Silver Passes $30

Tyler Durden's picture

$30 is now history, as spot touches $30.03. Thirty year history in the making and this time no Hunt Brothers were harmed in the making of this price surge.

Same as gold getting smacked down at the same time. They are both getting hit. Bet it won't last long though.

Yup it's disgusting.  I'm viewing today as the 'push through' day.  Now that $30's been taken out I doubt it will be long before the 'managers' are forced to let Silver glide towards $35 in the near future.  If Chilton can get the rest of the CFTC on board this week, $35 might come very soon.

Does anyone have a prediction as to when the ETFs will stop following the physical price?  I have a couple of levered ones and am trying to gauge the right moment to switch everything over to physical.

I know it's not the smartest play but any helpful input would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Here comes the FED approved and funded short selling attack on silver.  For good measure, the propaganda push on this trade is being juiced by the absolute perma bull whores of CNBC.

Good luck out there...

Have a small farm for 10 + + + years.

MANY many pluses.

Issues:

...county raises property values....taxes eat you up.

...small town politics suck

...small town schools run by insiders...taxes eat you up

...mentality on the lower end

...make sure you do a soil analysis AND check out the flood plain

...greenhouses +++ high tunnels also extend the season. For basic rudimentary growing read Eliot Coleman Four Season Harvest.

Don't forget the power sources.  PV, Microhydro if possible.  Now that you have what you have,  Work on reducing your energy footprint.

Good on you again.

Empire of Fraud no. 7 (Eleven billion reasons to buy gold now)

excerpt:

"These days, calls for $5000 or $10,000 dollar gold are becoming almost commonplace and certainly respectable."

"...people who hold gold and silver will not part with it for anything other than real productive capacity and/or real products..."

"Mining shares will serve as a surrogate for gold and silver after the crisis, but only to the extent that:

1) Mining companies are not nationalized
2) Capital controls do not restrict share holder's ability to trade and own these companies

Therefore, you simply can not afford to wait.  Acquire gold and silver now."

I think keeping a little cash in hand right now is not a bad idea.

The manipulators will not go quietly into the night. Remember, they suppressed it from 1980 dollars ($40) into the doldrums for 30 years, when fraud and printing was nowhere near the levels seen today, at least not overtly.

And as in any end-game scenario, expect wild moves, huge volatility, uncertainity. The dips are all opportunities from here on out.

Imagine a bunch of overweight bankers in striped trunks, trying to keep down a 40 foot beach ball, freshly filled with helium.

Just back from the coin guy, did my part to kick the JPMorgue in the balls. Several newbies in the shop getting their cherries popped, heavy moaning and squeals of delight. Some folks were in selling granma's stering candy dishs and serving plates, lots of $$$ changing hands, those folks were getting a fair price from a fair dealer, everybody smiling. I wished the coin guy a happy thirty dollar day...he rolled his eyes, busy times for him.

Retesting $30 now.  Gold also retesting resistence.  Platinum is being manipulated, as it is the only PM without a large movement behind it.
