Strategy And Tactics In The Iran-Israel Theater - How It Would Happen: A 114 Page Close Look

Tyler Durden's picture

With Geoffrey Batt

In light of the the Herald of Scotland's discovery that massive US-originated armaments are headed for the middle east, it is relevant to evaluate the likely scenario of conflict that could and likely will transpire if the Israel-Iran situation were to escalate. For that we confer to an extended analysis prepared one year ago to the dot by the Center For Strategic and International Studies titled "Study on a Possible Israeli Strike on Iran’s Nuclear Development Facilities." While the entire presentation is fascinating, we bring your attention to slide 37, which classifies the specific required payloads for assorted tactical strikes focusing on Iranian nuclear infrastructure. And as the presentation concludes, an Iranian strike by Israel would be practically impossible without direct US involvement. Speaking of which, has anyone seen Robert Gates and Michael Mullen recently?

Sure!

Get in front of a mirror.  Now turn around (have your ass facing the mirror) and drop trou, including your skivvies (don't mind the streaks).  Bend over as far as you can, until you can see the mirror between your legs.  Ok, now see that most disgusting brown thing between your ass cheeks?  That's where you put the money.

Cui bono?

"However, Timothy S. Healy, president of Georgetown University, examined its affiliate and decided that CSIS was academically somewhat less credible than it claimed to be. Apparently, CSIS has no library, its faculty are seen more often on television than in the classroom (over 4,000 appearances in 1985), and its publications have a reputation (by academic standards) of being superficial. (2) CSIS has been called "a parking lot for former government big shots," and a "conservative propaganda machine," particularly for the policies of the Reagan administration. (2) Most CSIS senior fellows do not teach classes, but do draw handsome salaries (up to $70,000). (2)"

All I want in this earth is peace. I am not asking for anything but only to have peace because if one country has its peace then everything will follow. I do not think the Guardians of the Free Republics are going to achieve much, and also the right wing is getting too strange for their own good. Sending letters warning governors to resign or else, despite the fact that they don't advocate violence (they propose legislative solutions) after the business at Eric Cantor's office means many of these guys in the Restore America (part of the <a title="FBI on the edge: Guardians of the Free Republics" href="http://personalmoneystore.com/moneyblog/2010/04/02/guardians-of-the-free...">Sovereign Citizen</a> movement) thing may need payday cash advances for lawyers eventually. This idiocy was the subject of my "holiday" post on my blog last December... Since the reaction will be an instant 40% decrease on global oil availability, Iran is a "nuclear power" already and has been, by virtue of geography alone, since oil was exported from Saudi Arabia. The contango trade will certainly rake in a fortune, as all of those Goldman / Citi 'yachts' full of oil quadruple in net value, but the global economy will not withstand the shock for more than a few weeks.

Insightful...and it will not last more than a few weeks...remember Gulf War 1, it will last just enough to offload the contango at enormous profit.

And they will NOT go with a ground phase, they will just arm the opposition after having bombed Iran back to the stone age.

I wrote about this last June and used the same report as a basis. Here is what I said then:

http://brucekrasting.blogspot.com/2009/06/politics-of-gold.html

The thrust of this was timing. When might it happen? So look at the info re the Chinese supplying the Iranians with a missle defence system. 9 months ago the timing was a year or so. So that brings it pretty close to today.

I got an odd off the grid response on this. The thrust was that Israel could not execute this plan today. The would have to fly too far. They would not be able to cross the airspace of Turkey (or Jordan/Syria). I thought the guy who sent it to me sounded like he knew what he was talking about. I guessed he was spook who liked to blog.....

Israel only gets one bite at the apple. Don't know that that would be enough unless they had 100% intelligence , reached all their targets and hit them. Operating at such long range that is a tall order even for the Israeli AF.

My previous, more salty comment was deleted by ZH. So I'll be polite.

This Administration is not going to attack anyone. It is completely antithetical to their world view. The other story relating to the shipment of 400 bombs to Diego Garcia doesn't mean anything, given the thousands of bombs and hundreds of strategic assets that would need to be prepositioned to pull something like this off.

And there were would be months if not years of back and forth at the UN vis a vis sanctions. I rate the chance at 0% that we wake up one day to find that the US has launched a unilateral strike on Iran's nuclear infrastructure.

Going to delete this post too?

Is The US Preparing For "The Total Destruction Of Iran?" The quick answer?! "YES! SIR!”

In Iraq we lacked a paper trail for WMD's that would not have our (our being the U.S.A.'s) finger prints all over the documents...

The Russian's as the second largest producer of oil would be happy to see the Middle East get irradiated, broadly speaking... and thusly... would happily provide the paper trail for the equipment that they the Russian's did provide and how it was easily modified by Iran (who is now out of warranty because of the modifications).  http://www.eia.doe.gov/cabs/Russia/Background.html

Russia-Iran nuclear deal signed  ***(Sunday, 27 February, 2005, 12:56 GMT)***

Russia and Iran have signed an agreement for Moscow to supply fuel to Iran's new nuclear reactor in Bushehr.

Under the deal Iran has to return spent nuclear fuel rods from the reactor, which was designed and built by Russia.

So, since we learned our lesson last time… and we will need to have good proof… due to the cycle of time between the invasions… we don’t have time to wait for a generation to forget and die off… thusly, paper trail or “Proof” not an issue…

Yes, Iran is going to have a change of leadership… will it be us (us being the U.S.A. proper) or will it be Israel? Israel can bomb the leadership and Mullah’s in short order… cruise missiles are accurate to 10 feet.. (more like 30 feet, but close enough) and in this massive one blow, decapitate the snakes many heads along with the most staunch supporters of what is the Iranian’s craziness… We should have stepped in during the election… but one crazy for another and all that… plus Israel is tired of being beaten on… they need a win, to keep up moral at home.

Flag it garbage again all of you Bush luvrs... and thanks for the Lobby!

Anyone who says this is not happening… is lying to themselves. The best part is the eagle and the bear in the holy valley, ala George Bush the evangelical… he really might have been the anti Christ. Because there is no walking this back.

Russia will give up Iran, if the price is right, and the price is Europe, or the missiles the US placed on Nato soil, ostensibly to protect Europe from an Iranian attack, but which are aimed at Moscow. (It comes full circle here) We attack Iran, and then withdraw the missiles from the newly minted Nato countries, in exchange for Russia's support in stabbing Iran in the back. Obama makes a speech about a new detente, nuclear weapons reduction with the Soviets, and the Iranian nuclear threat is neutralized. It is the same seductive game theory bozo thinking that Bush loved so much, the idea that you can set off a chain of win-win-win events. Iraq was going to be a political win for the Bush Presidency - get rid of the dictator - win - open their oil to the world markets, and bring down gas prices - win - restore America's glory, lost in Vietnam - win - prevent another rogue nuclear nation from joining the club - win - the hits just kept coming, Bush couldn't keep his hands out of it.

The price of all this is Europe, and Russian control of the region through an energy monopoly. Destroying Irans nuclear facilities will actually take oil off the market, oil Iran will need for domestic purposes. Russia will let out a rebel yell when that happens. Remember Bush threw Europe under the bus during the war on terror, as he loudly bragged that we stopped terrorism, that is except in London and Madrid.

What does Obama want? Pax Americanus? Obviously. Does he have some racial animus toward Whites, particularily those old colonial empires? Bush was the anti-christ, yes, he projected his sins on the rest of the world. Is Obama really any different?

Germany's Call for Removal of US Missiles in Europe Reopens Debate

http://www1.voanews.com/english/news/europe/Europes-Nuclear-Deterrent-Debated-83904482.html

Plus! 14.06.2004

http://www.cap-lmu.de/fgz/reviews/31.php

The facts: Germany's unemployment rate is at 4,5 million, when adding the quiet reserve it is more like 5 to 6 million. Trend: consistent. Black market labor has reached, with approximately 17 % of the GDP, its highest level since the Federal Republic's coming into existence. Trend: increasing. The employer's costs on a high level. Trend: persistent. Fewer German company's go public. Trend: reaching zero. In 2002, the number of insolvencies rose 10%, not only because of new insolvency policies. Trend: restrained.

Something not so, so dated then? 06-06-05

http://www.moneyandmarkets.com/euro-chaos-8650

In Germany, for instance, a recent poll showed that 56% of the population hates the euro. They want to dump it and restore their beloved German mark.

No wonder! The German economy — like France’s — is mired in one of its worst recessions since World War II. Unemployment is running at 12%. Tax receipts are plunging. GDP growth is a paltry 1%, despite massive efforts to get it going.

How about this one?

The Germans posturing for their Gold back out of our repositories in New York video is or has been removed? I watched the Video last year… in which the cameras had to be turned off inside oval office for the emergency of the Germans wanting their gold back… this was a full access day when the problem accidently was presented… http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30892505/#31073805

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2265231/posts this summation of the event is wonderful.

The German’s… being the German’s… and going protectionist have been pre-cursory events to… The German’s being the German’s… Russia?

Russia seems to get along with whoever does not like us… have you noticed that? I would like you to review this picture and tell me if you see any animosity or worry?  http://allworldcars.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/bush-2dand-2dputin-2din-2dcar-2dgaz-2d21-2d2.jpg

So the Mid-East… has an Nuke problem as provided by Russia the World’s second largest oil producer… and America as the second largest importer I doubt they want any trade problems with us (us being the U.S. proper)… and it would seem that Russia’s friendliness with another Oil rich country at odds with the U.S. would be consistent with their (their being Russia) past behavior… to what end? World domination? Or so they can jack up the price of oil or be the number one supplier because they allowed the idiots to be what they truly are? Idiots.

I am not trying to say that the German’s are really to be watched… and that Iran is screwed… the leadership in the Bunkers is screwed… for the record the Iranian people that I saw running around with Ted Coppel look fine by me… downright friendly even… educated and not wearing Burka’s. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2642456727429311901#

Maybe we should have stepped up and helped Iran during the elections? I think so.

To answer your last question… no Obama is a Lobby puppet… don’t get me wrong Obama is a politician thusly owes and must pay his Pipers…  But Obama has forwarded Bush Policies in how many different instances? Almost All!? And taken Bush’s “Right Wing Policies” and pushed them even further than Bush. That’s a fact.
