Tyler Durden's picture

Stale quotes are impacting the validity of the DJIA per the NYSE. In as much as quotes are correct in realtime, the DOW reflects those properly.

If quotes are stale, by which I'm guessing it means they're from earlier in the day, and the market has been steadily declining, when they get up to date the index will fall more?

...Goldman just needed to wire their server in front of the NYSE server. Don't worry, they should have it fixed soon and the market will start going back up.

The closer the expected reconfirmation vote for Bernanke nears the worse Mr. Market looks.

Why do you suppose that is?  So it can give itself more room to bounce back once he's reconfirmed?

Dunno.  So far today this is the exact opposite of what I expected, which is probably why it's happening.  However, I thought about closing short positions this morning but something smelled a bit funny.

My thoughts exactly.  They drain it down, then confirm the cronies.  Then pop it back up there.

Theatre.

Who says he'll be reconfirmed?I think this may be a hint he's in trouble.

To me it feels like the big banks have hijacked the markets until it gets ALL of what it wants... so far it got more cheap money from the fed, now it's waiting for ben, and finally it won't let its hostage free until those pesky new bank regulations get scrapped.

Or am i just being paranoid???

Scotty:  "Engineering. No casualties, captain, but trouble aplenty with the exchange. Every dilithium crystal connection smashed in the PPT circuitry. We're trying to bypass them now."

Try using Nancy Pelosi's head as the dylithium matrix, and get Harry Reid to do the alignment of the crystals.

Is anyone else getting choppy textron quotes today? I'm short and holding until at least 19 to buy back but it seems to be freezing up a bit every so often.

Is anyone else getting chopped textron quotes? I'm short and it seems to be chopping up around 19.50 and 19.25 consistently. Goldman glitch? I was thinking of buying back under 19 maybe sooner with this going on.
