Standard & Poors Cuts U.S. Outlook to Negative BECAUSE BOTH PARTIES KEEP THROWING MONEY AT ENDLESS WARS, ENDLESS BAILOUTS AND A PONZI FINANCIAL SYSTEM

George Washington's picture

As I've been warning for years, America's irresponsible financial policy will lead to a credit downgrade.

Today, S&P cut its U.S. outlook to negative, warning of a 1 in 3 chance of a credit downgrade in the next couple of years.

As the Wall Street Journal notes:

Standard
& Poor's Ratings Services Inc. cut its outlook on the U.S. to
negative, increasing the likelihood of a potential downgrade from its
triple-A rating, as the path from large budget deficits and rising
government debt remains unclear.

"More than two years after the
beginning of the recent crisis, U.S. policy makers have still not
agreed on how to reverse recent fiscal deterioration or address
longer-term fiscal pressures," S&P credit analyst Nikola G. Swann
said. He said the rating agency puts the chance of a U.S. downgrade
within two years at least one-in-three.

***

S&P said
Monday it sees material risk that policymakers might not agree on how
to address budgetary challenges by 2013, which would render the U.S.
fiscal profile weaker than that of other triple-A-rated countries.

***

S&P
said that if an agreement isn't reached and meaningful implementation
is not begun by 2013, it would make the U.S. fiscal profile
meaningfully weaker than that of other triple-A-rated sovereigns.

While
the Democratic and Republican leadership point fingers at the other
side, and bicker about ideological pet peeves, this is not a question of
left-versus-right.

The war between liberals and conservatives is a false
divide-and-conquer dog-and-pony show created by the powers that be to
keep the American people divided and distracted. See this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this and this.

The real problem is that both Democrats and Republicans want to fund endless
wars, give endless bailouts to the too big to fail banks and
corporations, and perpetuate the expensive Ponzi scheme of printing
money out of thin air
.

Imperial wars reduce our national security. Indeed, our top military and intelligence officials say that debt is the main threat to our national security, and have said that the Pentagon must cut spending. See this and this.

Moreover, endless bailouts harm the economy. Ponzi finance costs trillions of dollars (and leads to a decrease in loans to Main Street). And see this and this.

To
the extent that both the Republican and Democratic parties slavishly
follow these meta-policies - which supersede the stated "conservative"
and "liberal" goals - they will ensure that we lose our AAA credit, and
they will destroy our economy.

Barton Biggs was just asked, on Bloomberg TV, why he thinks the S&P are wrong to issue US rating warning:

"Because the US is a great country..."

WTF?!

George, the liberal v conservative divide is not the whole story, but it is a significant portion of it.

Liberals, on the one hand, are uniformly dedicated to the welfare of the most unfortunate among us--regardless of their own economic self-interests--while many conservatives use their own economic self-interests as their moral touchstone.   It is at that level a very real distinction wrt the appropriate role of government.

Just the same,  it is remarkable how often principled liberals and conservatives can passionately agree on other things, though.

Unfortunately, we're at a point where "obligation to one's fellow man" seems to be the operative factor.  It seems to account for as much as 70% of the variance.  IMHO.

That's only because the bankster mouthpieces in Congress and The Corporate Media define and control the debate, of course.  But it is how it is.

"regardless of their own economic self-interests"

sorry Bob, every lib I know exists in a bubble where taxes and sacrifices are for those "other" people.

the biggest problem with conservative politicians is that most are just RHINOs who talk the talk, but spend like their Dem brothers, only their handouts go to a different clientele.

You must know only liberals who make less than $15k per year then!  I can understand your impression, since liberals can't seem to do more than basic math and they sorely ignore substantive economic variables whenever they move their mouths, but does that mean liberals who make over $15k don't pay--themselves

I think the tax code is neutral in that respect.  We all pay the same.  Sorry they're glad to see you losing money today, but they're kissing their own money goodbye just the same as you are if you make over $15k.

Now "time to die, Greece!"  Right according to plan!  Finally!  For all their imperial wars over the years!

All according to plan...

Engage the US military in a 3 front war spreading them thinly about the globe outside of CONUS. Move foreign troops into vacant US military bases under the "UN flag".

Outsource most manufacturing, lay off millions of Americans. Make them dependent on government (corporation) for food stamps, etc.

Crash economy, buy up hard assets, including public assets.

Engage in "geo-engineering" to starve and sicken populace.

Welcome to the Fourth Reich!

Seig Heil!

And, don't forget, flood the USA and other Western countries with tens of MILLIONS of hostile, inassimilable third world immigrants, who are replacing the indigenous white inhabitants.

Question:

Why is Race-Replacement only being imposed on white countries?

Mon, 04/18/2011 - 16:37 | 1181721 BigJim
BigJim's picture

Well, us whiteys did quite a lot of thrid world race replacement in the 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries.

In the 20th, we did it in Palestine, and I guess after that we decided it wasn't worth the trouble.

Beard of Zeus asks -

Why is Race-Replacement only being imposed on white countries?

Because the "people" who are doing this to us want the white man gone by the year 2050. The only thing stoping them from this goal in the U.S. is the fact that we have approximately 250 million firearms in private hands.

They know "Whitey" is going to be a problem what with that pesky thing called the CONSTITUTION!

These "people" are Satinists and 85% of Americans claim to be Christians.

So "whitey" must go.

GW, you are an idiot.  You parrot the Democrat narrative like the brainless parakeet that you are.  How many more trillions would Obama's deficits have to be before you would admit that the problem was the Democrats?    Just as I thought, you would never do that.

GW may not admit it but voters last November knew who the problem was.

They're going to tell them again in 2012.
