Senators Once Again Show They Only Work For The Fed And Wall Street: Vote Vitter Amendment Down 62-37
Even as the toothless Sanders amendment passes unanimously and with the full endorsement of Chris Dodd (all you need to know) the Vitter amendment is voted down 62-37. In the meantime, America still pretends it is not a bankster-controlled despotic regime, in which the wealth of the middle class is funneled every day into the Wall Street/Propaganda ponzi. We will provide the rollcall and names of all financially secure for life, pardon, nay voters shortly.

So what can we draw from both Brown and Kaufman voting against this? It's so frustrating to watch both parties behave as chameleons with dollar signs in their eyes...
Wondered at first if it was a typo, but there really is a Senator Crapo from Idaho....Given his vote on B-K, the name says it all. How fitting. Maybe Mr. or Ms. Spud can run against him in the next primary or general election.
How exactly did Vitter NOT vote on the Brown Ammend....wtf??

Boxer and Feinstein...those bitches.
Richard Burr (R) North Carolina, Up for re-election (won last week's primary).
Thanks for the summary, very helpful!
One of the Nays was already voted out: Bennett (R-UT)
Levin voted against it!!
and Chuck, that F**** pig Schumer and nobody is running agains him
Tell everyone you know to vote ALL incumbents out of office. We need to clean house. Give the power back to the people not the crooks on Wall Street.
"Vitters amendment might have 'compromised the Fed's independence'"...
That was the whole damn point! Fed independence is a bigger threat than Al Quaeda.
Fed independence compromises the constitution, but who cares, it's just a piece of paper, right?
From Akaka of Hawaii to Whitehouse of Rhode Island, fuck you very much.
Oh, pardon me. But not for the epithet; rather, for being naive enough to think America was a democracy.
May you all choke on your lobbyist dinner celebration tonight.
Don't hold back now, tell us what you really feel.
If I wrote half the things I'm thinking, Marla would banish me to some hellhole like...wait! I'm already in one of Bush's "Outposts of Tyranny".
My humor deserts me tonight. I am both sickened and saddened by what the US has become. It is barely better than where I am, and worse in the sense that the US' leaders hold themselves up to be something they lack both the character and integrity to be, whereas here nobody bothers to pretend. Yes, there are a few good men such as Rep Paul and Sen Kaufman, but they are easy marginalized by the system. I hold no illusions that change is possible, not via the ballot box nor in the kind of populist action circumstances now demand. It is what it is in the US, corrupt as any Third World hellhole (at the top), and it will never change. The system will not allow it, and the populace is either too stupid or too pacified to stand up and toss off the yoke of financial oppression Bush, Obama, Congress, the Fed, the Banks, etc., have thrust on the masses. There comes a time when there is only one answer left, but collectively we lack the courage to do the needful. So the oppression will continue unabated. And unchallenged, except by those occasionally willing to piss into the wind.
your in the axis of evil?
"Outposts of Tyranny"
WHY?
did you commit tyranny?
o/t My humor deserts me tonight.

I can't wait to see the headlines tomorrow; "Senate agrees (96-0) to audit Federal Reserve." Finally, the American people get their wish! /Sarcasm off
Today's vote on the Vitter amendment is stark confirmation that our politicians are OWNED whores who will perform any requested act so long as the pay is right.
Oh well, I guess we are all responsible for how our politicians conduct themselves because we put them there in the first place. / Cognitive Dissonance off
'And so 250 years of democracy ends, not with a bang, but with a wimper'
strannick,
Hey bro, it hasn't even started yet.
Besides we are not a Democracy.........even though most folks think so.
+1
democracy = political ideology
Constitutional Republic (former USA) = form of government

The bang will come when the pretend and xtend reach critical mass. The faster the better if you ask me.
Shocked that Vitter could introduce something of necessity, other than a package of diapers and wad of 100's
Time for Barbara Boxer, Patty Murray, and Harry Reid to go out here on the left coast.
Interestingly enough, this page is headed (on my pc) with an attack video titled "Rand Paul - A Threat to Kentucky Values." I'm sure he is a threat to someone, but a quick glance at his website shows support for HR1207. Does anyone have a reading on this guy? Is he an honest, or just an opportunistic, conservative (in the old-fashioned sense of the word)? I have lived in the state 6 years now, but have to admit don't know much about its politicians.
From what tree did that apple fall? Couldn't have made it very far...
