A Shocked France Reacts To The Strauss-Kahn News

Tyler Durden's picture

A plethora of shocked, shocked, responses, that Strauss-Kahn tried to get away (and off) with it again... Of course, the focus now is on the presidential race which just like that of the US, following the Mike Huckabee announcement, is once again wide open.

HERVE MORIN, FORMER Defense MINISTER, PRESIDENT NEW Center PARTY

"I'm
not a socialist, he is not my political friend, but despite that I call
for the presumption of innocence. I will not take part in the witch
hunt, with the dogs that are barking and those spreading rumors and
saying 'I told you so'."

FRANCOIS BAROIN, FRENCH GOVERNMENT SPOKESMAN

"We
have to be extremely prudent in analysis, comments and consequences.
The position of the French government respects two principles: a legal
process under the authority of American justice ... and the respect of
the presumption of innocence."

MARTINE AUBRY, SOCIALIST PARTY LEADER

"The
news we received from New York last night struck like a thunderbolt. I
call on the Socialists to stay united and reasonable.

"I urge that we wait for the facts, respect the presumption of innocence and to maintain the necessary decency."

FRANCOIS HOLLANDE, CANDIDATE FOR SOCIALIST PARTY PRIMARY

"I'm
flabbergasted, It's terrible news. There is a charge, but it's not
proof of guilt. We have to react with emotion ... but also with reserve.

"It
doesn't resemble the man I know. The sooner justice intervenes, the
earlier it will be better for him, the institution he represents and for
all of us."

CHRISTINE BOUTIN, PRESIDENT OF CHRISTIAN DEMOCRAT PARTY

"Do you realize the image of France in all this? It's no longer possible for DSK (Strauss-Kahn)."

JEAN-CHRISTOPHE CAMBADELIS, STRAUSS-KAHN ALLY

"At
this time, I neither want to nor can draw hasty conclusions about the
charges against Dominique Strauss-Kahn. This whole story does not
resemble him. (He) will soon be able to speak and defend himself."

SEGOLENE ROYAL, CANDIDATE FOR SOCIALIST PARTY PRIMARY

"This
man must be respected, his family must be respected. I don't want to
make use for myself of what has happened. I think it would be indecent
to make an episode out of this today and the rest of the week."

MARINE LE PEN, NATIONAL FRONT LEADER AND 2012 CANDIDATE

"The
case and the charges ... mark the end of his campaign and pre-campaign
for the presidency and will most likely prompt the IMF to ask him to
leave his post."

FRANCOIS BAYROU, CENTRIST FORMER PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

"All
this is completely astounding, immensely troubling and distressing. If
the facts prove true ... it's something degrading for all women. It's
terrible for the image of France."

MICHEL TAUBMANN, STRAUSS-KAHN BIOGRAPHER

"Evidently,
it could harm his career if it proves true that he has committed these
acts, but if he manages to clear himself of this then it could be
beneficial to him.

"If he's falsely accused, that could benefit him because the French don't like someone being wrongly accused."

JACQUES ATTALI, ECONOMIST AND PROMINENT SOCIALIST

"This
will change things. We are going to have a (Socialist Party) campaign
of Martine Aubry versus Francois Hollande. The presidential election is
far from being decided and there can be surprises, as this shows. The
current president is far from being beaten.

"The
most likely outcome is that this case will stick and even if he pleads
not guilty, which he may be, he won't be able to be candidate for the
Socialist primary for the presidency and he won't be able to stay at the
IMF."

DOMNINIQUE PAILLE, OF THE CENTRIST RADICAL PARTY

"It's
absolutely crazy. If it's true it would be a historic moment, in the
negative sense, for French politics... I cannot believe it.

That's funny. Most of the money that went to AIG was funneled to European banks, et. The American TAXPAYER paid for the FIRST  European Bailout. Somehow, someway, it won't be our last if these crooks can help it.

Wow, someone went on a junking spree. Why so many junks? I can understand the junks for poor taste (what appears to me as degrading remarks to women). but most of the junks were done just for the hell of it.

securing a diary. now these leaders suddenly cry out
for restraint and the processes of law. oh boy.

The reason he was taken to PSA 5 is because it's absolutely perfect for excluding the press. It's located in the lobby of a city housing project about 79 blocks from where his arrest should have been processed, at Midtown North Precinct on W. 54th Street and 8th Avenue. And since the crime wasn't committed on Housing Authority property, I don't see how they get to process this scumbag except that Ray Kelly and the members of the Bloomberg good old boys club didn't want Dominique processed like every other skell who commits this sort of crime. Bail can only be set at an arraignment in front of a judge since this is a felony and he should be brought to Central Booking, in Police Headquarters, after his paperwork is processed by the Housing Police.

In France one is guilty until proven innocent, unlike in the USA.This will turn out to be another "circus" in the uSA and nothing more. Money talks in USA.

In 2002, DSK was accused of rape, and in 2008 of having an affair while his wife was home by the fireside. Now this.

Who is shocked in France? Certainly not the French or their elites. The French are known for this type of behavior. Even Sarko's wife is famous because of her exploits. No wonder the Arabs wouldn't allow her into their countries. France is definitely not the country for the Mother Theresa's of this world.

Let's see how this plays out.

And then came the global financial crisis, a product of excessive risk-taking, compounded by regulatory and supervisory failures that massively damaged financial systems in both the United States and Europe. The result was a deep recession -- while a much deeper downturn was averted only by the concerted action of policymakers around the globe, who provided unprecedented amounts of budgetary and monetary stimulus. China played a highly constructive role in this collective effort, reflecting its expanding role and responsibilities with regard to global economic governance.  (last emphasis mine)

that Paste, above, is from lipsky, 2 daze ago;  here's the link, but it is very boring:  China: Economic Transformation and Financial Reform; Speech by John Lipsky, First Deputy Managing Director, International Monetary Fund

this is interesting, below, eh?

I should also note that the IMF has been working intensively with the Chinese authorities over the past year, as part of the Financial Sector Assessment Program — or FSAP — to identify and prioritize the principal tasks needed to further strengthen China’s financial system. I am confident that this collaborative effort is proving to be useful, by adding IMF experts' unique international experience to help support China's financial reform.

...stuff like this is why i think the chinese must sometimes just sit and wonder what the hell they have gotten themselves into!

Yup.

The Chinese have bought their way into the club with all that U.S. Debt - and a U.S. dependent on cheap plastic crap from China and China (Asia-Eurasia-Europe) dependent on cheap food from the U.S. breadbasket.

What's that?  You don't want to help out the U.S. Treasury and FED?  Time to increase those Ethanol subsidies and make certain we grow more corn to waste and plant less wheat.

What's that?  You don't want to buy flat screen televisions and Hello Kitty purses?  Oops, we buy fewer treasuries and jerk U.S. corporations investing in China around - we make'ah dah rules Yankee!

Enter IMF passing taxpayers money around like coke at an orgy/circle jerk and thanking China for their "increased participation".

I want to stay at home and read about it, not be taxed out the ass to pay for someone else's jiz fest, ummmkay!?!?

I'd say "unphuking-believiable" if I hadn't seen the circus come through town before.

Spitzered or Assanged
How do you get rid of a potential oppenent??

  1. Sarkozy, the fascist step son of CIA hyena Frank Weisner Jr., believes Strauss-Kahn is his biggest political obstacle in the French elections...
  2. Strauss-Kahn blurted out fighting words to the Anglo-Amerikan Bankster cabal and their fiat toilet paper known as the Bernank Buck: IMF SDR is a better idea...

Don't Fuck With Our Cartel
So the CIA operative "chamber maid," half Strauss-Kahn's age, offers to blow the gent...

Next thing you know:

  1. She cries rape a la Assange...
  2. If it comes out she accepted money... Strauss-Kahn has been Spitzered...
  3. If she was forced to orally copulate Strauss-Kahn... Then he is the same kind of creep Sarkozy is...

Win-Win-Win for the A(hole)-Team... Moral of the story: Never accept a blow job in a hotel...
