Timber! Right Shoulder Dislocated, 865 Next?

Tyler Durden's picture

And it's not like Congress even fell for Kanjorski's fin-terrorism with the whole "market would drop 2000 if fin reg not passed." There still is some time to bribe what little borderline conscientious senators and congressment exist.

Gold Leader panics.

GOLD LEADER: (into mike) I can't maneuver!

INTERIOR: GOLD FIVE'S Y-WING -- COCKPIT.

Gold Five, the old veteran, trys to calm Gold Leader.

GOLD FIVE: Stay on target.

INTERIOR: GOLD LEADER'S Y-WING -- COCKPIT.

The Death Star races by outside the cockpit window as he
adjusts his targeting device.

GOLD LEADER: We're too close.

INTERIOR: GOLD FIVE'S Y-WING -- COCKPIT.

The older pilot remains calm.

GOLD FIVE: Stay on target!

INTERIOR: GOLD LEADER'S Y-WING -- COCKPIT.

Now he's really panicked.

GOLD LEADER: Loosen up!

INTERIOR: DARTH VADER'S COCKPIT.

Vader calmly adjusts his targeting computer and pushes the
fire button.

INTERIOR: GOLD LEADER'S Y-WING -- COCKPIT.

Gold Leader's ship is hit by Vader's laser.

EXTERIOR: SURFACE OF THE DEATH STAR.

Gold Leader explodes in a ball of flames, throwing debris in
all directions.

INTERIOR: GOLD FIVE'S Y-WING -- COCKPIT.

Gold Five moves in on the exhaust port.

GOLD FIVE: Gold Five to Red Leader...

INTERIOR: LUKE'S X-WING FIGHTER -- COCKPIT.

Luke looks over his shoulder at the action outside of his
cockpit.

GOLD FIVE: (over headset) Lost Tiree, lost Dutch.

INTERIOR: RED LEADER'S COCKPIT.

RED LEADER: I copy, Gold Five.

INTERIOR: GOLD FIVE'S Y-WING -- COCKPIT.

GOLD FIVE: They came from behind....

EXTERIOR: SURFACE OF THE DEATH STAR.

One of the engines explodes on Gold Five's Y-wing fighter,
blazing out of control. He dives past the horizon toward the
Death Star's surface, passing a TIE fighter during his
descent. Gold Five, a veteran of countless campaigns, spins
toward his death.

S&P won't get to 865 before they pass QE 2.0 in a hurry.  Be assured that the bill(s) are already written, and awaiting with pens attached for WHEN not if they will be signed in an overnight session.  I still see late summer / early fall as the time period where we'll see QE 2.0 or another quazi-international bailout.  BP and others will require the brunt of the free money I'm sure for their allustrious contributions.

I agree that the bill is mostly written. Whether it takes a plunge to 865 to loosen the pens is another matter. Either way, the Congress critters need an excuse to sign, thus this engineered crash.

Uh... sorry to spoil the party... but QE 2.0 doesn't need to be passed.  Or even written for that matter.

Uncle Ben just needs to give word on what $5 trillion he's going to monetize next, and all will be good.

Aren't you glad that our fine leaders in the Senate confirmed Uncle Ben's (campaigned) re-nomination???

Tue, 06/29/2010 - 18:18 | 442962 Cognitive Dissonance

Assetman,

Can you give me a little more than your assertion? Are you saying the Fed can spend $5 B bailing out banks, building roads, extending unemployment and so forth, the things that were in QE 1, without Congress?

Or are you talking about simple money pumps into banks and semi banks like GE, Fan and Fred? Because I agree money pumps can be done without Congress.

Tue, 06/29/2010 - 22:03 | 443316 Assetman
Assetman's picture

The easiest path to QE 2.0 is Fed intervention.  Ben Bernanke has a few years free and clear to do what BHO wants... with any political endorsement.  But yeah, the Fed can only do so much with the money-- but they CAN buy Treasuries, and I'm sure the executive branch can use that funding for emergency (executive order) purposes.  This Congress has already demurred their appopriations authority to the Fed for emergency measures... why not pass the buck to BHO, the one termer?

It's much more difficult path in getting Congressional signoff on $5 TRILLION in additional spending (that's proably what it will take to move the needle).  YEA votes on that is simply political suicide, and wouldn't be considered until AFTER the Nov elections.  Bennie and his helicopter jets can flood the markets tomorrow, if need be.

Caught them red-handed in the cookie jar and they were suave enough to escape w/o harm.  I held a grudge for years, knew they were dirty dogs, the opposite of their reputation.  When Enron went down in 2001 and took Arthur with them, I wasn't surprised a bit.

The first step to breaking away from this insanity is to stop identifying with it. It's not "our" Fed chief, not "our" wars, not "our" economic policy, not "our" banks and financial system, not "our" fiat currency. And so on.

We will never fight against something we consider "ours". Never ever. So stop making their policy "our" policy, their wars "our" wars. It is their mess, not our mess. Though there is no doubt "we" will have to clean up after "them".

Good for you, but I am a newbie finally relinquishing the idea of buy/hold and MPT.  I am still short SDS and hopefully will get out early tomorrow.  I guess if I made my "Alarmist" the 7-10 I might be listened to a bit more attentively.  Or not.

Unfortunately, we probably won't have many more articles from Leo K. He has a new job. He greeted me when I walked into Wal Mart today.

You know what is funny?  Timmy is going to try to do a 10yr TIPS auction next week on the July 8th.   Right smack dab in the middle of a deflationary cycle, you try to pawn off a TIPS auction on people?  ROFLMAO

I guess Benny is going to be buying all those, because no one with a brain would.
