Sarkozy Goes Postal On Jamie Dimon, Says Bankers Made World Into Madhouse

Tyler Durden's picture

It has just not been Jamie Dimon's day... or week. After a lawsuit earlier in the week implicated his firm in a mortgage scandal for selling "sack of shit" loans, which is very reminiscent of what Goldman did to AIG, the JPM boss had hoped that he could spin his lies and get everyone to forget that he and his klepocratic colleagues virtually destroyed the financial system, and net a reduction in supervision and regulation. After all the banks have been in purgatory where they have had to subsist on bonuses that average just over $300k for JPM (and $400k for Goldman): how on earth are they supposed to do that. During a Davos session Dimon lashed out
at persistent bank bashing nearly three years after the global
credit crisis began, saying it was "unproductive and unfair..
Not all banks are the same and I just think that this
constant refrain 'bankers, bankers, bankers' is just
unproductive and unfair. People should just stop doing that."
Enter Nicolas Sarkozy, who more so than anyone is concerned by the events in Tunisia and Egypt, considering an increasing percentage of the French population is of North African descent, and quite soon they may decide to do just what their Tunisian (and after tomorrow, Egyptian) brethren have done, and just get rid of their useless president.

Quote Sarkozy talking to Dimon, per Reuters:

"The world has paid with tens of millions of unemployed, who
were in no way to blame and who paid for everything. It caused a lot of anger.
Too much is too much. The world was stupefied to see one of five biggest U.S. banks collapse like a house of cards. We saw that for the last 10 years, major institutions in which we thought we could trust had done things which had nothing to do with simple common sense. That's what happened... There is an ocean between flexibility and the scandal we saw.  So if people present me as obsessed with regulation,
it's because there is a need for regulation. I don't contest the principle of securitisation, but when
one offshore country guaranteed 700 times its GDP, are we in the
market economy or in a madhouse?
Bonuses don't bother me, provided there are also ...
draw-downs when there are losses. When things don't work, you
can never find anyone responsible. Those who got bumper bonuses
for seven years should have made losses in 2008 when things
collapsed.
"

Wow. This could rival the best rant any angry blogger could come up with.

And Jamie's second attempt to make it seem like his feces don't stink suffered massive failure:

Not all banks needed that TARP. Not all banks would have
failed," Dimon said at the earlier session. "A lot of banks were
stabilising the problem -- JP Morgan bought Bear Stearns because
the U.S. asked us to."

Too bad that earlier today, as part of the FCIC disclosure we got the following revelation from none other then Chairprinter Shalom-Packard himself:

"If you look at the firms that came under pressure in that
period ... only one ... was not at serious risk of failure. Even Goldman Sachs, we thought there was a real chance that they would go under."

Sorry Jamie. Mission to get you to run the world all over again has experienced massive failure... for now.

Poor Jaime Dimon - Cry me a River.  Oh wait, Amazon just did.

And De Nile?  Egypt is coming out of denial.  If they can, maybe the USofA can too.  And then all those showboaters heading the garbage barges of TBTF shit holdings may find they need to take a slow boat to China or else find themselves up the creek without an oar.  Paddle his behind!

Sarkozy spoke the truth out loud and in public.

Our banking system is based on racketeering and fraud.  Bankers lie and spin and skim. And you get to pay the tab. Yes, even the Bernank's tab will be dropped onto the lap of the American public.

Celtic Agnostic.

Fuck all you Jew baiters; you fall into the fucking trap every time. Once you are painted a racist those thieving, criminal bankers (of every persuasion) win the argument.

http://www.businessinsider.com/allen-stanford-bernie-madoff-jail

Apparently he isn't safe where he's at, so he will be moving to the same prison as Bernie Madoff.  How nice to have company....is this the genesis of a ponzi prison scheme for ponzi criminals?  If so, then we will need a lot more convictions to build this human ponzi pyramid, and one Madoff already committed suicide, along with a few Madoff schemers, so we're kinda coming up short already.  Better get the prosecutions rolling...

Oh, and as a side note to Wall Street banksters....judging by the news story, you'd be advised to stay out of Texas unless you want to risk winding up looking like Allen.  Might want to stay put in Davos....I'm just sayin'

So the French government (who actually has its sole duty to the public), for which Sarkozy is responsible, is the model we all should follow.   Right.

Sarkozy is welcome not to do business with JPM or all US banks.  Stop the whining and put your money where your mouth is.  Stop investing in US assets.  Why in the world did French banks buy paper backed (directly or indirectly) by US mortgages?

Now... can we have Mr. Sarkozy speak about the 100:1 paper to gold coverage that currently exists.

Let's do some substitution work...

"but when a number of the world's largest financial institutions guarantee 100:1 paper to precious metal contracts, for which they don't have the precious metals to back these contracts, are we in a market economy or in a madhouse?"

When the PM market unwinds, it will be so violent and quick that the 2008 meltdown will be nothing compared to the trillions of dollars of PM contracts being called and demanding physical possession.

It's a comin....

Not until someone identifies that THE fundamental issue is that all is a Ponzi Scheme, playing along as though we can enjoy infinite growth on a finite planet, will we be able to even think about any "solution."

Why is it that this is over so many people's heads?  It's a very simple equation, simple math.  Barking about this ill and that ill is meaningless unless there's a sense of grounding a "solution" with the key fundamental.  Yeah, there's a shit load of crooks out there, but we all buy into their game, we don't really want to look too far under the hood lest we discover that what we've ALL been promoting is doomed.

Sarkozy knows everything is still on the brink ,he also probably gave up any chance of being relelected in France after raising the retirement age while he bailed out the banks . Sarkozy is going to have to explain in the near future why severe cuts in gov't are going to take place . He is unpopular because he has made some tough choices as right as they have been . I think the only thing that would save his presidency would be to cut bureaucracy dramatically where things in France can get easily done without permission from the gov't .Also tax cuts for the poor and middle class to show that smaller gov't has benefits .  Personally I like the guy (with the exception of his globalisation agenda) and he does want France to be like the US in it's hayday .

The dwarf is unpopular because everything's he's touching becomes a desaster. Poverty and criminality have rised in France since he was welected and the rich are getting richer than ever.

He's a liar who destroyed all freedom of speech and doing nothing to stop the fraud, a treator who works for the US and the banksters, a thief who's selling all the country infrastructures paid with the french people taxes money, a genocider who's destroying France's culture, identity, ethnicity with multiculturalisme, massive african immigration and islamisation. Some cities in France are already almost 50% muslims with huge criminality and Paris looks now like Zimbabwe. He even sold the Banque de France GOLD !

I have no problems with banks and the money they make as long as these are met:

1) a dollar of risk should be backed by a dollar of real capital (not the fractional kind or that is based on some model).

2) all cds, other derivatives, assets are marked to market on a weekly basis and settled by an independent clearing house. No exceptions.

3) No off balance sheet assets, or other fancy investment vehicles.

...lol...this would mean the collapse of the western finance as it exists.

So, over to characterising ZH as a hangout for rabid, racist, neo-nazi loons... Tucson overtones anyone?

I recall stumbling upon ZeroHedge a couple years ago and thinking that this one-man band who seemingly worked 20 hours a day must be some laid off wall streeter trying to eke out a living as a blogger.
Who knew ZH would go on to be the google of blogs.

Sure, ZH is going to get all types.
Especially so now & going forward as things get increasingly weirder.
And I've seen some decrying that it's no longer hard financial figures as it started out. But apparently Tylers evolution was self induced as he followed facts to the obvious conclusion that 'we're not in kansas anymore'.

Thankfully, Tyler pretty much keeps a hands off approach to the comments section.
One has merely to look at the US Gov as an example of something 'managed' to an absurb level. Why oh why would one ever want to emulate that.

Zero Hedge regulary gets 300+ (and as many as 800+) comments to articles. REGULARLY.

It's the ONLY site I know of that can claim that, even considering the likes of The New York Times and responses by readers to even their most widely read op/ed pieces by Krugman, Rich or their other top commentators.

It is my opinion that one of the reasons why this is so, in addition to the witty, original, thought-provoking and mudraking (in the best possible way of investigative analysis) characteristics of Zero Hedge, is because there is raw, relatively uncensored commentary allowed on here.

Zero Hedge thrives, in part, because it allows free speech, dumb-witty-racist-eloquent-profane-technical-grunting-whatever, rather than trying to restrict the flow of the stream of consciousness.

It's not Jews that are to blame, but a minority offshoot of the Jewish race.   Jews in general they are probably the biggest victims of these 'Edomites'.    They derive from Esau who traded his birthright to Jacob when he was starving having escaped from Babel with the cloak of Adam, being hotly pursued for 5 days when he arrived back home and made the trade.    It is the descendents of Jacob who questioned God how long they would be under the thumb of these 'Edomites', the answer of which is until the end of days.    We all suffer along with the Jews since Christ who made us all chosen.    It was the Edomites who claimed the land of Canaan where the hold overs of the children of fallen angels lived as giants, personified in Goliath who David slew.   It was Canaan that was the center of sin, of Sodom and Gomorrah, the land that was given over to Joshua and the Israelites.    But the Edomites did not vanish.   They became the high priests who knew who Jesus was, and conspired against him.   It was the Edomites as the money changers in the Temple whom Jesus evicted in his own indomitable style.   It is these same Edomites, of Jewish decent who plague the world today.   When you see a Hymie Dimon, or a Lloyd B, or B. Baranke, T. Geithner, et al, this is where they are from.   They are not attached to the earth, but the wealth of the world.   When Lloyd B talks of doing god's work, it is right to question to which god he refers.   His god is not the God of Abraham, but the god of Edomites, Canaanites.   Their god can be a serpent, a man, a swan, a bull... all those manifestations of gods, of fallen angels in our literature.   That is their god.   You clear those Edomites out and you go a long way towards freeing the Nation.

But its so screwed up now I think it will take a New Revolution.

It would have to be clear and organized - maybe market to the masses in such a way they would get behind it even if only for some stupid reason. People could prepare and I don't think it would take very many days to cause a stir. Would it work? How many days would it take? BK had his pay-the-bill-wrong-by-a-penny idea. . . I don't want too see it get too late for sane people to get together and have a plan. Can we talk about that?

But... stopping something is but a bandage.  We've got to accept that we have to educate ourselves that we cannot have infinite growth on a finite planet.  Failure to understand this means that we'll, if we're lucky, continue to operate in a Sisyphusian world... (continuing meaning that we won't blast ourselves out of existance)

Sarko nails it on the head, nothing but big money when times are good no losses when the shit hits the fan. Even worse stick the losses to the public because we could not possibly be that stupid to get into a situation like that when we are doing gods work. The thought that these cunts who claim themselves Traders at the TBTF Banks can pull it off  should have enraged people into rioting and dragging their sorry asses to prison but I expect too much from the common person. As a Trader who takes losses, sometimes bigger than I want,I find the current situation worse than Communism.  It is not about "Free Markets" its about " Fair markets" These cunts who run the TBTF Banks rammed this bullshit  about Free Markets down our throats  at the same time they took over the Specialists and Open Outcry Exchanges and forced  Electronic Trading up our asses.  It is not a coincidence that Volatility is out of control in the Commodities markets and that there is a complete lack of Liquidity in Equities. Banks have never made money being "Fair" they Front Run and Fee simple as that and when they got the fucking morons in Washington from, Reagan , Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, to repeal the Glass Steagall Act the shit hit the fan because these cunts dont know how to take a loss.  They cannonballed every losing position until the whole system blew up then left the ruins for the puplic to eat while never giving a god damn cent back.  They were not only Jewish by the fucking way. Race or Religion had nothing to do with it.  These pricks that Sarko called out deserve more than a little tounge lashing

I absolutely share your outrage, but Mr Sarkosy`s outrage is political posturing. It does not matter that what he says is true. `Watch what he does dont listen to what he says` applies to ALL politicians of every colour. Does he take political donations from the French TBTF banks? Did not SocGen and BNP recieve face value on a load of worthless MBS from the fed. Did not the Frech treasury recieve handsome tax reciepts from the French TBTF derivative traders. Thankfuly I left the financial markets a decade ago, in my time as a LIFFE floor trader (corpoate and local) I saw some gifted and hard working traders thrive and some lazy uneducated traders do even better by constantly frontrunning orderflow. This was especialy rife in the short interest rate back month spreads. The Banks desire to make that market electronic was driven by a desire to capture that front running ability for themselves. Now almost all the big option trades are pre arranged and never show on the screen untill the fill print goes through. Job Done. After the floor I made markets in OTC interest rade derivatives (the fairly basic/high volume ones) at a French TBTF and then a US TBTF. The culture in both places was exactly the same - So for Sarkosy to criticise Dimon is a joke, unless of course he is cleaning house in his own Banking system. Which he is not.

Hats off to Sarkozy for speaking the truth.

The governments around the world will now realize that if the banks and financial institutions are not refrained from speculation, their activities are likely to bankrupt countries causing hardship to a majority of the population.

They are likely to become a major pain for the politicians and central bankers themselves, the very class of people who let the banks exist in their present form after repealing The Glass Steagall Act in 1999 and allowing them to thrive under their patronage.

Where do you think OJ's defence team learned how to smoke screen the truth?  These TDTF banks are going to take down the whole system before they will admit they  would go bankrupt if they had to operate in unrigged conditions. Now they are wiping out all the middle class wealth to save their own bacon, As Martin Armstrong says these scenarios have all been played out many times since fiat money was created, and they all have failed. Physical gold and silver insulate us from this conjob that is taking place. Keep up the good work Tyler,  this website can be counted on to bring us the straightshooting facts.

Fiat just works on the larger Ponzi that is infinite growth on a finite planet.  It, like capitalism, is just really good about pushing growth (and together they kick ass!).

I do not believe that TPTB have it "out" for the "middle class."  The "middle class" is what has kept the poor from storming their gates, they're the buffer!

What's happening is that the Ponzi Growth Game has stalled, and it's been the "growth" mechanism that has created the "middle class."  The only way that this is all going to be addressed, if you can call it that, is to obfuscate, and the fog of war is really a good tool for doing just that...  but, there needs to be a sufficient enough boggy-man created.  Sigh, violence and war (I repeat myself) is the only thing that TPTB will accept, as anything else would mean their loss of privilege (loss of power).

I am too tired to utter a refined, eloquent, or deeply thought out opinion.

Without getting into the specifics, which I am 100% confident I could support in a debate against the sharpest mind out there, Jamie Dimon is a piece of shit, motherfucking, welfare queen, whose career and the very institution he is employed by have relied on government funding AND protectionism, in a myriad of ways, before, during and since the financial crisis.

If not for the government, Dimon would have to con his living in another manner, most likely far less financially rewarding, and actually requiring what might amount to hard work.

Fuck you, Jamie Dimon, you sack of shit. And fuck that whore, Blythe Masters, too.

Before all those present begin walking down the lane with Nicolas Sarkozy, it seems appropriate to learn a few facts examining some of his recent activity.

Mish wrote this week: Sarkozy Calls for G-20 to Regulate Commodities, a New G-Club to Tackle Currencies

“French President Nicolas Sarkozy is now convinced the recovery is real and the only thing left to do is tie up some loose ends. He thinks the most pressing G-need is for the G-20 to regulate commodities and that is the right size of the group.

"In contrast, Sarkozy thinks the G-20 is too large and unwieldy to tackle currencies. He proposes a G-5 or G-14 or some other unknown G-number hoping to hit the magic G-spot."

As Jesse’s Café Americain puts it, “It is a mistake to view what happened as some accident, or a natural development. It was a pre-meditated campaign to subvert the economy and the political protections of the vast majority of US citizens.”

Ask yourself, who are the players?  Who are the central bankers, the heads of the IMF, the World Bank…?  Who are the principals of the TBTFs, the owners of the Fed? Who controls the power centers and political elite of in the US?  Who are the perpetual winners; the perpetual losers?

Because of Sarkozy’s dominant takeover as point man on the European bailout, he’s being thought of more and more as an economic insider, as more than a political insider.

It was French President Nicolas Sarkozy and then president of the European Union who said on September 26, 2008: “We must rethink the financial system from scratch, as at Bretton Woods.”  And then he called for a new international monetary system--the ultimate grab by the international financiers for all the world’s finance marbles. At last year’s World Economic Forum in Davos 2010, he called for creation of a World Environment Organization (WEO) as powerful as the World Trade Organization (WTO).

i have no doubt many interests combine in an attempt to engineer financial control and political power - but keep in mind that just as often these same interested parties clash - this sarko outburst seems to be evidence of the latter, and you rightly cite some examples of the former - inflation is a cruel mistress - watch this good crises waste some of the most powerful

not every potentiality of a disaster can be engineered or taken advantage of, especially given the variety of powerful interests that need to align
