Thank You Circuitbreakers
Just because this is what a fully normal market should look like. Imagine what would happen if 7% of the population, according to Zero Hedge's somewhat non-scientific poll, actually did not have faith in capital markets.

Funny to watch folks.
You are in the middle of history. Sit back and enjoy the fireworks.
Buy pop corn and put options!
I keep a bag of microwave popcorn in my desk drawer. It's just a matter of time before I nuke that sucker.
IMA go right now and buy a bottle of some kind of good scotch (yet to be determined), and treat myself to some when Lloyd gets gibbetted, or at least arrested. I'm a patient man, but I do intend to see if I can't help this along a little bit.

Things that end badly...
Am I right to interp this situation as, the greater the volume, the greater the chance of a crash? Is that about right? So be very careful what you wish for if you're hoping for a rally?
or is it correlated with changes in volume?
Total volume, changes in volume, or just going from low to high?
Making new highs or large moves to the upside on low colume are signs of an exhausted rally. High volume with fat tails to the downside (morning selloffs that rally sharply in the afternoon to finish at or near the highs or the same thing over the course of a week or a few days) could be signs of a temporary bottom. High volume and volume on a down day eclipsing the previous day's and/or large increases in volume with moves to the downside are signs of of a continuing trend to the downside.
My theory is that we are watching the takedown of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. The swings just get wilder until something inevitably cracks and then the failure just rolls out from that point. My only question is where are we in that process right now?
You must have been watching modern marvels last night....that is a great analogy though. Anybody holding equities is the equivalent of the cars abandoned on the bridge deck.
hmmm looks like es 1125 is next
