Stale quotes are impacting the validity of the DJIA per the NYSE. In as much as quotes are correct in realtime, the DOW reflects those properly.

If quotes are stale, by which I'm guessing it means they're from earlier in the day, and the market has been steadily declining, when they get up to date the index will fall more?

Dunno.  So far today this is the exact opposite of what I expected, which is probably why it's happening.  However, I thought about closing short positions this morning but something smelled a bit funny.

To me it feels like the big banks have hijacked the markets until it gets ALL of what it wants... so far it got more cheap money from the fed, now it's waiting for ben, and finally it won't let its hostage free until those pesky new bank regulations get scrapped.

 

Or am i just being paranoid???
