Senators Once Again Show They Only Work For The Fed And Wall Street: Vote Vitter Amendment Down 62-37
Even as the toothless Sanders amendment passes unanimously and with the full endorsement of Chris Dodd (all you need to know) the Vitter amendment is voted down 62-37. In the meantime, America still pretends it is not a bankster-controlled despotic regime, in which the wealth of the middle class is funneled every day into the Wall Street/Propaganda ponzi. We will provide the rollcall and names of all financially secure for life, pardon, nay voters shortly.

The republic is finished.
The sith lord is amongst us and holds the entire senate under a mind control.
Remember there are always 2 of them, who is the master, who is the apprentice?
I always thought that was Bush/Cheney hidden in plain sight. Now I think Cheney is the apprentice. The rest are just Ewoks.
It was finished a while ago...they are just getting around to the burial part...

we have the government we've asked for, that much is for sure...
How so? You asked for 'change', but are being offered less than 'spare change'.
You can't seriously tell me you see any real differences between the two parties, except mb in the rhetoric. Same endgame as far as the malevolent eye sitting atop the pyramid on your increasingly worthless $1 bill can see.
MB you should have voted for some real change in 2008; like a guy who has over 4 decades of documented wins for main street. I bet Ralph Nader wouldn't let GS rape you... at the very least he'd probably force 'em to use some lube and wear a condom; perhaps even a pillow for you to rest your cheek upon.

Thanks, I needed that laugh. Now, I'm going to cry.
I already guarantee you before you even post the nay voters that idiots Kay Hagan and Richard Burr from NC voted no. North Carolina loves welfare and medicaid. The governor raises taxes, vehicle registration costs, cuts school funding even though there is a North Carolina education lottery they are supposed to be getting funds from that counties never see, layoff teachers, in order to subsidize the welfare projects.
I got 5 more years to work, then I will have enough to move out of this country for good. It is all crooks and sinners running the show, and I pray GOD has no mercy on them when their time comes.
Who needs sKool righd?
righd! +1
I'll double check, but I thought I heard Burr as an aye on 3760 while Hagan, wall street whore, voted no as expected
Hey Carolina -
This just in....sorry you didn't get the earlier memo - you don't have five years. Please proceed accordingly.
Best,

You left out the special parting gift for everyone who plays our little game today. Dollar devaluation 100 to 1. Thanks for not looking behind the wizards curtain everyone.
I've already been moving dollars to PHP for several years since it was 50 to 1 ratio. Its about 45-1 now, been as high as 57. I'm not gonna wait and let it be 1 to 1 when I move as Bernanke ruins the dollar.
You're in the right ball park. Today is another sad day for those left behind. Oh well, at least there are good seats left to watch the collapse. Interesting times make for interesting lives.
where would you move to?
I am pleased your an optomist, that you think WE have 5 more years.( Esp the part about having a choice, about leaving.)
You leave, they take 50% of your savings.............but, you stay, they taking it all.
Hope some get that chance.
I've read an expat guide that documents a lot of research. If accurate, the first 2 million is tax-free. If ones net worth is more than 2 mil the exit tax starts.

ZH posted it on May 4. interesting read/comments.
odd. i can't find the 'search' field on my firefox-rendered ZH page anymore, or i'd post the link. somebody else mentioned the same problem yesterday. hmmmm
I bailed on NC because of the damn taxes. I could never tell where the money was going, only that some sort of major corruption existed in that once conservative state. My condolences, but I feel much more at home in the upper midwest than I ever did it that state. Not that every state isn't facing some major challenges with welfare-statism and leftist ideology.
aerojet,
Well, I'm Texan, and we have bad news..Kalifornicators are here, and more headed our way.

Everybody should pull their support against the ones that voted no to the Vitters Amend.. Vote them out of office when the time comes.
Voting doesn't work when you have a 2 headed snake
vote tea party and stick it to the double-headed monsters.
Ok, lets start the audits and see how many the fed rejects "because it interferes with monetary policy". Eventually, this should get some attention.
ok Tyler, the link you posted shows the vote 96-0 all in favor of the amendment? WTF?
roll call info on vote 138 has not been published. vote 138 is the vitter amendment.
Vote 138 says it refers to FOMC meetings
To address availability of information concerning the meetings of the Federal Open Market Committee, and for other purposes.
Vote 137 deals with the Audit from what is on the link page Tyler posted.
But I see now, where Tylers topic title just refers to the Vitter, I thought I saw it posted as rejected audit, unless he changed it when he noticed it. All is good.

I think they may see the writing on the wall.

Senate Sellout Threatens Congressman Paul’s “Audit the Fed” Bill
Taxpayers Deserve a Full, Transparent Audit of the Federal Reserve by the GAO
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Ron Paul (TX-14) expressed disappointment that his landmark legislation to audit the Federal Reserve Bank – which passed by a wide margin in the House Financial Services committee and has over 319 House co-sponsors – was threatened by a compromise in the Senate today.
More specifically, Paul’s language (passed by the House) to audit the Federal Reserve has been stripped from the Sanders Amendment to the Senate financial reform bill. Instead, the Sanders Amendment now contains softer compromise language that exempts monetary policy decisions, discount window operations, and agreements with foreign central banks from Government Accounting Office (“GAO”) audit.
This is of particular concern when several countries such as Greece, Portugal, and Spain are seeking IMF help in the midst of their financial crises, because American taxpayers provide fully 17% of all IMF funding.
“Taxpayers are weary of bailing out privileged banks and corporations in the US, and we certainly cannot afford to bail out entire countries. The possibility of this happening behind a veil of Federal Reserve secrecy is not acceptable,” stated Congressman Paul. “This compromise language represents a huge missed opportunity by Congress to finally make the Fed accountable for trillions of taxpayer dollars it administers. Full transparency, via a full GAO audit, is the only acceptable option. However, I am grateful to Senator Vitter for offering the original full audit language in an alternative amendment to the bill.”

The Banks are using profits to pay for their Lobby? not the 0% Fed Window?

So that I am clear... 2008 was a vintage year for Banks? they made soooooooooooooooooooooo much money on 2008 that in the first 3 months of 2009... they could drop $104.7 MILLION DOLLARS?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergency_Economic_Stabilization_Act_of_2008
or in summary, the Sanders amendment strips the audit of any domain except Ben's belly lint.

What uncorrupt country have you found? Are you moving to Galt's Gulch?

LOL, I'm heading to the Philippines with the wife. At least you can be crooked with them there. Unlike here. And if need be I can build my own Nipa Hut. At least I won't be homeless like 80% of America.
I'm seriously considering my wife's couintry of origin, Sri Lanka
That's one beautiful country. A wonderful place to look into, now that LTTE has been "defeated". An Island nation with wonderful people and some really beautiful women.
One of the ten English words that were most difficult to translate - Serendipity - is derived from Persian name for the Island - Serendip-, which in turn is derived from a Sanskrit word.
Just be aware that if the wheels fall off in the US they fall off in the Philippines, maybe sooner, and in the Philippines they'll pick you out of a crowd as a foreign ex-pat and "nationalize" your ass-ets, and then either hang you on the spot or send you back to the US on the next tramp freighter leaving with the tide.
No worries, I got plenty of relatives on the wife's side. LOL At least in the Philippines the people got balls to when they have had enough, they show up at the president's home and throw his ass out, Like they did with Marcos. Even while martial law was being declared at that. Americans just bend over and take it up the ass, then ask for bigger d**ks the next time. LOL
It's clear to me that Sander's amendment was a CYA amendment for ORahmaRod
ok Tyler, the link you posted shows the vote 96-0 all in favor of the amendment? WTF?
Sanders Amend. not Vitters Amend.
Yea noted above, this was a double post somehow, sorry.
Fake audit passes so the Senators can pretend they are for America. Remarkable. The proverbial attempt at cake and eating it too.
Pushed by a "socialist" no less ;)
Sanders exposed.
Oh I forgot....its all Bush's GoldmanSachs' fault.
Quick get Taibbi on the horn.
Scott Brown voted which way?
Senator Brown: Nay
Every senator who's state is home office to a major bank voted Nay except Sen. Webb of VA. and Burr of NC.
Ok, it's over. The Fed is running the show. The Stock market is nothing but an instrument. Close your accounts, Go home and play with your kids.
Karl Denniger at Market-Ticker.org said pretty much the same thing yesterday:
"You cannot invest or trade in markets that behave this way; it is impossible to go to sleep with a position, either bullish or bearish, and not wake up to find it ridiculously underwater. This isn't "stability" being demonstrated as the Euro folks and Bernanke claim, it is schizophrenia, it's destructive and it's impossible to be involved in a market that behaves this way without eventually waking up to all your money being gone.
It is time to give up folks and leave the machines to themselves."

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- A controversial measure requiring the government to conduct an unprecedented one-time audit of the Federal Reserve's economic crisis response programs was approved with overwhelming bipartisan support Tuesday by the Senate as part of sweeping bank reform legislation. The amendment also calls for releasing the names of institutions that received in total more than $2 trillion in loans from the central bank during the peak of the financial crisis. The provision received a vote of 96-0, with many lawmakers agreeing to back it following a compromise reached late Thursday. "This makes it clear that the Fed can no longer operate under the kind of secrecy it has been operating under," said Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., the measure's author.

Just like "The Running Man" where the good guy is shown on State TV as ordering the massacre that he actually tried to prevent.
If the State or its whores tell you the sky is blue, it's time to be afraid for your sanity.
Can we run that against the bailout vote, there may be a pattern here :)
***** "The provision received a vote of 96-0" *****
Levin and McCaskill...hahahahaha....what a bunch of assholes.
The yay/nay count on the real amendment is horseshit, they rig it for those who need to look good...in place ALL can say they voted to audit as per the Sanders tally.
Don't get all excited about the yea votes by some, and mistakenly think that they are trying to do right by this country. Hutchinson and Cornyn both voted "Nay" for Brown-Kaufman, but voted "Yea" for this one. WTF?!!
Perhaps they were getting heat from their constituents who actually vote, and got a pass to vote yes, given the likely outcome? I'm going to remember the Brown-Kaufman vote for a loooong time.
hog trading.
they're allowed to vote 'yea' when they know there won't be enough votes to get it through. it's all PR. my guy is a hundred year dem and was allowed to buck the party line a few votes back. it's a game.
send a gold coin to the opposition...
Very close to being a vote right along party lines. The Democrats, the party of the people... my ass...

* FDIC proposes large banks submit wind-down plans
* Proposes protections for responsible securitizations
* Dugan, Bowman vote against securitization proposal
WASHINGTON - The largest U.S. banks would be required to submit plans to regulators for their dismantling in times of severe distress, and securitizations with higher standards would get federal protection, under two rules proposed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp Tuesday.
The proposals are aimed at reforming two key drivers of the recent financial crisis -- the perception that some financial firms are "too big to fail," and the repackaging of shoddy loans into securities that flung risk throughout the financial system.
In one rule, the FDIC proposed that about 40 of the nation's largest deposit-taking banks submit to regulators what amounts to a "living will."
http://www.wallstreetandtech.com/regulatory-compliance/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=224701507&cid=nl_wallstreettech_daily
FDIC is throwing horseshit. Reality is that the Financial Inquiry Commission's budget is only $8Mil fiatscos.
They are working out of Maddof's bean counters office.. 10 foot by 10 foot room with no windows or doors.. sorry, you made a great comment and I had to humor it up. Thanks Duuude and sorry for the levity, unless you liked then Rock On!
"The largest U.S. banks would be required to submit plans to regulators for their dismantling in times of severe distress,"
why wait? They are the ones causing or materially contributing to distress.

There is only ONE way to change this charade, and it ain't through the ballot box. The Bankster Cabal owns the politicians.
You have to starve the beast. Withdraw your participation.
In order to do this, you have to understand that you've been conditioned to work your ass off, pay taxes, and buy shit you don't need. Stop doing that.
Unplug and they will starve. More and more are unplugging.."going Galt"...
Through your dependence on the "system" you have made yourself a slave. You think you will shrivel up and die without your slave owners assistance. Guess what? You are going to shrivel up and die anyways...
So your choice is either to die like a cowardly slave, or die on your own terms.
Some really like being slaves (in it's many forms), they know nothing else and , frankly, it suits them. Let them be, they can't help it.
Others know exactly what I'm talking about and are talking steps to, at least, make an attempt to live in freedom.
+1
Starve the beast!
and guess what, none of what you mentioned is against the Law.
Agree completely. The way to shut it down is not be a player.
Is this plan of yours something around farming and living in some remote area? I don't think that idea will scare to 305 million, sorry. All this self-sufficent, rugged-individual stuff is appealing, but it does not address the underlying problem. It's the coward's way out, frankly. I don't mean being a rugged individual is cowardly, I mean that it is avoidant and no matter what, it is not "on your own terms" because you were driven to it by externalities. All it really is is a rationalization, nothing more.
no wish to argue amigo. one man's coward is another's hero for sure. but riddle me this: does the "Be Like Bartelby" method above infringe on any other's "life, liberty or pursuit of happiness"?
if so, please advise, as i'm quite open to revealing blind spots. if not, then it is his right to choose to do so, regardless of your or mine or anyone's opinion, is it not?

The Fed hands out the money, so of course they will protect the Fed..
Yeah well, yeah, fair enuff. I'll stick with "March on them" for the sake of argument then.
Money for re-election doesn't really matter if they get voted out after a term though.

When are we going to get the opportunity to put wagers on legislation passing/failing the Senate or House voting?
Set this up at a casino sport's book, could pull in some major green.
JPM is already accepting derivative bets on this. They even got a derivative on whether Bill Clinton will end up with Monica after all, after Obama gets done boning Hillary. Once you go black, you can't go back. LOL

maybe they thought they were voting on their competence to audit the fed?
even if they Voted the real bill thru... with an army of Bean Counters, no one.. not Tyler... not my guys, could plow thru the bullshit... they would hand over a paper trail, for starters.. anyone here worth thier salt knows this was and / woulda, coulda never ever fucking happened... Of course most here think thru the delivery of the physical Gold that they can rock the boat???

Um ... the Chinese are betting on exactly that. As stated public policy.
Not saying I'm buying any, just noting that the idea of rocking the boat is out there making the rounds.
One of my two senators voted agains the Vitter amendment. Funny thing is that's exactly the opposite of what he was being told to do. Just another town clown to do away with.
I'm sure the auditors will find crucial documents have been 'misplaced.'

Number of Democrats who Voted Nay = 11 Out of 41 = 26% of Republicans
Percentage of Democrats up for election who voted Yea = 28% of Democrats

Spin Bitches!!!!
This is what you USians get for having attention spans shorter than a fleas dick.
Bribed encumbant senator: "I voted for auditing the fed"
Opponent: Tries to explain what really happened but can't fit it into 10 second sound bite.
Voter: Tunes out and votes for encumbant
i've seen at least 3 of these headlines since vitter's failed....media = epic fail
NObody running against Schumer, that pig, so who will I vote for?
Write-in yourself.
Seriously.
Monty Burns?
Another interesting breakdown would be to see who voted "NAY" for Brown-Kaufman, but "YEA" for Vitter. My formerly fine senators from the great state of TX voted against Brown-Kaufman, but for Vitter. Either they are darn hypocrites, or they saw the [self-preservation?] light after constituents such as myself contacted them.
Percentage of Democrats who voted for Vitter but against Brown Kaufman: 0%
Percentage of Republicans who voted for Vitter but against Brown Kaufman: 23 out of 36 = 63%
If all 23 of those had voted for Brown Kaufman vote would have been 56 Yea - 38 Nay

No problem. If every person who reads this just takes 5 minutes to explain this to 1 person it makes a difference.
