Summary Of All Closed Japanese Plants And Factories

Tyler Durden's picture

According to Bloomberg, as of this moment there are 31 companies that have experienced temporary or permanent plant shut downs in earthquake-stricken Japan, resulting in the closure of 150 different facilities. How Goldman can say there will be no GDP impact to Japan with a straight face is beyond our meager comprehension.

Well, strictly speaking, you didn't see Goldman's employees faces when they were drafting the report saying this, most likely they were laughing their asses off.

Sadly, this information stutter is fractally equivalent to the damage and casualty numbers. Needlessly understated and then suddenly, wham.

Why bother? Let thing settle. Let people find their bearings, mourn their losses, try to get their life back together.

Which man-machine or machine is going to be dumb enough to make any decisions regarding anything with this kind of information anyways. The power supply question, industry life-blood in Japan is such a huge dark cloud anyways.

Cart before horse is a foll's exercise.

Yokohama tire company was started in Japan in 1917. Its headquarters are located in Tokyo, Japan and was started because of a partnership between the American tire company BF Goodrich and Yokohama Cable Manufacturing.

  • Where are Yokohama tires made / manufactured?

Most of the Yokohama tires are manufactured in Japan at their many factories.

3rd largest tire manufacturer appears not to be affiliated with Bridgestone, which is on the list above and shares a plant location with the namesake.
