Today's WTF Data Point: Meet To The CIA's WikiLeaks Task Force
And people thought the onion's reality is applicable only to the stock market and economy. For today's WTF moment we head to the CIA where we find the latest Frankenstein monster, titled, literally, WTF. Meet the WikiLeaks Task Force. Per The Guardian: "The group will be charged with scouring the released documents to survey
damage caused by the disclosures." One can just imagine the DOJ's WTF hearings that will likely involve an extradited Assange responding to WTF charges. And with the line between reality and editorial sarcasm blurred beyond recognition, we expect the imminent announcement of a Fed directive titled Preventing Peasant Tensions (acronymed appropriately) whose sole function will be the creation of an imaginary wealth effect for the peasant population, and an all too real escalation in cocaine habit formations among the country's financial "elite."
More on this latest lunacy from the Guardian:
"Officially, the panel is called the WikiLeaks Task Force. But at CIA headquarters, it's mainly known by its all-too-apt acronym: WTF," the Washington Post reported.
Earlier this month the Guardian revealed that the CIA was responsible for drafting the data "wishlist" that the US state department wanted on UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, and other senior members of the organisation.
Although the CIA has featured in some WikiLeaks disclosures, relatively little of its own information has entered the ether, the paper reported. A recently retired former high-ranking CIA official told the Post this was because the agency "has not capitulated to this business of making everything available to outsiders".
"They don't even make everything available to insiders. And by and large the system has worked."
While most of the agency's correspondence is understood to be classified at the same "secret" level as the leaked cables that ended up online, it is understood the CIA uses different systems to those of other government agencies.
The only troubling development out of reality itself becoming a farce, is that we are very concerned about the viability of TheOnion.com's business model.

At the end of this article, Assange confirms BOA.

Don't any of those goombops have teenagers, or young Mistresses?
CIA Agent on WTF task force: "I'm sorry I couldn't make it to our meeting at the Waldorf, had to work late".
20-something Mistress: "WTF!?!?"
CIA Agent: "How do you know that!?!?"
this is stupendous. brings a tear to the eye as i'm reminded of the nigaz partnership in the early zh days. good times...

Or when the Tea Partiers got a little baggin' goin' on.
They are now clearly Mocking us. They are somehow growing in confidence with this stuff.
I am waiting for Hulk Hogan to come out saying he plans to run for 2012, with his Running Mate, Bat Man. The whole thing just seems so staged. Maybe a lot of this is meant to replace anger with confusion.
That's the way it looks. A taunt... The number of things done in derision is growing by the day.
They know they lie. They know others know they are lying. And now it is "come on and get me"
Exactly, I expected the gloves to come off at some point. I just didn't expect US as Citizens would be the first target.
I figured they would go secure us some more oil reserves in Iran with that new found confidence, but instead, they are turning on us first, and that is frightening.
I'm not so sure. Now, when the IRS played the "Nutcracker Suite" while you were on hold--12 months a year--that I was sure was messing with people.
OTOH, even CIA policy wonks and spooks would be expected to recognize the established meaning of WTF, imo.
<Shrug>
The goobermant must be running out of acronyms. That should tell you something...
Sometimes I think they have a competition to see how much bullshit they can get away with. Seriously, 'WTF'? Will the seal of the task force include the goatse man somehow?
I thought it was just me. I had a feeling that life is a complete Balloon boy farce. I think i will go back to watching Columbo. Peter Falk is a hell of a lot more entertaining than Julian Assange.
Wow this acid I took is REALLY good you guys ;)
That acid you took is so good, it's making ME hallucinate.
"Everytime I take acid all my friends start acting all trippy."

I never knew the acronym WTF, until i finally googled it a while back. saw it so much on ZH, had to find out myself.

I don't give a fuck either. I just want to eat good and fuck.
Pure comedy.
Lets face it: Assange's case is instrumentalized to reach the conclusion that the US is strongly supportive of freedom of speech.
This guy released benign information. He is overcharged with accusations like treason that can not hold. Big agencies are going after him. Etc...
The big show, the complete circus. When the situation calms down, Assange will be treated for what he did: nearly nothing. In the meantime, as the US is building up fake cases on him, the conclusion to come up will be that the US respects freedom of speech.
Nothing very different from the cop who compells you to park the car, starts to insinuate you have broken multiple laws when you have done nothing at all, but as it is a free country, and as he is a nice cool cop, it will be fine for this time and he will allow you to move on.
Nothing new here.

But, but, those documents were already pre screened for release. Why bother doing that twice? Oh, that's right, this whole shirade is for our benefit. I get it now.
Oh, that's right, this whole shirade is for our benefit. I get it now.
You don't even get the dictionary.
Spell-check is free and, user friendly.
He can't trust spell check because it calls "truthers" into question. Also, it only gives out information which everybody knows is already in the dictionary. This implicates spellcheck as a CIA operation.
I resent the condescending implication that a desire to know the truth about something should be ridiculed, as well as the subconscious connotation to holocaust 'deniers'.
If you're not a "truther", what are you? What do you desire to know?
Truth is determined by an examination of facts. You have admitted in this thread that your views on Assange are based entirely on conjecture. Those who take pride in their inability to differentiate between what can be imagined to be true and that which is demonstrably true deserve ridicule.
Don't you see the insanity of bellowing about "truth" while deriding those who ask to see your evidence?
If you look closer, you will see that while I might lean in a certain direction, I don't believe there are enough facts to conclude anything solidly about the WL fiasco.
I wasn't speaking to the insanity of looking for truth while denying the parts of the truth that rub you the wrong way.
I was saying that it is a dick move to associate people who question official narratives with holocaust denial.
You really have a way of extracting whatever meaning you like from the words you see. It must be tough living in a world where every time you see a sign that says, 'merry christmas' you only see the words 'screw you'.
the parts of the truth that rub you the wrong way.
Of what "parts" are you speaking? By your own admission you have not presented a single fact in support of your position. Please show me evidence of "the parts of the truth" to which you allude. Do you understand that truth is based on demonstrable reality and not fantasy?
Again,
If you look closer, you will see that while I might lean in a certain direction, I don't believe there are enough facts to conclude anything solidly about the WL fiasco.
I don't believe there are enough facts to conclude anything solidly about the WL fiasco.
You have presented zero facts, so yeah, that's not enough. Why would you even entertain the idea that Assange works for the CIA when there is not a single piece of evidence to support the position?
The bother is to assure that the fooyasco leads nicely to a more free internet exeky orders or some such.
So the CIA creates a sub-division to monitor their other other created sub-division called WikiLeaks?
Once again government spending down the drain...
If you're going to live in fantasy land why not imagine something nice like unicorns and fairy princesses?
To go into the cognitive dissonance of believing that everything must be a conspiracy, perhaps all of you should check your emotions/skill sets at the door. All is not what it seems, therefore, it must be a conspiracy. Those who are so sure that Wikileaks is an element of the CIA, without any evidence whatsover other than that Assange does not believe 911 was an inside job must start debunking their own minds. You have work to do so start thinking if you dare to look at your inner processes. I had my doubts, but rather than believing whoever posted the article over the weekend I did my homework. For about 36 hours.
There is nothing mysterious about the past of Julian Assange. It is all available for anyone who wishes to research it with page shots from eons ago of his journals, to books he has been a part of, to his troubled childhood attending as many as 37 primary and secondary schools either to the "traveling theatre" story or that his own father was stalking his mother and they had to move constantly. He claims his father was the reason he and his mother moved constantly in the book Underground: Hacking, Madness, and obsession on the Electronic Frontier. His work and schooling pretty much account for most of his life. Where's the mystery?
There is ton of data not available on Wikipedia which I did not source at all on Assange. He is a very forthright individual with a idealist romantic philosophy that he has taken to the extreme. He was also a single father which as we all know will no brings loads of background. If you care to read an interview with his son--google it yourself--Daniel Assange interview. I could publish a 100 page book on his past but the real point here is that you who cite him as a CIA op are not even looking for truth. It's just an easy story for you to believe so you seek nothing further. I looked further. The post over the weekend here on this blog was grossly inaccurate--just as the Wikileaks cable that Michael Moore's film Sicko was banned in Cuba was just assumed to be true and the media reported on it rather than fact checking.
I worked for Dow Jones for 6 years under the Bancrofts. I ran a global newswire that made a great deal of trouble for Wall Street firms. I fact checked my reporters fact checking. I found errors all the time. Those of you that have made your decision that Assange is an agent of the CIA are chiming in with the gang. Do some homework and you might learn something. Your biases are working against you with no substatiation.
The man is a brilliant programmer, believes in what he is doing, and much to his undoing, a romantic of what life should be. There are two very interesting posts from his blog in 2006-2007:
Sun 24 Dec 2006 : The pending total annihilation of the US regime in Somalia
The US backed Somali "government", the Somali Transitional National Assembly (TNA), faces total annihilation, avoidable only by an Ethiopian invasion of Somalia and the creation of a Quisling regime.
In the past year the TNA has been routed from all regions of Somalia by the Union of Islamic Courts (UIC) and now holds only Baidoa, a middling town close to the Ethiopian border. The "government" has already lost the capital, Mogadishu. The TNA is a US supported power broker club with many detested warlords, including those behind the 1991 atrocities in Black Hawk Down. Its hold on Baidoa is weak and has only been maintained in the last 24 hours by aggressive Ethiopian air-strikes, artillery and the invasion of 10 to 20 thousand Ethiopian troops. Ethiopia is the traditional, hated enemy of Somalis. Whatever legitimacy the TNA may have had with Somalias is now completely lost. The Molotov-Tribbentrop Pact is statesmanship compared to cynicism behind the TNA inviting Ethiopian troops and artillery into Somalia.
It's worth pausing to reflect on the high power to wealth ratio of community building islamist movements such as the UIC when operating against well funded US/UN led democracy wagons. It appears the US promise of neocorporatism, i.e better shopping does not move the heart to engage in the cooperation, love and sacrifice demanded by war. The other US promise, democracy, is a difficult abstraction (try drawing it), and like all such abstractions, easily abused by those seeking power for other agendas. It is an alleged means to an end, not an end in itself. There's no human instinct for democracy.
Consider the US Declaration of Independence (1776), a document which is the distillation of instinctive desires which drove men to war and kept them there. What are these desires?
...God.. Creator.. created equal... Life, Liberty,... pursuit of Happiness.. Safety and Happiness... [followed by 26 paragraphs of hatred for the abuses of King George].
In other words, religious / community feeling (x2), equality, life, liberty, happiness (x2), safety, and above all, an extreme hatred for the brutal acts, preferment, and corruption of foreign influenced or controlled government.
Not once does better shopping or its alleged antecedent democracy appear.
This doesn't bode well for the Iraqi Provisional Authority or the Somali Transitional National Assembly -- at least, the British, pontificating and powdered though they may have been, shared the same language and religion.
If the US administration wants to inspire Somalis and others to support its regimes, it'll have to do better than promises of better shopping and handwaving means into ends.
And this:
Sat 09 Jun 2007 : The United what of America?
It has been frequently noted that many corporations exceed nation states in GDP. It has been less frequently noted that some also exceed them in population (employees).
But it is odd that the comparison hasn't been taken further. Since so many live in the state of the corporation, let us take the comparison seriously and ask the following question. What kind of states are giant corporations?
In comparing countries, after the easy observations of population size and GDP, it is usual to compare the system of government, the major power groupings and the civic freedoms available to their populations.
The corporation as a nation state has the following properties:
These large multinationals, despite having a GDP and population comparable to Belgium, Denmark or New Zealand have nothing like their quality of civic freedoms. Internally they mirror the most pernicious aspects of the 1960s Soviet. This even more striking when the civilising laws of region the company operates in are weak (e.g West Pupua or South Korea). There one can see the behavior of these new states clearly, unobscured by their surroundings.
If small business and non-profits are eliminated from the US, then what's left? Some kind of federation of Communist states.
A United Soviet of America.
Back to my comments:
He's not too far off in this parallel of Corporate Farcism we talk about all the time here. In fact, he is spot on.
I think both posts show you something very interesting about the inner workings of this man's mind. Many of the posts (there are at least 80) are very mathematical since that is how he thinks, with transitive logic and great examples. He is also a brilliant physicist, studied neuroscience in Melbourne, and is at heart a philosopher on a very interesting level. These past 6 months have perhaps given him a "star" level that pleases him--his 15 minutes. But threats on the lives of his son and mother--let alone his own life being called out for assassiantion--well, he made a good point today about the politicians that called for such a thing--The United States no longer operate under the rule of law. I couldn't agree more. And everyone else on this blog basically feels the same way. So what do you say?
He asked his son to join him on the WIkileaks mission but the kid never thought it would fly.
I don't think this man is for sale or ever has been. He has some Fight Club analogies that are brilliant.
I admit that I am a debunker at heart. I want to hear everything possible before I make a decision. Nothing I have read, heard, or seen gives me any proof that Assange is working with the US government. Bring it on if you have the proof. If not, then talk to your mirror in the bathroom about your own biases and how you have convinced yourself that he is not who he says he is. As I said at the beginning--there is nothing mysterious about him. He is an idealist in my opinion. Too smart and basically socially inept. But working for the CIA? I don't buy it for a minute after days of reading both sides of the argument.
"Too smart... (for his own good)... and basically socially inept" a perfect Disinformation Agent?
Another Psychological Operation with Limited Hangout objectives, using an ideal PATSY?
A useful IDIOT SAVIANT being duped by various levels of CIA, Mossad, et al, handlers to function as an Agent Provocateur without his direct knowledge or deeper understanding?
Are there not possibly hundreds of Julian clones, in CyborgSpace, just as hungry and lustful for their 15 minutes?
..............................................................
What is actually 'REVEALED'?
Pay MORE attention to what is NOT!
In common, basic, crude but more accurate terms...
Tobacco Smoke Enemas in the rectum of MSM.
I pay attention to the fallacies of your logic. Revealing in video the murder of two Reuters reporters was pretty serious. The cables so far have shown one very interesting thing to me--that China is not besties with North Korea. But the Afghan and Iragy leaks last summer were for more enlightening than the recent spat of cables of which only 2% have so far been released.
There have been many highly intelligent, philosophically driven idealists with intentions to change the world--and they had nothing to do with black ops.
Tyler Durden comes to mind. Bring on the data. Show me more than your cynical intuition. Prove it in more than rhetoric. Assange's life is more of an open book than the Tyler's. How do you know ZH is not a CIA op? Because YOU believe it.
I have been here for a very long time. There is no proof that we are not wagging the dog here, is there? Huffington Post and MSNBC credit this blog as a source. Or is it much easier to believe that you belong to something and that what others say is a conspiracy is true than to do some research?
Again, the Tylers, as much as I respect them, could just as easily be Julian Assange. Same profile--too smart for their own good, most likely socially inept, did some stupid things in the past like getting caught for insider trading for a $770 profit resulting in his Series 7 license being suspended (one great big BFD and a WTF?) and commencing to doing the most idealistic thing he could do: creating a transparent financial blog using anonymity and renouncing his US citizenship. Whether the main Tyler is the man accused of such sincerely stupid things or not, there is evidence that supports it. Does it change my opinion that what ZH does it good for the world? NO. Does it make me believe that those who comment on the fine work bringing forth the data that Tyler, his bretheron, the other men, women, and contributors behind the blog put up for our thoughts are a unified field of glorious intelligence? NO. Does the fact that Wikileaks is under attack for espionage and that Assange should be tracked down like Bin Laden and assassinated by our politicians speaking with a complete disregard for the rule of law in the US piss me off? YES.
Use your brains, not your anger. There are no conclusions to be drawn at this moment in time with regards to Wikileaks. Unless speculation is the only game in town, you have no case. Paying attention to what is not said is not the role of Wikileaks. It is the role of those who have the data.
I have the complete dump. 251,000 cables it a lot of data. I have been more interested in the last 4 days in finding out more about the origin of the organization--leaks.org was registered in 1999 by Assange but he didn't have the code or the framework together yet. Like I said above--there is little mystery here. And when you rely on anonymous sources, yes there can be BS among it. Just look at the known sources here like Mad Hedge Fund Trader. I rest my case.
Ms Julia:
Damn!... You must be reading my pea brain.
I had actually intended to mention TD as one of the possible "hundreds of other Julian clones". But not wanting to side track too much, I deleted that part. Great that you were able to sense it, pick it up, and run with it.
Please... also note, that I ended all my thoughts with question marks for a very good reason.
Hell... I quit believing everything I can not actually touch: or my fixing anything except with a big hammer and a sharp saw, over forty years ago. But my "cynical intuition*" has served me well: shook me permanently out of the USSA, out of 'TheNam' back in the late 1960's.
Great, insightful work Julia!
* (long ... 'smoke & mirrors')
Cynical intuition is a very good thing, as long as we remember to question ourselves from time to time to keep it in check. Otherwise, we exclude ourselves from that which we seek most to find--the truth.
Sweet dreams.
Same to you.
Good night.
And good luck!
I just hope they don't use him as an excuse to attempt to shut down the internet. If that happened, it wouldn't really matter who Assange happens to be. We'll see how it unfolds over the coming months. It's definitely something to keep on the radar.
Excuses to shut down the internet have been in the works for many years. And yes, there is now a law that allows the President to secure the government but of course it is open to much interpretation. Not being one that is afraid of these things, nonetheless, I can offer great advice that will keep you up to date on world news, etc.
First, you had better have an old modem just in case . Those of you with laptops that no longer have phone connectors can get a USB modem for $15. There will always be a way to log on. You cannot shut down the internet entirely. BBS's would be up in seconds as was the way in the late 80's.
Anyone using TOR can be anywhere they want to be anyplace in the world. So if you want privacy and anonymity, that is the way to go. If you read what was legislated--it was about shutting down access to Federal agencies. But being the extremists that so many are here, always looking for the worst case scenario, please have a shot of something and appreciate what went well today and continue your preparation as you deem fit.
And by the way, telephones will still work even if the web is shut down. Life will not stop. If anything, we will become even more creative and obstructionist to such an action.
To me, it's a waste of time to think about how bad things could get when the economic realities of how bad things really are seem far more important. Stock up on food or whatever your mechanism is, do what you must. But get out of fear--it will suck the life out of you, get TOR, and have your selected reading ready to go. The web is an addiction, not the be all and end all to real information. In fact, we get more disinformation on the web than ever before as rumors become fact on a daily basis.
As a species, we will be far better off if we start to turn it off now--withdrawal is much easier when the hardest part is over. Ask Keith Richards--highly recommend his autobiography, A Life. Fucking brilliant, especially if you are a Stones fan or a musician or just plain historian.
"The web is an addiction."
I kind of hope, in many ways, that this circus of circuits does end.
Knowing myself as a bit of an obsessive with addiction issues it would be nice to just be re-routed back into my wood shop all day. I was dragged, kicking and screaming, into the 21st century and computers, after stubbornly resisting till 2004.
Now... I waste what's left of my eyesight and limited time on earth @ ZH, and other cyborg hangouts, instead of butchering trees to lumber: deafening noise, covered in sawdust, inhaling toxic fumes and solvents all day, making and finishing wood boats and furniture.
I sometimes wonder if the CIA/MIC created an electronic drug to hook the more educated masses, to supplement their lock on the hard drugs used to control the inner city's ghettoized poor.
The same Nazis were pulling the strings of the world 40 years ago. Now they just do it in the open... taunting and terrorizing and openly declaring...
"W.T.F. ... you peons going to do about it ?"
W.T.F. ... You want to vote? Sure go vote!
W.T.F. ... Another war or three. Why not!"
Living back up in the mountains of BC, I wonder what is the use of even knowing "World News"? Might it be best to end this globalized electronic hallucination which appears on a monitor? Return as I was just a few short years ago, living as a semi hermit, meditating on and living day to day, seeing joy in the Bright White Light of Bliss Ignorance.
W.T.F. .... Maybe?
"Circus of circuits"....well said! I really enjoyed your post.I lived without electricity and running water for two years and loved it--people are so afraid of it that they have no idea how easy it really is.
I remember Bill Gates saying in 1996 that he never saw the explosion of the internet coming...so the man that stole DOS for $50K from IBM didn't even see what Steve Case saw with AOL. And it is proven now that the internet is dumbing down the brain--instead of accessing memory and twisting our neurons inside out to remember something, we Google it, or in my case Ixquick it (best search engine out there that does not record your IP address when you search for "sensitive" information).
Similar to using calculators instead of making the brain "think".
No matter what happens, life will go on. Those with the least to lose will be the best off. Those with the most to lose in terms of how they are positioned philosophically, emotionally, and addicted to their gadgets will hurt the most.
Creativity is born out of changing and difficult times. I think the fact that you are only 6 years into the digital addiction, you have nothing to fear. You have skills that most men don't these days. And "Seeing joy in the Bright White Light of Bliss Ignorance" is putting yourself down. There is no ignorance there. Just wear a respirator when using those solvents! As for the noise--aren't their better headphones out there now for saving the eardrums?
Hot Damn!... My first cyborg Birthing Day........ SURPRIZE !!!!..........
Not really expecting a response... being how this thread is so far off the hard scrabble rush to be first to respond to TD's constant and much too frequent (for me to keep up with)stream of posts.
The line I cribbed is Firesign Theather, from a skit, off one of their ancient albums back in my wasted youth...
"...the bright white light of stupidity..."
But since I'm fight off a killer bug at the moment, the theme song today is...

They make 'Airplane!' look like a Fellini movie.
Okay, before we continue to read too much into this task force announcement, here goes.
CIA enables leaks to Wikileaks, and they in turn, do their job very well. The world gets to see some reality for a change. It also gets some fat fuck "allies" off their collective asses.
Obama calls Panetta and they agree that the CIA must put some sort of task force together, for PR sake. The fact that they name it WTF is absolutely hilarious....I think they did it to humor us (tongue-in-cheek).
Return to business as usual.
+1. THIS.
CIA enables leaks to Wikileaks
Have you got any evidence to back up that accusation?
CIA enables leaks to Wikileaks
WTF certainly suggests this...
Additional improbable suppositions based on no evidence wasn't what I was looking for when I asked to see the evidence. Am I to assume that you have not one shred of actual evidence to support your claim?
Nothing black and white. Then again, the intelligence agencies don't make it a habit of leaving behind a trail of breadcrumbs.
Many are of the opinion that this connection can be inferred by the lack of controversial findings within the leaks. Assange revealed nothing that the aware observer hasn't known already for the past two years.
Then, you have the fact that WL and Assange have been paraded out into everyone's face by the MSM. Whenever I see a story being pushed out by the entire MSM, I try to ask myself, "what is the narrative that we're supposed to swallow here". I would guess that if Assange was truly a thorn in the side of TPTB (who control the MSM), you probably wouldn't see this being pushed out by NBC, CBS, ABC, etc. This gives me pause.
When you take these two points along with some of the responses to WL ranging from suggestions of assassinating Assange to shutting down the internet, it appears that WL is being used as a catalyst to push a specific agenda through. Specifically, in my humble opinion, I believe that it is to shutdown the internet.
This is all circumstantial evidence. I understand what you're getting at. There is no smoking gun, so you must believe what you will about WL. I just don't think Assange is the hero of the people that we're being told he is. Time will tell.
Having said all of that, I am not 100% certain of anything here either. I can't be; as you've pointed out, there is no direct link between WL and the CIA. Again, time will tell.
Tell me now, what conclusions have you drawn from what you know about Assange and WL?
Assange revealed nothing that the aware observer hasn't known already for the past two years.
Please cite the specific cables to which you refer. Or are you making that accusation without actually having read a preponderance of the documents?
Then, you have the fact that WL and Assange have been paraded out into everyone's face by the MSM.
It is a fact that you are talking about Assange. By your own criteria you may be deemed to have a roll in the conspiracy.
the responses to WL ranging from suggestions of assassinating Assange to shutting down the internet, it appears that WL is being used as a catalyst to push a specific agenda through.
Are you suggesting that anyone who upsets the government is likely a government stooge? Are you suggesting that no one actually believes in freedom or openness and that all who claim to do so are part of a plan to bring tyranny and secrecy? Are the only good people those who have not offended and endangered politicians and bankers?
Nothing black and white.
Do you really feel justified in piling on Assange along with Lieberman and Palin when you admit that you have no evidence whatsoever that the man is anything other than what he claims to be?
Tell me now, what conclusions have you drawn from what you know about Assange and WL?
I find the documents to be of interest and I look forward to viewing the new cables which are being released everyday.
woah buddy, you got enough straw there to build a full scale replica of Buckingham Palace. I only hope the Big Bad Wolf is out of town...
Anyway, here we go:
I find the documents to be of interest and I look forward to viewing the new cables which are being released everyday.
Get an effing job...
Do you really feel justified in piling on Assange along with Lieberman and Palin when you admit that you have no evidence whatsoever that the man is anything other than what he claims to be?
I take every opportunity to 'pile on' anything with Sarah Palin, say what you will about her politics, she looks great in a bikini holding a rifle!
Are you suggesting that anyone who upsets the government is likely a government stooge? Are you suggesting that no one actually believes in freedom or openness and that all who claim to do so are part of a plan to bring tyranny and secrecy? Are the only good people those who have not offended and endangered politicians and bankers?
Yes. This is what I believe. There is no such thing as a whistle-blower. The 9/11 conspiracy----was government conspiracy.
It is a fact that you are talking about Assange. By your own criteria you may be deemed to have a roll in the conspiracy.
FUCK! you found me out. Now I have to change my profile name on ZH. Dear Tyler, my cover is blown. I was formerly working on operation finger-dyke, but an astute ZH member has discovered my true identity. Please hook it up wit a new profile name. Sincerely, Jesus McChrist--(aka dr)
Please cite the specific cables to which you refer. Or are you making that accusation without actually having read a preponderance of the documents?
Man, I knew I forgot to do something...
Honestly, if you're not going to be grown up around here I won't be inclined to either....
All that indignation and you still can't find the energy to present one fact to support your position. And that's my fault, I suppose.
You are at fault for ignoring the points of my post that you couldn't readily make a strawman argument out of.
I ceded the point that there is no conclusive evidence to suggest that WL is part of the CIA.
I then went on to describe the circumstantial evidence that exists which is leading some to believe that such is the case.
I told you I am not 100% decided on this issue. Before you accuse me of backtracking, I will state that from the points I've already outlined, I lean more toward believing that this might be part of a psyop. I really don't know, but I am not going to say that it is definitely not a psyop either. I am going to reserve judgement until we can see where this thing leads.
If it helps you, please believe that I am a lunatic who can't form a cogent thought, let alone argument, and that you're brain works the best at logic and thinking.
Peace out, brosef!
I ceded the point that there is no conclusive evidence to suggest that WL is part of the CIA.
One would expect that an honest and reasonable man would spend his time ascertaining and reviewing the facts of the situation before lining up with the politicians and bankers who wish to call the veracity and import of Assange's leaked documents into question.
Zero sum game: gaining as much respect for Downrodeo as you lose for CrocketAlabama.
Those who expect accusations to be supported by evidence deserve no respect. Crockett is a witch! Burn him, burn him!
"Tape loop sez:"
WTF BS STFU !
How's that?
he says he doesn't like you...
I don't like you either...
(i have the death penalty on 4 star systems, playa!)
Peace out, brosef!
Yes, people who want to see evidence before condemning another human being are of the most detestable type. Shame on me.
Man, relax!
Look friend, at the end of the day I believe we're pretty much in agreement. In truth, I was joking when I started all of this off by saying 'WTF wasn't enough for you?'
I neglected to insert a /sarc/ tag. I am sorry for that.
It was a tongue in cheek remark because it would be a logical circle to assume that conclusions you draw from a premise prove the validity of the original premise.
I'll state one last time that, for the moment, I'm reserving judgement on WL and Julian Assange. Let's meet back here in 4 months to discuss what we've learned. For now, I don't wish to argue anymore, as we're not accomplishing much here. STOP!
The third rule of Fight Club is, if someone yells "Stop!" goes limp, taps out, the fight is over.
Assange is in danger now. When the fire bell rings it's best to turn out quickly. In four months there will nothing but blackened ruins.
his accusation has as much evidence for it as the goobermint's and MSM's accusation that Assange is a vigilante doling out internet justice
Are you suggesting that Assange should be vilified based on a complete lack of evidence one way or another regarding his potential associates?
There is a HUGE difference between mistakes that invite accusation, and planned activities in the information-misinformation game that is played EVERY DAY in espionage/counter espionage.
Just so that I don't give you the wrong impression....I am a big fan of the CIA. Theirs is the most valuable, thankless job in the world.
Tape loop sez: "Have you got any evidence to back up that accusation?"
The proof is in the physics of it. Months of leaks with no reaction until recently? Defies Newtonian physics.
Three scenarios that I see, and I lean toward #2:
If you don't like any of these, form your own brief and present it hear. This is a blog. Or, email Panetta and see what truth he reveals.
We are beyond the postmodern moment.
The first order of the symbol, the symbol corresponds to reality. If a dude has a crown, he is king.
The second order of the symbol, the symbol bifurcates from reality, you have pretenders. The upper classes can afford to dress like kings. Some one with a crown may not be king.
The third order of the symbol, the symbol does not correspond with reality because it can be mass produced. All of society may wear crowns if they wish, crowns no longer distinguish kings.
The fourth order of the symbol is the order of the simulacra, it is the truth that hides the truth that there is no truth. This is where the symbol is finally, totally divorced from reality. What is a king? Do kings have kingdoms? King of Pop? Elvis, Michael? Magic Kingdom? Is that a real kingdom? How about the housing project in the magic kingdom? Is that in a real kingdom? Is it a "real" housing project? What is real? This is the Post-Modern moment. Truth is mass produced, recombined, and homoginized. The original association of the symbol to reality has dispersed into a hyper reality.
This is where Baudrillard left us.
I'm proposing that there is so much fraud, so much deliberate dishonesty, so much manipulation and misrepresentation, that we have moved beyond the postmodern moment into the fifth order of the symbol. I think I will call it the Postmortem moment.
It is the moment that marks the death of everything. When there is no truth because it has all been dissipated into matrixes of meaning relativity. In a postmodern sensibility about things, you consult history, but you constuct local truths that serve for the moment, knowing that they cannot be the truth for all time. This is a nice idea, but it assumes that all the players are trying to work together for the best of the collective. It falls apart when the players higher up have one goal, and that is deceit.
The postmortem moment represents the death of the meaning system itself. Nothing and no one in authority can be trusted. Beyond the simulacra, the decoupling of symbol from reality is now being harnessed in a cynical manner to manipulate short term outcomes.
Just thinking out loud, having a WTF moment, a postmortem moment, brought to me by the CIA.
Stop... Ms!
Just caused a powerful flashback!
Ken Kesey is in my head, talking to me again.

Bullhorn: Man, you guys ain't had no waffles like these. These waffles are so good, they're like they come from down South. These buttery motherfuckers will melt in your mouth. Man you ain't had no waffles...
Black Dynamite: Wait! Bullhorn, what did you just say? You said, 'Melts in your mouth'. Quick...
[erases the restaurant menu blackboard]
Black Dynamite: What else melts in your mouth?
Cream Corn: M&M's!
Black Dynamite: Exactly. And not in your hands. And who makes M&M's?
Militant #3: Mars Candy Company make it. Yeah, yeah.
Black Dynamite: And Mars is also...
Saheed: The Roman God of War.
Black Dynamite: Who is the Greek God of War?
Militant 2: Ares.
Black Dynamite: Now, you take Mars and spell it backwards, drop the S.
Cream Corn: Ram. That's right. And ram is the zodialogical sign for Aries. Oh! Now dig. Ares' half-sister is Athena.
Black Dynamite: Now you're getting it.
Cream Corn: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Athena, Athens.
Saheed: Which is the capital of Greece.
Black Dynamite: And as we all know, zodialogical astronomy was created by the Greeks in...
Cream Corn, Saheed, Militant 2, Militant #3: 785 B.C.
Militant 2: And 785 is the area code to Topeka. Oh, my God. 785 is the area code to Topeka, Kansas!
Bullhorn, Cream Corn, Saheed, Militant 2, Militant #3: Code Kansas!
Black Dynamite: Now take that, spell it backwards and drop the S.
Militant #3: Snake doc. Snake doctor, yeah!
Black Dynamite: Yes. And brothers, who is the Greek Demigod of Medicine who believed that snakes' tongues had mystical healing powers?
Cream Corn: Aesculapius, of course. He had a staff with snakes intertwining all around that bitch. They called it Aesculapius' staff. It's a symbol the medical field uses to this day.
Black Dynamite: Now, what legend involving snakes is in both Greek and Roman mythology? Now, come on. It involves Aesculapius' own father.
Woman at table: Apollo.
Black Dynamite: Yeah. Thanks, lady.
Saheed: That's right. Apollo slew the serpent at Delphi, which was a big-ass snake.
Black Dynamite: And what, brothers, is the biggest snake in the world?
Woman at table: The South American anaconda.
Black Dynamite: What she said.
Cream Corn, Saheed, Militant 2, Militant #3: Anaconda Malt Liquor!
Black Dynamite: And what is the slogan for Anaconda Malt Liquor? Anaconda Malt Liquor gives you...
Cream Corn, Saheed, Militant 2, Militant #3: WHOOOOO!
Black Dynamite: Gives you what?
Cream Corn, Saheed, Militant 2, Militant #3: WHOOOOO!
Black Dynamite: And who else is famous for...
Cream Corn, Saheed, Militant 2, Militant #3: WHOOOOO! Little Richard!
Black Dynamite: Who?
Cream Corn, Saheed, Militant 2, Militant #3: Little Richard!
Black Dynamite: So, what they're really saying is...
Cream Corn, Saheed, Militant 2, Militant #3: Anaconda Malt Liquor gives you... Little Richard?
Black Dynamite: What is another word for Richard?
[Black Dynamite crosses out 'Richard' on the blackboard. The gang look down on their pants]
Cream Corn, Saheed, Militant 2, Militant #3: Gunsmoke!
[the gang run out of the diner towards Gunsmoke's apartment]

WTF was fully operational more than two years ago, i.e., well before Mr. Assange, the WikiLeaks "founder", was released from a prison.
I can find no documentation that Assange was in prison two years ago. Do you have a source? For the record, the Wikileaks website was founded in 2006 which was four years ago.
Please clarify your statement.
Mr. Alamo CrockO'Shit:
Just a little lite reading for your holiday pleasure.
1836: MEXICO.
Ah yes... Let's all 'Remember the Alamo'.
The official government bullshit and Hollywood's BS propaganda machine really gets cranked up big time throughout the years on this one.
A handful of valiant, freedom-loving Americans pluckily fighting the swarthy, evil Mexican oppressor and giving their lives in the cause of liberty. Makes your heart beat real proud in your star spangled, red, white and blue draped chest, don’t it?
And who are these heroes of liberty?
Davy Crockett, ethnic cleanser and slave owner.
Jim Bowie, land speculator, slave owner and slave trader.
And what were those so called heroes doing in the Alamo Mission in the first place?
In 1835, there were about twenty thousand Americans and four thousand slaves living in the Mexican state of Texas. Most of the slaves engaged in making their owners wealthier by the cultivation of cotton.
In December of 1835, the Mexican government effectively banned slavery in Texas.
Always keen to defend freedom and liberty, the American settlers attempted to secede and steal Texas from Mexico in order to maintain slavery and the wealth and power they derived from it.
Mexican General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna arrived with troops and laid siege to the Catholic mission of the Alamo, which the slave owners had seized. At the end of a thirteen day siege, all the inhabitants of the Alamo, with the exception of women, children and slaves, were dead.
The seige of the Alamo is then re-invented, the truth turned upside down, becoming yet another of the great lies of American “history”, spread through a host of movies, television programs, books and articles.
Get your historical documentation from some place other than Walt Disney ... 'WTF-WhackyLeaks'... or "The Offal 9/11 USSA Truth Omission" !
Just because "you can find no documentation" does not mean there ain't none.
CrockettAlmanac is an allusion to a popular "penny press" magazine of the mid-nineteenth century. Its humor and fiction influenced the writers of the American Renaissance including Emerson, Poe and Melville.
Now, what was your point?
Just because "you can find no documentation" does not mean there ain't none.
Please provide the documentation showing that Assange was in jail two years ago.
Mr. Point e'Head:

That's hilarious coming from a guy who refuses to present even a single fact to support his position.
So, shall someone in Congress ask them to also survey the benefits of freedom, and the damage done by secrecy and the atrocities it enables?
That would be an interesting little WTF indeed.
Only in America can our government be this ridiculous. WTF.

What a deal.
quite possibly 2010's funniest moment yet. though i wish they could have come up with a STFU taskforce for wikileaks instead.

Silence Task Force Ultra? jawohl, herr bohmann.
Now every time someone uses the acronym wtf a cia computer will have to flag it and it will have to be looked at. More employees for the cia and wtf.

Assange is obviously some type of CIA/Mossad Zionist plant. Any fucker with access to that much information that denies 911 is patently what you would call "controlled opposition."
Common sense tells me its all part of a greater plan to restrict and censor Internet. America moves closer to Ziocommunism every single day!
Common sense tells me its all part of a greater plan to restrict and censor Internet.
Common sense demands that such accusations be backed up by evidence. But you just dropped by to say that like all the other Assange bashers, you have no evidence and that's why you're so sure that you're right.
And... here's what U'all believes... "and that's why you're so sure that you're right."

Funny things a simple click, some research reveals.
Try it sometime.... Davey!
If you were trying to find a fact to support your position that Assange works for the CIA that wasn't it.
Let me see....
Something you believe, but do not know, is not corroborated by what increasingly appears to be a single source (Bradley Manning's batch download and passage to Assange), so you have no other conclusion except that Assange is Mossad or CIA.
There are other possibilities. One is that Manning did not have access to what you want. The other is that what you want doesn't exist because you are simply wrong.
The leveraged private - public partnershipping on this WTF action has got to be at least 10:1.
As the disease ridden fucks continue their dance
Pardon me for the quick chortle, but this looks like nothing more than a combination of damage assessment and serendipity. Regarding damage assessment, one should expect no less. As for the acronym, everything in the government is either called a "task force" (e.g., bin Laden Task Force, Iran Task Force) for ongoing things to "commission" for investigating concluded events, so this is just adding Wikileaks to the list of the former. It might even suggest a heretofore unknown sense of humor.
"heretofore unknown sense of humor" HA! that's rich. That quip alone makes me ROTFLMAO. Good one. Sort of reminds me of the mythical but never captured yeti or some such.... Unfortunately, to have a sense of humor, ya generally have to have some sense, first.
Really? LMAO! WTF will they think of next?
If you catch the CIA with its hand in the cookie jar and the Agency admits the obvious — what your eyes can plainly see — that its hand is indeed in the cookie jar, it means one of two things: a) the CIA's hand is in several other cookie jars at the same time which you don't know about and they hope that by confessing to the one instance they can keep the others covered up; or b) its hand is not really in the cookie jar — it's an illusion to throw you off the right scent — but they want you to believe it.
Shifting the Blame. Fact is the only thing that failed was US security assumptions. When Lierberman is talking about having the NY Times investigated on Espionage, one has to wonder how long before the Gestapo is going to show.
Its as if they are daily checking to see how much False Flag Constitution Stealing Bil of Rights Recking evil they can get people to swallow every day.
I've read that folks who are opposed to this airport groping and scanning technology are now on a "domestic extremist" list.
I believe that if we must be groped we be able to choose attractive gropers and charge for the privilege of allowing to examine our junk.
The Day Americans are willing to give up their freedom for a bogus security policy that pads the pockets of certain interests and pleases the increasingly anti-constitutional authoritarains and created "never ending" wars on whatever the hell the boogie man of the week is while raking in the big bucks and taking rights and money from the poor, the down and out, the working people, the few remaining middle class, is the day that Americans have forgotten what being American means.
WTF is what I have to say. The recent tax "compromise" will result in a call to lower expenditures on the most vulnerable and disadvantaged citizens as the black tar of unlimited campaign finance reaches beyond the completely money soaked leve.
It Used to Say "In Gold We Trust" but after we went off the Gold standard they just removed the L from Gold. Are Bonds simply Backed by Notes?
All common sense has been abandoned. Here is some common sense:
1. We need whistle blowers more than ever.
2. The problem was caused 100% by a faulty security culture and associated concentration in my opinion.
3. To attack the messenger is both bad journalism and anti-constitutional and its also highly suspect, including the trumped up charges of condom usage. I wonder how much they will get to continue lying.
4. It is very clear that the current regime would like a system more like China's. Pure authoritarian capitalism with zero real democracy and the lowest possible wages possible coupled with little no regulation of working conditions, environment, harrasment or employee representation within the a politically selected ruling class, the ones who already hold the power.
The creation of the "Domestic Extremists" list by these top heavy intelligence bureacracies is just one more sign of security culture more obsessed with quantities of data rather than quality and focus of data and analysis.
Questioning people at the gate is both more cost effective and far more likely to reveal something to protect people, especially when most cargo at our national shipping and air cargo docs never gets anything even close to appropriate scanning. The latter day security apparatus is increasingly more like the SS and KGB, seeking to keep citizens under observation and in line. The US is more big brother, intrusive than ever before and the irony is that so called "Democrats" like Obama seem to be among the biggest promoters of continuing the Cheney/Rumsfield legacy of 100% stereo typing and constant fictitious labeles to justify their daily invasion of freedom. And they are supposedly protecting freedom.
