Tyler would never turn to the dark side, right Tyler? Tyler? TYLER?
Um, does anybody know where Tyler is? :>)
Say it ain't so Tyler, say it ain't so!
Tyler isn't here
Tyler gone away
Tyler gone
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! Tyler, you kill me, man! HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTinany!
This is a real idea that is floating around right now. I don't have a link but I read an article by an ETF person saying that this is the next big thing, ETFs that track single stocks. It makes absolutely no sense to me. Why would I buy GE ETF instead of GE?
edit:
http://www.thedailycrux.com/content/6566/ETFs
from the ETF provider perspective...
“Think about the prospect of, say, a GE tracking ETF — an investor could capture over 99% of the movement of GE while simultaneously forfeiting any claim to a dividend and paying us up to35 basis points to manage the ETF. What’s not to like? We think this product paves the way for the ETF marketplace to collect its next trillion in assets.”
They were all good. I think I like the single-stock ETF tracking fund. Oddly enough, they already did this back in the early naughts.
Quoting one commenter from your link:
"I’d modestly propose that the new single stock ETFs be diiferentiated from their predecessors, perhaps with a slightly different acronym. How about the WTF?"
Hilarious!
"9. FastFiberInc launches a new dark fiber route that exceeds the speed of light by 16 mph."
I'll take two!
I need a Gulfstream connection twice the speed of light... (faster than Jersey) from the Bahama's! Tyler can then trade his triple quad inverse GS ETF's faster than JP can react!
That speed should equate to prophecies. Gauranteed no losers. GS probably already has this technology.... :)
If you use the fiber to connect your trading computer to itself can you frontrun the market?
no...
1. The fiber in new jersey is closer than in the bahamas
2. if you are the house, meaning Goldie Fucks or the Morgue (for brand names you will know, but niether is the largest in the world and not even close... heres a hint a trust held by JP owns the largest digital provider of trading in the world) back to the point, the house can lag you in or out of the money.. front running on pause.
Let us add "exchange traded hope".
very funny...
love 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10
Man I want triple leveraged single stock ETFs.
what is $0.04 on the dollar? leverage? that you borrow @ 0% with tax benefits which net out to you?
sub what leverage?
That would be sweet.
Finally! a triple X AAPL Bull ETF!
That sounds like hardcore porn.
I'll say it again - I love Fridays on ZH
single stock ETF's?
Isn't that sorta like buying a "gift card", paying sales tax, getting an expiration date on your money and a guaranteed left-over balance that you just forget about and the retailer or bank just pockets???? I can't believe how many people fall for those ...
I hate those expiration dates.
OT (again): Was half listening to the radio while doing other things and there was a little news item about the number of US retail chains expanding into Canada. I knew that Target had announced their intentions but apparently there are a few more:

I'm a little surprised just given that the Canadian retail market is so much smaller than U.S - any analysis or links on this topic are welcome.
I have only seen Saluzzi on TV, but obviously Arnuk is more fun at parties...
2011 ...
The uptrend since March 2009 was a bear market rally contained within a much larger downtrend that started in 2000.
According to my indicators the March 2009 lows will not hold.

I LUV IT Tyler! Mucho shits and grins!
Some thoughts: we already have a double leveraged AAPL ETF....it is called QLD!!
# 11) JPM launches new ETF called GWSLV (Guess What we told the CFTF to do next with Silver)....CNBC remarks that the volatility is curiosly low....
#12) DarkMatter Inc. launches new anti-matter network whereby bids are simultaneously created and destroyed.....space alien emissary lands on earth and says "STOP THIS RIGHT NOW YOU FUCKING MORONS!"
Thanks again and Cheers!
