"The Secret Of Oz" - The Truth Behind The Modern Financial System, And The Money-Political Complex

Tyler Durden's picture

While America is entertained by a rather realistic cartoon of what happens when the Fed (semantics aside) prints money with which to buy up whatever assets it so chooses, and launders the cash for the Primary Dealers (a topic discussed ad nauseam on Zero Hedge), we present a rather more somber and serious look at the modern financial system, courtesy of Bill Still, creator of the movie: "The Secret of Oz" which explains in a far more nuanced manner the interconnectedness in the vicious square of power, politics, money creation and debt formation, and Wall Street, the Fed, and the Political forces in DC are intertwined to a degree that essentially makes the whole concept of democracy moot (a topic touched upon earlier by Bill Buckler). As Still  says: "The world economy is doomed to spiral downwards until we do 2 things:
outlaw government borrowing; 2. outlaw fractional reserve lending. Banks
should only be allowed to lend out money they actually have and nations
do not have to run up a "National Debt". Remember: It's not what backs
the money, it's who controls its quantity." As more and more Americans are finally expressing an interest in what is really happening behind the scenes, but seem to not have the patience for simple algebra, we hope the following movie answers most of the pent up questions.

Still's movie is well worth the two hours it takes to watch.

In the history of assassination, has anyone ever been shot by a mere disgruntled subordinate / deranged gunman? Are the ancient banking cartels the only source of assasins in all of history?

I got decived with Bill Still ideas as soon as I starting learning some economics. Also, a lot of his historic "facts" are false.

Its a shame.

The dirty little secret is that the unelected, unaccountable Federal Reserve private banksters have been central planners of the economy for decades.  They've been deciding winners and losers and doing God's work, that is of course, if you believe God is bald and has a view of Central Park.

Video got me interested enough to find other commenters' sites to understand more.

Agree with others that the video is disingenuously vague and "propagandistic." Makes me suspicious of the whole viewpoint.  Good documentaries lead a viewer along to make thier own conclusions.  This one fails here.

Bill Still is a progressive activist that wants fiat money printed by congress.

It is  important to remember that this would be more destructive than our current insane system run by private banks.

We need a market created currency backed by gold.

It feels so sick to live in a world where all governments are busy pumping markets than economy. How is it that always, all poor economists end up as financial advisors to the governments, who end up trying repeating same mistakes.

How can they be allowed to experiment on whole nation and fail again and again.

:-(

The video itself shows that inflation ruined every system of 'debt-free money' that has ever been created.

It is impossible to create wealth out of thin air contrary to what this video appears to imply.  Any attempt to do so will sooner or later lead to inflation, then hyperinflation, then the complete destruction of the fiat/debt-free money.

The most sophisticated attempt to perform this alchemy has been the last 39 years.

Interesting what the economy had done to the market for Florida waterfront real estate. This area is full of foreclosures.
