I've recently noticed an up-tic in articles mentioning silver's use as a currency.
Silver is an inflationist's metal - It has no place in a sound currency system.
Don't believe the lies about silver or mixed metal systems when the time comes for the dollar to go the way of the dodo.

Well, luckily for us, there are no sound currency systems, but merely differing mediums of exchange and stores of value.

Question for the masses ... I have two 401K plans. I have one at at work that has limited investing options. Can't do much about that one. I also have a 401K through etrade that I manage myself. I currently have it all invested in GLD and SLV. It's done quite well. However I'm always reading about how I should own PHYSICAL gold and silver. The only way I know of getting physical metal is to take a hardship on my personally managed 401K, withdraw all of the money, pay the penalty and THEN buy the metals. Any thoughts or suggestions as to whether or not this is sensible?
I agree with Johnny Bravo and Mako. You can have your gold. Does it automatically guarantee your future will be secure? If I had gold maybe I would be happy that I had some real money but the destruction of the present system is going to hurt many people. Maybe the Fed will be ended and Congress will issue a new zero interest currency when the SHTF.
