Shanked, Then Cranked. Another Banner Day for Goldman

RobotTrader's picture

Yet another day where Goldman scored huge once again.  Where is Dick Bove today?  No doubt, he must be luxuriating in an Opium Den and Massage Parlor somewhere in Chinatown, cavorting with 17-year old Asian Exotica, after receiving a hefty payout from the Prop Desk boys at Goldman..

Hilarious how Bove's Wells Fargo massacre was completely and totally reversed, as the KRE staged a dramatic turnaround...

And the weakest sector lately has been the restaurants.  Chipolte coughed up a warning last night and the stock was down hard after hours.  No worries, Goldman seized yet another opportunity to "Shank and Crank" that stock for some quick money.....

All in all, just another opportunity for Goldman to inflict the maximum amount of pain possible in the shortest period of time, directed at its own largest clients.

No doubt, leaving a grenade blast in the trading desks of most of its top Prime Brokerage clients:

Where is Dick Bove now???

Oh, we found him.....

At least we know for sure now that yesterday's dump was part just the prequel to another boring short squeeze.

With dumb investors and fund managers, the boyz can keep this game going for a few more years.

S&P 2000 DJI 20.000, AU 2000 and 20% U3 here we come.

Go long bullshit and you should be fine.

They lure you in with hopes that it's finally over and bam! shiv you in the neck.

If you can get the 5% swing on a down day and the boomerang 10% on the up day, you're very happy.

Hey - easy on the use of the word Shanked. If anyone but you RT I would be pissed (even if some of the actual meanings of the word are pretty dire). Oh, nice work as always.

Just another one of those "junk UP, value DOWN" days that we have been getting used to...but don't worry...it's all so...so...ARTIFICIAL.  Can't keep it up forever.  This feels now like...early October.....1929.

History sure seems destined to repeat itself . We did not learn from the 1929 crash. Next crash x 10 .

Listen fool me once shame on you fool me twice... We're all adults. At this point you are foolish for falling for the same trap yet again. Not saying I agree with the rally here but Christ play the hand you're dealt

After a 500 handle rally, what cards are we playing now? Buy it and hope it's not the top?

the best post on the bear blogs from yesterday (Oct. 21) was this one from Tim Knight and his wildly popular Slope of Hope shortly after the Market did its Bove Swan

Anonymous, we ARE playing the hand we're dealt.  We're playing the probabilities, and the odds now MUST favour an eventual down trend beginning.  However, we do all resent manipulation.  Said manipulation is getting more and more expensive for them to keep up.

I looked and looked on Wednesday to find something - anything! - to buy LONG.  Nothing.  Precious metals - possibly overpriced & getting to be a longer- and longer-term play.  Banks & REITS?  Need I say more?  One day the next day's bounce up WON'T come.  Tech?  Sky-high NASDAQ.  Base metals?  Absurd prices on next-to-no demand...

Nothing wrong with accumulating cheap shorts and cash now...

lotsa paper chasing this rally.  The paper gets more worthless everyday.  The new norm....triple digit PE Ratio for the S & P.

RT,

That is, without doubt , the funniest shit I have seen--truly ROTFLMAO. Despite rumors to the contrary intelligence does not equate to power.

P.S. How many of you guys think the Yanks threw the game tonight? Come on now childern--are there any big boys here who can admit to reality?

I'm sure if you guys worked at GS you'd be all for the fair market. It's really sad to see failed traders crying to mama on here.

Quite clear to me that Tyler and RobotTrader were turned down by Goldman Sachs out of college or business school. The relentless disparagement of GS, and accusations of "criminal behavior" by GS, w/o a shred of evidence are quite telling.

Tyler and Robo, I enjoy many of your posts, but I am sorry that you are permanently scarred by not having the opportunity to build a career at Goldman; the premier platform on Wall Street.

Oh, and Tyler, I know you won't post this message as I've already concluded, based on experience, that your web site engages in censorship, which seriously degrades the site's potential value. Nevertheless, I penned this for you.

You post makes for great entertainment. Why is it that all of you insist on trying to explain the market ? Are all market reversals the result of evil machinations ? Traders trade. Complainers complain. A weak argument clad in charts and inflammatory bullsh*t is still a weak argument. ZH has become a haven for verbose , pseudo-intellectual pessimists. Wake up and see what's in front of you. Play the hand you are dealt.
Get off the doom train.
