, like we had to make way for the princess. The crowd was beneath her, man, trust me on that one...

woohoo. Oil and gas accounting comes to the commercial real estate market. God damn those oil fields are a pain. They have about 10,000 people who own them.

So the solution for commercial real estate is for the lenders to take the hit, forgive large amounts of debt, and create equity for the underwater Trumps and Trumpettes of the world? And for residential real estate? and for margined portfolios?

Bankruptcy needs to be returned to active duty!

August 12 – Wall Street Journal (Lingling Wei and Jon Hilsenrath):  “The Federal Reserve, with $900 million on the line, is getting actively involved in the biggest hotel bankruptcy, an awkward role for the central bank… On one hand, the Fed is clearly concerned that the bankruptcy of the 680-property Extended Stay Inc. chain has exposed major fault lines in the commercial real-estate market… On the other, the Fed’s role is tricky because it is facing off against financial firms it has to deal with in other rescue matters.”

Ivanka's nose job is sweet. Much prettier than the crooked hook nose she was born with.

I wonder what the surgeon did to her tits and ass?
