Today's Economic Data Docket - Even More Fed Speeches
At this point it is certain: the Fed is determined to baffle them with bullshit.
9:05: Atlanta Fed President Dennis Lockhart on the US economic outlook. Q&A scheduled. Mr. Lockhart is not currently a voting member of the FOMC.
9:30: Chicago Fed President Charles Evans on “The Role of Government in Financial Literacy”. No discussion of current economic conditions or policy, and no Q&A. Mr. Evans will also appear on CNBC’s “Closing Bell” at 15:15 today, where he will discuss the economy and monetary policy. Mr. Evans is a voting member of the FOMC this year.
11:00: After a rare one day hiatus, POMO is back, as Fed monetizes $6.5-8.5 billion in 10/31/2016 – 03/31/2018
19:15: Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke on “Clearinghouses and Financial Stability”. Q&A scheduled. Given the topic of his speech, Chairman Bernanke may not comment directly on the economic outlook or policy issues.

Never a truer word spoken in jest, the Bernank will be carrying on the tradition from the great Alan Greenspan:
"Since becoming a central banker, I have learnt to mumble with great incoherence. If I seem unduly clear to you, you must have misunderstood what I said."
Alan 'Prove me wrong' Greenspan...

If you can't dazzle them with POMO, baffle them with BullShit!

Is Bull Shit and Mumbling part of the curriculum at Harvard?

POMO is the biggest joke around...the Fed is so full of shit it's not even funny, all they want to see is a mindless public naively thinking everything is okay. most people I know don't even know the details of the shutdown or what it would have entailed. most didn't even know it was about to happen. what a shame...
