Ron Paul: "Goldman Sachs Has A Lot Of Influence In Our Treasury And A Lot Of Influence In Our Federal Reserve"
"[The Fed] is bigger than the Congress, [it] has more power than the Congress. The Fed Chairman probably is more powerful than our president, and yet we refuse to look at it. The time has come for us to look at the Fed"

Ron: You need a supermodel with a clear voice to do the PR on this thing
I like supermodels but he did a fine job without one.
He was a lone voice in the wilderness for so many years and even as all he said began to come true, he was still sneered at and marginalised by the media.
When he was the largest monthly money raiser yet Fox refused him a place at the Primary debate, that should have been a wake up call to how in bed the media is with the corporate and political elites that have a stranglehold on American politics and power.
He's probably the last remaining politician in Washington for whom the Constitution is not ""just a piece of paper"
Please use the spell-checker: it's "Faux" News. Good grief!
I prefer to think of it as "brainwashing for republicans".

AMEN!
2012 could be a big year for the 3rd party movement... everyone should be fed up to the gills with the Democrats and Republicans at that point... I know I am pretty much there right now... and Ron Paul resonates strongly as the voice in the crowd shouting "The Emperor is Wearing No Clothes".
I just wish that Ronnie would forego his party and just start the campaign as a 3rd party choice. If he had done that in 08 he might have had a better chance.
But I like that slogan. He should hire a model to walk around with an emperors robe and only a bikini underneath to bring home the point. Maybe then people will pay attention.
Perhaps... Sunshine825 that I stumbled across in a comment below might be available for the gig...
Very good interview. Hope the MSM keeps up the heat . . . before wholesale consumer default makes it inescapable (though, of course, the debate could then be hijacked by ignorantly pseudo-populist cries about joe sixpack deadbeats causing everything, similarly to the bs about losers taking liars loans being the fundamental cause of the subprime meltdown.)
"Hope the MSM keeps up the heat"
That's a joke, right? GE, Disney, Viacom, and Robert Murdoch have an agenda, but helping the public see straight ain't it.
Doesn't matter how rightr Rep. Paul might be (and he's plenty right) - the Most Transparent Administration in the History of Ever is simply not going to let that happen.
Hope. Change. New World Order.
Rope and Chains - New World Order
Right... 3rd party movement. Dont you remeber that our system, i.e. the electoral college, basically kills any chance of a three party system.
Porky Pig flies first class...or the BCS will host a playoff format to crown the NCAA football champion
Wow. Very interesting comments. Need to research Ron Paul more.
Hero.
the only way out will be via massive u.s. default; i wonder if r. paul is prepared to do as much?
It's interesting to review Ron Paul's investment holdings; primarily gold miners (2007 document):
http://www.opensecrets.org/pfds/pfd2006/N00005906_2006_Pres.pdf
Nice, Ron. Silver over $17 now.
Ron Paul cured my apathy
fyi - Glenn Beck is linking ACORN to murder and it gets all the way up to congress. i know this isnt the place, but the msg needs to be out there
as per a thread in the denninger forum:
The CA tape is EXPLOSIVE. The ACORN worker is naming CA politicians and just admitted that ACORN is helping the Dem members of Congress to get healthcare passed....in conjunction with the SEIU!!!!!!!!
As long as the conservative vs. liberal debate continues, Ron Paul doesn't have a chance. The left and right are pitted against each other over trivial social issues so the uber-rich can maintain power. The Democrats, the Republicans, right-wing talk radio, The NY Times, NPR, FOX News, CNBC all protect the status quo. The left and right need to get together and realize the problem is PLUTOCRACY: government of the rich for the rich, (not liberalism, conservatism, fascism, socialism, et al.). And as long as the media/government's primary concern is serving the richest 5%, nothing will change. I'm to the left of Karl Marx but Ron Paul really impresses me. If the left and right stop obsessing on the social issues and unite in support of Paul he might have a chance. Group hug?
"I'm to the left of Karl Marx but Ron Paul really impresses me. If the left and right stop obsessing on the social issues and unite in support of Paul he might have a chance. Group hug?"
THIS ^
Last year Ron Paul, Ralph Nader, and two other 3rd party presidential candidates from across the political spectrum gathered to endorse 4 principles of agreement.
You can read their statement here
http://www.dailypaul.com/node/61153
In summary -
1. Pull out of Iraq, Afghanistan, Germany, Japan, etc.
2. Restore privacy and civil liberties
3. Eliminate the national debt
4. Rein in the Federal Reserve
Thanks for the link.
Modern 'Left' and 'Right' is today's Big Lie.
It's time people open their eyes.
To say the least.
still looking forward to that inaugural column.......
Yes... and I certainly hope your taste in pictures is better than Robo's... the Octomom... what was he thinking...
I think R. Paul is going to have a car accident this weekend. Or some other "natural cause" :)
Did you know that a 2lb hand held sledge hammer can entirely crush a humans skull in, including breaking the lower jaw and several of the upper vertebrae with just one swing. Just thought I'd put that out there and see how it fits into your sense of humor. :)
Did you know that a single person in a 4000 lb truck with 250 horsepower engine is capable of killing riot police by the dozens. Did you know that if just 5 people throw a liter of gasoline in a bottle with a rag hanging out of it on a heavily armored HumVee the occupants will pass out from heat in as little as 2 minutes.
Did you know that the human rib cage actually funnels knives into the lungs if a person doesn't have the tip too sharp and doesn't maintain too rigid of a grip on it.
Did you want to discuss all the various vulnerabilities of being human or are we done yet?
I think R. Paul is going to have a car accident this weekend. Or some other "natural cause" :)
I like Ron Paul....
But Ron Paul is not effective enough....
And the winner is ?
The "Bookseller" Ron Paul ?
Books are for....entertainment ?
Effective enough to "sell a book" ?
And ....the book revenues go to ?
.............................
Has some good thoughts....so ?
What good does selling a book do ?
Books are for....entertainment ?
No.
What are you talking about Cheeky? I hope that you are not trying to assert that there are no books that are entertaining? You need to clarify... 'no' just doesn't cut it. Come out of your textbooks... and pick up a good summer read... there are some really entertaining books out there...
Minnesota, you know i love you, but books that simply entertain don't cut it for me. Maybe is my insanity and the wish to achieve omniscience * LOLing really hard right now * or maybe is that those kind of books don't go hand-in-hand with my character. Currently, i'm reading about isomorphism on finite field of atomic sentences and potential modular form it can have when isomorphism is bijectional with a set of temporal propositions Tl. Now, that's what i call entertaining. No, there are books which are entertaining, but the problem is that entertainment means different things to different people.
Cheeky... you have got to get out more... and enjoy life... too much 'work' and no 'play' makes Cheeky a dull boy :-)
BTW... you are a real pain in the ass... I thought my IQ was sufficient to easily grasp most concepts... but oh no... not with you... I have to go and look up to see WTF you are talking about... and I was doing just fine with isomorphism, finite field, atomic sentences, and bijectional... but then when I hit modular form my brain blew up... does Google have some translation program for your language :-)
And finally, imho, if you are striving for omniscience (lol right along with you) you have to have an equal understanding of both the abstract/theoretical concepts, but also the corresponding feelings and real life that give those concepts depth and meaning (and I am not saying that you don't)... but a good entertaining book helps in those dimensions... just sayin' :-)
oh no; i get out more than often, but find the reality i encounter so simple that im obliged to treat it as trivial and consequentially i explore other, more subtle, calm, and what's more important complex ones. It's just a way to keep me kicking. Oh, and congrats on the IQ; are you a MENSA member; what about your EQ; have you ever tested that ? Apparently, some behaviour psychologist claim it is more important than IQ. I don't know, but it makes sense.
I deleted that IQ, so you must have caught it before it went poof. Never had EQ tested... but that is probably where my real talents lie... I love figuring out people and myself in the process... I'm getting closer to figuring you out BTW... I'm just not sure I have created an appropriate 'people category' for you in my brain yet :-)
* see my username *
that's where i categorically classify. no more, no less; Cheeky Bastard.
and good luck with figuring me out; let me know what you find, cause i sure have no idea. :D
CB - Do you read any Rob Rosen? It reads like you have, or would like to:
http://www.panmere.com/?page_id=10
His thoughts on life/bio/AI/math and computational determinism have helped fuel my thoughts and explorations as both a software hacker and economist/armchair biologist. It has helped me make a lot of sense (or slightly some sense) out of this current mess.
Combined with Hume, Nietzsche, Von Mises, Wittgenstein, Nathaniel Brand, and Carl Sagan, it gave me a great mathematical and conceptual metaphysic to work with.
One of these days I'll register an ID for ZH comments, but I like my anonymity even more than you do.
Enjoy your comments. Keep them up. I'll hunt for your response if you are inclined.

jesus holy fuckin hell.
what are you talking about, here.
EQ =± IQ
Don't worry, I'm sure CB just meant modularity in a computer-sciency sense, not modular forms as in number theory. Unless he's hit upon a way to apply Fermat's last theorem to mathematical logic.
Inspires. Changes minds.

He's an inspiration.
....... love this RON PAUL ..... a truth-telling man. CNN did a story a few months ago about this new website dedicated to RON PAUL, called: www.ronpaulsingles.com .......... In the interview with CNN, he didn't even know that such a website existed, & he was quite surprised........... He's an inspiration. Sincerely .......
I clicked on this link (with my common sense saying 'don't to it')... and imho there might be something a little off in mixing Ron Paul with Sunshine825 who is looking for a man... can't put my exact finger on what is causing my brain problems in trying to process this... but I will admit that it is an interesting juxtaposition of ideas... thanks for sharing :-)
its pretty obvious that the brain problems stem the clashing of the fact of her "looking for a man" and your subconscious desire for her to be looking to explore other options, like maybe a certain lady from Minnesota?
Excuse me Tumbling Dice... WTF... did I do something to offend you... I think it might be a really good idea to take a look at that again... that is really offensive and completely over the top... despite being so far from reality that it is comical... and you didn't strike me as that kind of person... but what the hell do I know about people... clearly not much... I'm going for a run to cool off before I say something I will regret... Minnesota has lost her 'Nice' for the moment.
Yikes, I was just trying to make a funny. (apparently the key word here is "trying") I'm sorry if I offended you.
Minnesota has her "Nice" back... I have cooled off... apology accepted... maybe I overreacted... I know sometimes jokes fall flat (I would suggest avoiding stand-up comedian as a second job)... you caught me out of left field because you are not one of the posters I need to keep an eye on... glad to know that you are who I thought you were :-)
I'm glad and relieved that there is no grudge...and duly noted on the comedy front although I must say that I have actually been on a wicked streak of offending people lately, which I consider a losing streak of course, but I think I was capable of humor while no pissing people the fuck off once. Hopefully, it comes back like riding a bike.
Maybe I flipped because you are one of my favorite people and I always stop to read what you write... if it just would have been an anon I would have moved on with only one or two choice words...
I have worked with a pretty tough men over the last 20 years... and unfortunately there is a small part of my personality that developed a strong edge to survive in a man's world... unfortunately you just caught that edge... I am sorry.
No need to apologize, I have not accepted an apology for many years now by simply ignoring them and pointing out their uselessness when offered to a person who doesn't remember the last time he has held a grudge, but for the sake of water under the bridge I will accept this one.
And you must know that you are one of my favs as well so I would never intentially try to offend. But I will pay attention to the weight of my words a bit more in the future.
So can I find you both on RonPaulSingles?
Sounds like fun for all if we can make three!
lol... another comedian... good thing Tumbling Dice has restored my sense of humor...
My favorite advert on that site was a chinese female looking for love but does not want to be contacted unless you made at least 1 million/year. -Michael
gee ron...........ya think?...:)
On another subject, why did LIESman keep on repeating "BIS (Bank of International Settlements)" during his smack-down from Rick Santelli? What news is coming out of the BIS? Anybody expect news out of the G-20?
Ron Paul was on Morning Joe. Even though Huffington was blowind hot air about the mortgage foreclosures, at least Paul/Scarbarough were intelligent.
Had to turn CNBC off when Rod Blagovich was on this morning. Must be an incredibly slow news day on CNBC. I mean, Ivanka Trump wasn't available? We must be due to 3 hour interview between Becky Quick and an Octagarian Billionare that lost 30% last year? No interviews with Jeff Immelt? C'mon.
Ben Bernanke and the Fed need to be held accountable for their bubble blowing misdeeds. They are in the process of blowing up the ultimate bubble. When the dollar collapses, it will be the end of our economic system for a while. Unless Ron Paul's message is heeded, this will happen because Ben is firmly down that path. Dr. Paul, save the responsible people from these idiots.
'The recession is very likely over at this point,' Fed's Bernanke says.
Happy days are here again. Just in time for Christmas shopping ... lol
I, for one, won't be buying a goddamn thing, I'm in 'starve the beast' mode till further notice.
just don't let the beast starve you, sir.
In my humble opinion a more widespread but concetrated starving of the financial sector, where we have as many people withdraw their deposits from tarp banks, is a more effective way to use citizen action.
Agreed. I have been saying this to friends. Instead of a Ron Paul Money Bomb. It could be called "Financial Bomb" or some such.
hooray
he has an excellent record of being correct

Same here. Only items I buy outside of food is Silver and Ammo. =) I will be buying no presents and will request everyone buy me absolutely nothing this year. Starve the beast.

Ron needs a fruit basket and thank you card. So do Rakoff and Kaufman. Sensible voices in a cacophony of deceit and insanity!
I would tell Ron Paul not to ride in any convertibles in Dallas for a while.
The hour grows late. The pieces are in motion.
When the time comes, he will be one of the very few politicians allowed to live.
Everything is a dollar trade... even retail goods. The dollar price of everything seems to be in a phase alignment process. This will ultimately create massive instability for the dollar.
good articles; good articles 4 slow news day ..http://www..

in the words of immortal John Cash
my name it is Ron Paul, Ron Paul
my name it is Ron Paul, Ron Paul
my name it is Ron Paul, and I hate you and all, damn your LIES
Seems to me people have been looking directly at the Fed since it was created-- See, The Federalist Papers and Marbury v Madison.
Not so sure on the other points, and looking at what is going on makes some sense.
In his day, Reagan, somewhat reluctantly, packed the Fed with his boys so he could reverse Volcker's relatively conservative money management. (Reagan agreed with VOlcker's anti-inflationary stance but Reagan's advisors prevailed on him to understand that having mild to moderate inflation might have long term problems but would assist the Pubs in their upcoming elections. Did so by telling Reagan their would be no inflation if the Fed loosened the reigns)
he'smy hero
Anon the BIS will announce its new campaign to abolish deflation as we know it, next stop for DXY 55. No worries my 401 has recovered.
Praying for Ron that he is not suicided behind an abortion clinic anytime soon....
Yes, America has been divided and conquered.
Defeating the elite means first and foremost getting people to recognize the common enemy, instead of all this squabbling "left vs right" BS.
We need a complete overhaul, not a 3rd party. Basically, just start over.
New currency on the gold standard, no federal reserve, new political parties, new members in Congress. A LOT remains to be done.
OK, this whole moderating of comments has to end.
It is killing discussions by delaying discourse. What the hell? Couldn't offensive comments be removed afterwards?
Also, DXY popped big on these numbers. Just more slack to weaken the dollar and drive up the market today. Does anyone doubt yesterday's inexplicable runup was a setup to pop the SPX over 1050 with these numbers?
good articles; good articles 4 slow news day ..http://www..
hat tip: finance news & finance opinions
No, the moderating of comments is absoluteley essential. As it is the true finance professionals on this site are being over-run by tin foil hatters from the Yahoo Bulletin Boards
And the CNN anchor starts off describing U6 as 'early retirement' ... nice.
lmao... but how big was her chest and how much of her cleavage could you see... that is what everyone on this site is really going to want to know... and if you could get a screen shot of that Robo could post it on his next commentary.
I wish he would be more specific about the power that the owners of the privately held federal reserve exert by their agent's massive political contributions which effectively buy polititians to make laws to legalize the very wrong things that are going on in the world of finance--like taking down the wall with the repeal of Glass-Steagall...for generations, families bought bank stocks for the dividend and the safety of income, and Glass-Stegall changed all of that so, instead of a bank dividend, these families started owning casino stocks. Unfortunately, no one really realized that until 2006 and beyond. That is just one example.
In that interview Rep Paul said that the chairman of the federal reserve "probably" had more power than the president...see this is just not specific enough..."probably" is just weak. Fact is, he should have articulated how that the owners of the federal reserve drive all policy, period, and that since they also own half of the DOW components, their financial resources are endless... the public needs to understand this dynamic and dark machine.
