SIGTARP To Investigate Hacker's Bank Of America Fraud Allegations
Two days ago, as was extensively reported by Zero Hedge, an Anonymous operative leaked various emails by Bank of America employees indicating a wilful and malicious intent to lie to auditors, regulators and the government. Many of the less than informed in the media space were quick to condemn this act as a lot of hot air, without having the faintest clue about the legal implications of the alleged activity. Luckily, a special agent for SIGTARP was not as quick to dismiss the data simply because it did not contain an HD video of the bank's CEO participating in a snuff film. As Operation LeakS has just released, a special agent for SIGTARP, which after spending millions in taxpayer capital has still to put anyone in jail, will investigate these allegations. It certainly is a start, even if the same taxpayers who pay for the SIGTARP program also have to do the SIGTARP's work for them. Very much like the SEC.

Yeah, I live in the NY area allright. Please come by and put me away for ever.
ITS A TRAP!!!!!!!!! and a TARP.
SIG SAUER TRAP!
AGREE! absolutely a setup.
ROFLMAO.........this was my first thought as well.
"Gee, I see you have the capabilities to disrupt this good thing I have going where I get paid off by the bankers for looking the other way. Wanna grab a cup of coffee sometime?"
These are not the loans you are looking for.
ROFL
probably investigating some new place to move the 'evidence' to before others come snooping around. Someplace like a bigger shredder.
These guys hate it when their golf games get interrupted when some stupid clerk lets a public scandal get exposed.
Investigations serve to pacify the sheeple - they already are told what they can find - this is bullish - everything is bullish haven't you got the Fed memo
in reality, the taxpayers pay for national defense, social security, medicare and the interest on our debt.
the Fed is paying for the rest. which means, the fed will be paying millions to investigate one of the banks they are supporting.
you couldnt make this shit up.
In reality, Grace Commission Report (http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&hl=en&q=grace+commission+report+all+tax+goes+to+federal+reserve&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=4db05700009e71d0) all receipts on income tax goes to the Federal Reserve.
Reagan made this particular report up.
Nope, the Fed prints, but they are not "paying" as they are not spending their money but the money of everyone who holds dollars, via inflation. However, continuing this logic, the Fed owns debt, so if anything inflating lessens the real costs of the debt they hold, further enriching themselves.
Remember when there was an Attorney General in the U.S.?
He acts more like one of the Washington Generals than an Attorney General.
Big Banks = Globetrotters
SEC, Attorney General, et al = Washington Generals.
Their pay stubs come from the same company
Edmund Randolph?
tyler, hope you are getting some sleep. you are on a tear, or rip.
Its a tear cuz a rip is the mark up the guys from JT Marlin work for.
Just ask Lloyd.
This situation is getting very Lulzy.
Please don't tease me with "investigations". I can't take it any more. Do or don't do. But no more promises because they're worthless.
there will be an investigation, myabe a fine. no criminal charges. legal fees are the only real damage.
The SEC has been investigating why there is not more tranny porn on the internet.
At least the old regime took their enforcement responsibilities seriously.
Martha Stewart did hard time.
[/sarc]
Ah the memories when bad ass people did bad ass time. What's that old saying? Don't do the crime if you can't serve the time? No longer folks. The chump is left behind if s/he don't do the crime.
She should have bought a bank and saved herself the jail time
Shoot, "investigating" is one of the easiest ways to fill a government work day. No output required.
Investigator: "Well i have completed my investigation. I attempted to track the money trail, followed up on any and all leads, and compiled a large amount of data. All of which, took me several months and cost millions in taxpayer dollars and led me to arrive at the following conclusion: Inconclusive."
SIGTARP is the little dog and BOA is the pony...

"Very much like the SEC." You forgot the CFTC. Oops. Sorry, I forgot they don't investigate.

I am a special agent. It is impossible to spoof a email. Impossible.
Hey, you're ruining the magic!

I wonder if the PPT will manage to pump the S&P all the way to green today despite the world news. If that doesn't signal how phony these markets really are, I don't know what would.
don't think they can make it, even with their magical powers. i waited for one stock to come up -- close the gap -- and now its cratering.....
SRZ if you're interested. party is ending.
Thanks for the tip.
It will be interesting to watch the posturing of the Fed re. more QE. There are a lot of unstable areas in the world, and more QE (and upward pressure on commodities) are not what the world needs right now. Maybe the Fed will let the markets fall and start another round of QE when public sentiment is more amenable to it.
I want to see perp walks...
We have had a 2 1/2 year investigation in the Silver manipulation game and as of today, not a peep....
hey!!!! don't blame them, they have been waiting for that case of white-out for 2 years and 4 months now. Can't run the government without whiteout.
I'm sure the special agent is a newly deputized special agent who wouldn't be able to tell their cds from their asshole-- not much any regulator can nor would want to as they are incented not to understand the inner workings of the scam that is our financial system lest they risk losing their jobs afterall the banking masters would not like it.
DP
The "investigators" have been given the info on a silver platter.
I'll make it easier. Walk into BOA and pull the backup tapes. They have to keep them by law.
Then get a few good database critters to recreate the databases and do a comparison. It's then really easy to figure out the differences and expose the fraud that wasn't captured in the emails. I'll assume that what's in the emails is the tip of the iceberg as nothing in the emails indicates the whistleblower was anything but a low level employee.
Then go back to BOA and round up mid level flunkies and get them to roll over on their bosses and so on.
I want to see perp walks, rope and lamposts.
Can you imagine if you worked at the SEC or CFTC they might actually have to do some work and catch someone.
I can't believe that anyone would blatantly ask someone as nervous as this guy whether he's in New York if they weren't honestly interested in pursuing the matter.
Then again those Bill Dudley types aren't all that bright now are they.
Let's just pray this goes somewhere...other than the east river.

Paulson's Spawn...Geithner

Or as we like to call it," A miniscule return of taxpayer funds stolen by the banks in return for legal immunity"
Oh, sweet lord, tell me this is true, Tyler. Say it, tell me that members of the Blight on America bank are going to have to face up to their crimes.
He will be forced to resign without fanfare or public notice just like Barofsky. Obama is the person in charge of the cover up (and all for only $1.6 Bn in campaign contributions. I didn't realize the welfare of the entire American people could be purchased so cheaply but i digress) and as long as he is in there the major bankers are above the law. Nothing will come of it.
It's not the $1.6 billion itself, or even the privilege of being President for awhile. Obama may be disgraced when this is all over, so what is national disgrace worth? Not a bunch of money, not for someone like Obama, who could have worked the political system for untold millions without any direct help in leaping 12 stations into the White House.
Look at Clinton, disgraced and nearly impeached President, butt of worldwide jokes when he left office. Yet he spends his time being treated like a god as he is flown around in private jets to Davos, Aspen, etc. to give speeches and support his pet causes. Obama has 30 years of this treatment to look forward to, transitioning from mere "holder of power" to "power broker".
Even Bush will be treated with the same obscene deference for the sacrifice he made of his own public image to get the wars started and push TARP etc through. Give it a few years. Just like with Clinton, a few years will pass and there will be a media blitz intent on repairing Bush's image, and people won't blink an eye when he is the guest of honor at world economic fora and summits on, heh, human rights, energy policy, and probably even world peace.
There are too many people still alive - both here and internationally - who know the truth about the criminal Bush family, so I don't think we'll see GDub come out of hiding for a while. I do, however, think Jeb will be brought out to try and continue the criminal family enterprise of stealing from America, but I hope the citizenry won't be fooled into thinking he is "different".
Other than that, I find nothing to disagree with in your post.
the only investigation will be into the guy who spilled the beans. don't tell them where you are
My very own Bank of America story. Gawd I hate these pricks.

Awesome! Good hunting.
Are you sure about this? Are you saying that none of the people listed as being in jail on SIGTARP's site are actually in jail and that SIGTARP actually isn't participating in prosecutions, even though they list several?

Best way to see perp walks is go to Blockbuster and peruse old movies.
This whole thing is quite the dud, rather than the bank-shattering experience many had hoped. With SIGTARP, you are guaranteeing this goes to obscurity quickly. Think of the ending of - was it the first Raiders movie - as this box full of files is taken to a remote corner of the government warehouse. Benign neglect, a report ages from now, utter indifference, the saga ends. all too familiar methodology
