Genius or past his prime? I smell something .......
Straight shooter.
Art, Skip the appetizers, stick with bottled beer, and hang out near an exit in case of raid.
oven mitt
Probably just a witching hour anomaly. Volume was heavier today than recent up day trends.
LOL, "if China wants to send a message to the US it can just sit out one of the Treasury-bill auctions... or two"
EPIC!
Should be quoted in history books going forward 100 yrs.
Yes, very witty.
Yes, very witty.
art said..."the laws of aerodynamics say that a bumble bee can't fly.."
be free bumble bee!! fly away!!
dontcha luv the smell of bubbles in the morning?
Interesting that the 30 day yield is now 0.00% again and probably heading negative along with the 90 day hitting 0.06% also. Gee, I wonder if the money market explicit guarantee expiring on Friday is going to create another "interesting" end of week.....coinciding with Op-Ex; this won't be a dull Friday.
i know he is a "floor director" of ubs and all that but what weight his word really carries? Does UBS stay out of this rally? If UBS buys and he comes and blows smoke about various holidays it is just nonsense.
Art has almost 50 years experience, that's something money can't buy, and certainly something I would have a lot of respect for.
i concur.
very well said!
Cashin has consistently been a voice of reason and gets less and less airtime as a result.
i thought investing is ALL about money. Respect? what is that?
Something you need to learn.
This is past the point of analysis and past the point of protest. This is a feeding frenzy.
I beg to differ -- this has been a pretty steady climb. Feeding frenzy will be panic buying with +200-400 on DOW with some VIX and volume. Haven't seen any of that yet.
Fascinating...Phantom pain, so this would be phantom euphoria...interesting, a zombie market with phantom euphoria running around indiscriminately slaying teenage bears and devouring the dollar...
There's a movie script in there somewhere... now if we only had a hero and an ingenue...
edit: Can't forget the mad scientist Bull Shalome Shitzzle, this zombie market is his creation, and it will live again.....muhahahahaha
Still waiting to see if Marla can pull off an R0 night of
"The Zombie Dance Party Rocks On" sponsored by Chris Whalen.
(note: I have made no attempt to actually contact either)

It's like getting stock advice from grandpaw
The bumblebee doesn't violate the laws of physics - it's wings oscillate like a helicopter rather than calculating lift based on a fixed structure (like an airplane). The funny part is that bees wings flap 200 times a second and their nervous system fires 1/10 of that speed.
Uncle Artie seems genuinley flummoxed.
Maybe he nibbled on the tainted food and has indigestion.
Pete
I like Art. If CNBC has a straight shooter, it's Art.
Carry trade, f@kin' A it's a carry trade...since rates have been at zero and protected "bank holding companies" have rammed that cash into equities it's been beanstalk city.
If Art "CASHIN" had been a bank ceo, the press would've turned on him big style!
This market is making me ill.
...the market is like when it's not there but you can still feel it... phantom limb pain, yeah that's it.
Call the 75 pro-wall street Senators, and tell them you'll contribute money to their opponents in their next election unless they co-sponsor the bill to audit the Fed.
Art's wit, and Santelli's rants, are the only good thing about Squawk Box.
They are green shoots poking out of the cesspool of bullshit known as CNBC.
Every bubble needs a name.
I'd like to propose "Benny's Boil " .
Watch her grow, and the she'll pop.
I like the line about having to go by the fundamentals "...when you don't get tomorrow's newspaper a day early. " Art, you mean like The Squid?
I think Art took a shot at somebody there.
we caught that too Ned.
DOW / SP500 / FTSE weekly trend continues to show strength.
Daily chart still overbought.
The weekly trend will always have more influence than smaller time frames such as the daily chart.
But are copper and bonds giving us a warning ?

Love old-timers like Art. They can really see the big picture since they've seen it all. I'll take a little devil's water any day over tainted food.
