The Squid Resumes "Shank and Crank" Operations, Meanwhile World Breathlessly Awaits Apple
Now that the Prop Desk traders at GS are on edge, they are starting to bully their clients again with time tested "Shank and Crank" operations to shake everyone out of various stocks. No doubt, attempting to get the money train going again before they are litigated out of business.
Note the big clothesline drops and subsequent reversals, most commonly found among various financials and oil service names.
Why play the Hi-Fi "50 cent" trading range game when you can blow your largest clients out of long positions and then initiate a scalded dog run with some upgrades?
And it looks like they did the opposite with United Health today, gapped it up on earnings and then slammed it the rest of the day:
All in a days work for the criminals.
But the real news after the bell will come from the fabled Apple. Where the fate of modern civilization rests in whether or not they "beat by a penny" or not, and how the stock reacts afterwards.
With about a 16% weighting in the NDX, a big drop in this stock could unleash a convulsion of epic proportions....

So, the regulations don't require full disclosure? I thought they did. Perhaps there are some gray areas. But creating trash, hawking it as non-trash, and then betting against it knowing its trash is, if not illegal, then unethical. If this is allowed by the regulations, then they need change to bring ethics to the table in the "financial" business.

This is the perfect opportunity for GS to go mostly private again, foisting all of the shitty assets onto the balance sheet of the remaining public (pubic) entity. This has the benefit of getting the public eye out of the bankster bonus business and trumps any attempt from the goobermint to break them up.
GS becomes the bad bank and goes down. Maybe JPM too. There's no other way to take out all the phony assets. The firm can come back under a new name - but Obama will never be able to sell "we've got to bail out these hedge funds" to the American taxpayer.
